BD, sounds good - our local curry houses do all-you-can-eat for £7.95 a head - about 6 meat/chicken curries and 6-8 veggie, various rices, pappadams and naan, bahjis, chutneys, etc - total bargain for us as we are complete pigsBlush

Kecks, Wilbur, haven't heard that in years - are you an ex-scouser too?Grin

On an S&B note, just had a very successful shopping trip with DS - got him this jacket plus hoodie and onesie from Primarni and a new school bag - a rucksack which he wanted because it's easier for cycling Shock

Planning to catch up on some zeds this afternoon (up at 4 to drop DD) and then we are going to see Private Peaceful.

Blackduck · 29/10/2012 12:01

Wilbur - your ds sounds like mine....I buy age 9/10 trousers for the length, but without a belt they end up down by his ankles, and as for his underpants, well I am sure it is an act of will that keeps them up...

You weren't in Theatre Studies were you??

wilbur · 29/10/2012 14:32

BD - yes, theatah studies and dramatic aaaart, darling! Don't tell me that's your dh's dept? I was there before the dawn of time, though, obv.

Not a scouser, BTM, think kecks came from Nottingham rellies in the distant past. That Primark boys jacket looks good and I see they have also got ski gloves. Will have to head to Tooting for a scout about. Am v excited as we have just booked a teeny ski apartment for a week at Feb half term (so teeny, I think ds2 may be sleeping in the shower stall). Haven't been for 3 years as never enough £, but we are trying a self catering, self driving ski holiday this year to see if it is doable again in the future. Will have to get out all the random bits of ski stuff we have left and see what we can cobble together for dcs. They will be decked out in sort of Frankenstein's ski outfits.

wilbur · 29/10/2012 14:33

Duh - just seen that link is to H&M. Will have to go to Wimbledon, although I also want to go to Uniqlo as well, so can do both at once.

CointreauVersial · 29/10/2012 14:46

Your weekend sounds heavenly, Strops. I find shopping with my lot a major chore as well; we spend hours in Sports Direct and Claires, but if I even slow my pace as we walk past Warehouse/Zara/Next I am hustled away. Thanks heavens for t'internet.

Blackduck · 29/10/2012 14:57

wilbur, yes.......:) I met him on a Theatre Studies Masters at another Uni, but he did his PhD there, and now works lectures there.....

Blackduck · 29/10/2012 14:58

mind you, he's about as un-luvvy as you can get.....

wilbur · 29/10/2012 15:15

BD - that is hilarious! Grin It was a great dept - still is as far as I understand - and a v happy time in my life. Still very much in touch with my fellow luvvies from those days - and most still doing something to do with theatre/drama, which is nice.

Blackduck · 29/10/2012 15:27

Oh, wonder if we know anyone in common? (wracks brains, thinking of anyone of a certain age who did theatre studies there.....)

bigTillyMint · 29/10/2012 16:26

wilbur, where are you off to skiing? We do ours cheaply every year by booking easyjet to Geneva, car hire and then staying with French friends although our English friends who come with us hire a gite for about £500 a week. Decathlon is good for cheap ski stuff. Not sure if the jacket is ski-able - think it's just softshell (DS has ski jacket that still fits...!)

CV, know what you mean about Sports Direct - grim, but cheapGrin

DH and I have the best part of tomorrow child-free, but can't decide what to do....

bigTillyMint · 29/10/2012 16:26

Oooh and new cooker and last of bedroom drawers now installed!

wilbur · 30/10/2012 12:13

We're going to La Plagne, BTM. Been there once before and it's good for beginners and lazy intermediate skiers like me. Plus I remember it had an awesome restaurant so that's going to be our treat lunch one day.

BD - bet we do know people in common, I'm sure some of my old classmates have done masters degrees in recent years.

bigTillyMint · 30/10/2012 13:32

Wilbur, I think its the norm that us crepeys prefer to meander on the green and blues than charge down the blacks Grin

Blackduck · 31/10/2012 09:03

We have broadband! Hooray!!

Wilbur have PMed you.....

motherinferior · 31/10/2012 09:31

MrsS texted me from Warsaw, where she was recovering from the Sights with Vodka Wink.

I have had just one day out of the office, and despite working a bit quite hard on other projects, it has done me the power of good. I had an original thought this morning Shock. Am also thinking of setting up a blog and pitching to be a MN blogger, wot think?

Aaahhh yes, the voddy. DH has a half-Polish mate who likes to do vodka shots at the end of an evening....

What does a MN blogger do? I am not very up with blogs!

And congrats BD!

Have just staggered in from dreadful traffic journey to pick up dcs from in laws and drop dd at friend's house to go trick or treating (dd friend lives next to Stamford Bridge and Chelsea playing ManU at home tonight, apparently [hangry]). Was spitting tacks until dh reminded me we got engaged 15 years ago tonight. Bless him for remembering. Smile. He's cooked too. Smile Smile

Blackduck · 31/10/2012 22:15

Just crawled into my city crash pad after cocktails with a friend including a freebie 'because you come here alot' (friend, not me!) she was tweeting our orders! Tres cool!!
