So I'm going to the MOBO's...

and need a dress! Suggestions please...must be cool, but bear in mind i am 39, not 25Grin.

So far i am looking at

or this but slightly worried about the necessity of no bra!

£350 is top end of budget really but cheaper would be better. I should be ok with shoes/bags i already have.

Love 1 and 3 too. 3 is a very statement dress so you'd need to be feeling confident to carry it off.

Mm, i thought maybe 2nd was a bit too prim?

I am 5ft5", size 8ish, 32D, strong shoulders (which i am v proud of, they take some effort at the gym Grin), but they wouldn't look good in a strapless number!

The helmut Lang in my view, fab dress, good options to ramp up the accessories and add some really good shoes and you are off I reckon!! The red is very statement you'd have to have the attitude to pull that off, but I'm sure you do! Have a great time x

The only thing is if you need some type of strapless backless bra whatsit, it's quite a gap on one side.

Have you had a look at the Outnet for some bargain designer dresses?

These could be nice with really good statement shoes, there are hundreds to choose from (and curse you cos I just ordered myself a VW Anglomania dress whilst I was looking for you!)

Very nice mrsclaypole, thank you. I really like 1 and 4 and also the philip lim, but have an all saints long sleeved dress v similar to that one. Might order and try! Sorry about the VW dress you had to buy Grin

Re bra and the red dress, guess i would have to try those stick on cup things...they do a d cup, but has anyone tried them?

So I ordered the HL and the Acne dresses. HL did look a bit cheap, especially compared to the red one, it was also a bit too short for me, I don't really go for short skirts unless with opaques. But the red dress is lovely - typical, as most expensive! Will require judicious use of tape though Grin.

So now for shoes, have posted 3 pics on my profile, but not sure any really work, what do you think? Boots-too clumpy? shoes-too dull? Nude-too WAG?! If none of these, then what?

Hi there sleep, the dress looks fantastic on you you have a great figure and can deffo carry it off, not feeling the boots at all, sorry, the black shoes are too "officey" the best are the nude but not that keen, again sorry, I reckon a bright green suede open toe, or nude platform would look good. The dress looks great on you, so you are well on your way.

Agree, none of those shoes work. Strappy platform sandals in nude of black suede or a contrast colour suede such as french navy. As the dress is shiny try to stay away from shiny patent shoes.

I hate the nude and boots, the black look okay. If you have any money left, try to buy new, sorry. You look fab btw!

That dress looks amazing on you and i actually really like it with the boots. Have fun at the mobo's i'm not at all jealous that you're going. If you see Professer Green be sure to let him know that i'm a far better choice of gf than that Chelsea girl! :D
