I had no idea that there was a way to hold your hands. (yes, that's what I've learned from these photos, where to place my hands)

Karbea · 12/09/2012 23:43

There wedges are definitely too clumpy for the White dress, she'd been better off in the nude pumps.

I do like her style but it's very samey and predictable a lot of the time, especially her daywaer, same shape different colour.

Ido however love this

jammietart · 12/09/2012 23:44

hf I immediately thought she looked different. Her face especially.

thaliablogs · 13/09/2012 00:01

can't believe no one has mentioned the blusher

drjohnsonscat · 13/09/2012 10:01

Grin at tunipthevegemal. Perhaps I am the only other poster old enough to remember that suit Grin

cue wistfulness about Peter Duncan, Simon Groom's parents' farm and the "lovely pair of knockers" Grin

I thought they looked clumpy with the broderie anglaise. But after a long day in her nude heels the day before she probably needed something comfy.

Absy · 13/09/2012 11:08

Yip. The cork wedges - lose them. It makes me a bit miffed that she's being touted as a style icon (Vanity Fair - I'm looking at you) as she really isn't. She's pretty, she has gorgeous hair and nice dresses (which you would do, being a millionaire) but she's no style icon. Come on. Those cork shoes alone should disqualify her from any list.

EldritchCleavage · 13/09/2012 12:56

Let's be fair, though. Even the most fashion-conscious of us would struggle to stay motivated faced with all the dressing up Kate has to do. On tour it's about 4 outfit changes a day, every day. I don't think you can manage that unless you have some kind of basic formula-Princess Diana did, the Queen does, Camilla does now too. Who knows how much more excitingly she would dress, left to her own devices?

PooPooOnMars · 13/09/2012 13:46

noddyholder I dont like those nude heels at all Her dresses are usually ok and appropriate but she has a great figure for fashion and needs to take more risks. British designers could really be great for her. The shoes are hideous but like her hair

Why should she take more risks? Why should she be a style icon and wear more designers? Perhaps, just perhaps, she is a person in her own right who shouldn't be expected in these times of apparent equality, to act like a coathanger for the superficial world that is the fashion industry. Perhaps she is more than that. Perhaps she is a person who shouldn't be judged on their looks, just like every other woman in the world, and picked apart and criticised for her choices. Choices which are really nothing more than cloth put on her body and protection on her feet. Its not real, its meaningless.

Good point Grin

spooktrain · 13/09/2012 17:49

@ turnip and drjohnson, I went in for that competition on Blue Peter. I designed him a very practical pair of denim dungarees. He was always getting mucky. I was Shock and Angry in equal measure when I saw the winning entry. So unpractical.
I'm pretty sure I designed an outfit for Sarah Greene aswell. And the one they chose had wire-stemmed flowers going up her legs? (I am possibly imagining this)

NineCrimes · 13/09/2012 17:58

She always looks lovely and she is not shapeless! However the shoes aren't right with that dress.

noddyholder · 13/09/2012 18:05

It is just a comment think you are taking it v seriously. She has a good figure and could do a lot for british fashion internationally. But tbh I couldn't really give a monkeys what she wears

TunipTheVegemal · 13/09/2012 18:31

Yes Spooktrain I was Shock too at the winning entry. Maybe Biddy Baxter hated him.

accessorieshelp · 13/09/2012 19:20

the cork shoes just look so cheap

See here-even the country of Malaysia thinks the duchess needs to expand her shoe repetoire:
