Does anybody not like Liz Earle??

Sillybillypoopoomummy · 07/09/2012 09:27

I think it is going to have to be done (buying LE that is) - I have been oil cleansing for months now and although my skin is loads better I still get spots Hmm. I know LE has glowing reviews pretty much everywhere but cocoa butter is very comedogenic and eucalyptus can be very irritant for sensitive skin?

Did anyone try it and find it didn't work, or is really a wonderproduct?
thank you

Aloe Smoothing day cream is what you need.

JodieHarsh · 07/09/2012 12:14

Ooo Ooo 35% off and free delivery

GobblersKnob · 07/09/2012 12:14

They are fab, with all the offers I have had recently, my bathroom cupboards are exploding. I love the Shea Body Butter and the New Mango Mist thingy of and their all natural deoderant is really good too.

I have also started wearing a lot of their make up again, I really like their lippys.

So not looking at the 45% offer today, I have enought stuff to last me for ages atm.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 07/09/2012 12:14

Watch out for the Body Shop codes, the 40% etc off are fine but I tried doing a buy 3 get cheapest free a few months ago and the cheapest was out of stock so they never sent it and I paid full price for the other two items.

They usually have decent cashback on Quidco too, that can be used as well as the codes.

I am really impressed by some of the stuff they have introduced in the last year or so, after a few years in the doldrums. I love the Rain Forest shampoo and conditioner also there are some lovely showers gels in the Earth Lovers range. I also like the smell (although not the texture) of the rose handcream.

But I am sticking with Lush for facial skincare, I have yet to find anything that suits my skin better.

squoosh · 07/09/2012 12:15

I haven't bought anything from The Body Shop since the days of kiwi lip balm in my teens. I need to reinvestigate.

valiumredhead · 07/09/2012 12:15

Oh sorry, it's 35% off not 45% - still fab though!

Sillybillypoopoomummy · 07/09/2012 12:15

I will give it a go - thank you [prepares to spend fortune in TBS tomorrow]. Am so fed up of looking like a teenager at 36...

I am fully expecting to be spot free, flake free, redness free and generally glowing very shortly Grin.

Liz Earle brought me out in horrendous spots. I felt it was really pore clogging.

valiumredhead · 07/09/2012 12:17

squoosh there is something very funny about going back there, I felt the same Grin Odd that their products used to be expensive and now Boot No 7 is 3x the price!

KateSpade · 07/09/2012 12:18

Those who mention philosophy purity made simple, do you love it? As I have the gel version & I like it but I don't love it, it's £17.00 & for that price I'd want to really like it.

Thoughts please?

JodieHarsh · 07/09/2012 12:18

They have a little Aloe Starting Kit at a tenner, which is £6.50 with the discount....And uses the words 'soothing' and 'calming' [advertisers' dream emoticon]

I am so trying it. I have a week before being a bridesmaid* and would quite like not to shatter the photographer's lens.

*Heavy Sigh

MadBusLady · 07/09/2012 12:19

Have just placed impulsive Friday style order at TBS. Including banana shampoo and conditioner because that definitely reminds me of being 16 Grin.

Sillybillypoopoomummy · 07/09/2012 12:22

Right - not sure I am going to last until tomorrow [wants glowing skin now emoticon]. Might have to nip out at lunchtime. Then I can also hide the bottles from DH Wink.

What's the difference between using a muslin cloth and a hot flannel? Confused

valiumredhead · 07/09/2012 12:23

silly can you not order online - MUCH cheaper!

valiumredhead · 07/09/2012 12:23

Muslin cloth is more exoliating.

daisydoodoo · 07/09/2012 12:26

tried cleanse and polish after reading on here about it, but no good for me, not sure if its too heavy, but seemed to leave a residue behind no matter how hard i polished.
It brought me out in spots, i persevered for the whole tube as thought the spots might be a result of using a new deeper cleaning product but it didnt improve.
After years of using all kinds of products, i was in a rush and in need of cleanser and picked up oil of olay anti wrinkle daily scrub and its fab. Its not too harsh and i use it in the shower everyday and then tone and moisturise, my skin is soft and brighter and spot free. (im 36 and never suffered with proper acne, just the odd spot now and again)

squoosh · 07/09/2012 12:27

I prefer flannels, they're softer, I find muslin cloths too scratchy.

valiumredhead · 07/09/2012 12:32

The old formula of C and P was far superior imo. The change of formula was def not a good thing.

Sillybillypoopoomummy · 07/09/2012 12:32

Val yes, I will be good and do that!

Aah Val

Do I need the gentle facial wash or the calming facial cleanser?

I've tried it and didnt find it that amazing. I preferred the No7 hot cloth cleanser but I can't find that anymore
The Soap and Glory peaches and clean is really good. Smells amazing and really does make my oily skin squeaky clean. It's got a lot of favourable review on blogs I've read too.

valiumredhead · 07/09/2012 12:56

I don't know about face wash, not tried it yet!

valiumredhead · 07/09/2012 12:56

Personally I would go with calming.

Pinot · 07/09/2012 13:05

YY I would choose calming
