OP posts:
Blackduck · 23/09/2012 10:38

It's all week.

bigTillyMint · 23/09/2012 11:40

Now at A+E as DSs shoulder is throbbing. Have been waiting over an hour and a half to see a doctor (never mind xray) and have been ivertaken by loads of screaming toddlers. DS is not a happy bunny.

bigTillyMint · 23/09/2012 11:42

BD hopefully when they meet the children they will make a plan to meet all their needs?

Your poor DS, BTM, I guess it was more than just a graze..... I don't envy you the "long wait" in A&E. Touch wood, I haven't been there for a good seven years, although I did my best to put myself there the other week with my prang.

We've had a lovely "duvet afternoon" catching up on X-Factor and eating biscuits; the DCs are being quite lovely at the moment. Chicken is in the oven, laundry all done - happy days!

Grin Ruby, so what's the new DIL like??

motherinferior · 23/09/2012 18:04

Oh poor Tillyboy, I am so sorry.

And, er, Ruby, shall we buy hats?

bigTillyMint · 23/09/2012 18:51

Thanks for all your concern. Thankfully DS has not dislocated or fractured his arm (didnt think he had, but wanted to be sure) and now has special plasters to protect the huge grazes on his body. Not sure how he's going to manage his bag or writing tomorrow though, and definitely no footy training tomorrow night!

RubyShock but at least they were only holding hands under the table Grin

motherinferior · 23/09/2012 19:48

while you were there

MrsSchadenfreude · 23/09/2012 22:05

Look on the bright side Ruby. At least she wasn't wanking him off under the table, or he didn't have one hand on his fork and the other in her pants.

Mrs S !

Hope ds is okay BTM.

Ds is flatly refusing to do Bikeability - mind you looking at the weather I am not sure I would want to either....

Huge puddle at bottom of the ramp to the station platform - so we all shinny across the wall hanging on to the railings! I haven't done that since I was a kid!!

Oh, ouch for your ds, BTM, that's very painful. You could try some of this which is ££ but does seem to work wonders. It's not a very big bottle, but perhaps you could use it on the worst bits? I bought some for ds1's Harry Potter scar after his face plant in July, and it's definitely helped the raised bit of the scar and also soothed some of the redness which wasn't going away. He's only been using for a week. As an interesting aside, I think it was developed by Natasha McElhone's husband, the doctor that died Sad but used to redo children's faces where they had been damaged.

Thanks for the info about the GCSE stuff, stropps, that's very interesting. I think you're right, it sounds like the Unis will have their work cut out comparing the different years as they go through the start of a new system. And 3 x 3hr exams for GCSE science? Wow - that's way more, are they expected to reproduce Gray's Anatomy? (I just typo'ed that Gary's Anatomy, snort). I had 2 x 3hr papers for my history A-level and that covered the whole of European political history from the end of the Napoleonic Wars to the start of the Great War, plus a huge chunk of Industrial Revolution.

Ok, gotta go now, boys are fighting. Sigh.

wilbur · 24/09/2012 19:02

Update: Dh and all the cyclists in his office say: Duoderm dressings are good. Brave Soldier Ointment is meant to be good.

Here?s an article?
velonews.competitor.com/2003/05/coaches-panel/ask-the-doctor-with-dawn-richardson_3909

Hope he's feeling better tomorrow.

bigTillyMint · 24/09/2012 19:22

Oooh wilbur, that Duoderm is exactly the stuff the doctor put on DS at A&E yesterday - got to keep it on for 5 days, and she gave him more incase. It is weeping horribly - all over his school shirt (which I have luckily managed to wash out) eeuuuwww! I will keep the other stuff in mind, thanks! Can't get on your velonews link though.
He is actually loads better and can now rotate his arm properly!

In other non_S&B news, our PC is at the menders, Dyson awaiting new parts (which hopefully will turn up before Friday when the new cleaner starts (who hopefully will be reliable, unlike the one I have just "let go")) and the oven door has finally bitten the dust, and as they don't do any replacements, etc, necessitates a new range cooker. After 9ish yearsShock

Wow, it's so easy to fall behind here. Thanks for kind and thoughtful messages about husband. He's doing better but still horribly tired.

I'm still goggling at the thought of making 36 muffins before breakfast.

Very sorry to hear about BTMs sore and grazed son

Hadn't realised that dd (year 9) would be so affected by the Gove changes - need to do some swotting there myself.

On a cheerful note, choir is the most fun I've had with my clothes on for quite a while Grin

Blackduck · 25/09/2012 08:51

alto1 - that's MrsS - Superwoman AND International Woman of Mystery :)

Ds had a bash at Level1 but the instructors said he was too far behind and it wasn't going to work so he isn't doing bikeability. It is now all our fault he can't ride a bike......

MrsSchadenfreude · 25/09/2012 15:04

In Geneva this week (continuing International Woman of Mystery theme). AB emailing me incessantly and still asking for stuff at very short deadline. I know why - he is arsey with me because I told him to be the bigger person and not continue a passive aggressive email exchange with a member of my staff (whom I also told to grow up).

Set myself target of writing 5,000 words this week in the evenings, but have achieved nothing as have been out drinking every night too tired after a long day.

bigTillyMint · 25/09/2012 18:34

Oh God, got a follow-up letter from the mammogram - I have got to go to the hospital next Tuesday. Gulp.

alto1 · 25/09/2012 19:20

Sorry to hear that, BTM - hope it turns out to be routine and boring. Bound to be uncomfortable waiting to find out, though.

bigTillyMint · 25/09/2012 19:38

Thanks. I know that on balance it is likely to be nothing, and I can't feel any lumps or anything, but it's a bit worrying to be called back.
