Leggings?

Part of my job often entails crawling along the floor laying cable but I have to dress professionally so jeans are out. Hence tunics/dresses and leggings.

After spending a good part of last night hiking up said leggings, I have concluded it is time for new ones. Peacocks used to be my go to leggings store, but they've closed here and so I am not keen on even using the website.

I live in Belfast and don't have a car so I am limited to pretty much city centre. I have:

M&S
BHS
Debenhams
Next
Primark
TK Max

Small independent stores.

Where would you go for cheapish but highish quality leggings?

Don't forget Topshop and H&M.

I would imagine HOF leggings to be hundreds!

I have some BHS ones which are surprisingly good.
My expensive great plains one's are lovely and soft but nerd hoiking all day.

DD1 has several next pairs which are ok.

Next do slightly thicker ones with centre seams which might look smart and stand up to crawling about.

My old Topshop ones aren't great , got holes quite fast, bobbles, faded etc. My mum has some from M&S from a couple of years ago which still look good as new.

The Next ones are now terrible - I have a pair from 4 years ago that are in better condition than the pair I bought 6 months ago.

The best leggings by far at the moment (and I wear them every day) are Boden - yes they're £22 but they had 4 for 3 a few weeks ago or 25% off. I bought 4 pairs and they are miles better than every other pair I have from cheapy shops or Next (which were £16 the last time I bought them) - not even in the same category.

If you buy them you need to size down. They wash perfectly, don't bag at the knees, don't lose the elastic, don't bobble or wear at my substantial thighs, and come out the tumble dryer looking like new.

I'm not even wearing any of the others now apart from at the allotment.

I have a couple of pairs from Sainsburys and they are pretty thick and keep their shape well.

Boden is sold out! Probably because on sale!!

The best ones I've tried are Asda's £6 leggings.

My Sainsburys ones were rubbish!
Next are ok, I bought some thick ones that look a bit like jodhpurs which are good for work.

My h & m ones have lasted really well. Can't remember how much they cost though.

I have Boden ones and agrre they don't bag and fit and wash really well, but I never seem to wear mine, they feel like tights and are a bit shiney-odd.

These cheap ones from M and S and extremely comfy (they come up a bit big) absolutely do not fall down or need hoiking but do bag a bit at the knee by the end of the day. The burdundy colour is gorgeous.

These look a bit wierdy in the picture but are actually really nice, very thick and with a bit of a demin-y texture, don't fall down or bag. Slightly loose around the ankles.

Next do some cord leggings that have excellent reviews (I've just ordered both colours). Thicker than leggings, not at all see through.

The best ones I have found are the ASDA ones, but that may be because I'm short and a lot of the Topshop/M&S ones are really long on me.

I got some for my daughter from H&M and they are awful. Really thin material. The Next ones i got for her seem better. I assume the adult ones might be the same quality?

I hear nerd hoiking is the latest thing.

I have just got some high-waisted leggings from American Apparel, absolutely amazing. They stay up, hold in the tummy and are long. In fact I am so taken with them I want to get a couple more pairs.
