Oh no Herbs Sad Call the couriers and ask.

herbaceous · 15/09/2012 18:14

I think they're a Mon-Fri operation.

In a moment of madness, I bought not one but two hoodies in H&M P'Boro - one sunflower yellow, one emerald green. Very with-it, I'm sure.

But it's not even that I forgot! I opted for the "fast track" service to ensure we got one on time, as the quoted sox-week normal turnaround would have cut it fine. And now look.

Although admittedly, in the ensuing panic I've lost both my keys and my birth certificate.

Blackduck · 15/09/2012 22:00

Creme? Okay?

Passports, do recall Dp doing a Peterborough number many moons ago and ending up with a blue passport (yes that long ago) that had such a weird number that we had 1 years of passport checks..,, fingers crossed herbs....

Blackduck · 15/09/2012 22:03

10 years... His number was something like 0000000045
Smile

Next passport he grew a full beard had photo and then on passport issue promptly shaved it off (where is desk head emoticon)

CointreauVersial · 15/09/2012 22:38

Sending you soothing, calming vibes, Herbs; it sounds like a stressful day.

We spent the afternoon traipsing round garages, doing some prework in anticipation of my car being written off. What a pain, having to replace a car you are perfectly happy with, with something which is no better but costs £3k more. Angry

But at least I don't have stretchmarks!

Cremola, hope you are OK.....

herbaceous · 15/09/2012 22:42

But yes. I don't have stretchmarks either. Somehow.

TheReturnOfStropperella · 15/09/2012 22:57

I am One Big Stretchmark

Blackduck · 16/09/2012 10:04

I don't have stretch marks either...
Ds enjoyed his meetup with old school friends - less fraught that I thought it would be.
Herbs hope it all works out

bigTillyMint · 16/09/2012 10:29

Stropps, how come your bra-buying was fruitless? It can't be because you refused to get measured up and had a toddler-tantrum in JL (ala mini-TillyMint)! And there's nothing like a mammogram to make you feel old and wizened, but at least you can look away!

DS off to first footy match with new team - all pumped-up in his new tracksuitSmile Funny how he was one of the smaller ones on his old team, but is now the biggest despite this being the A-team!

Am amazed I have no hangover after having friends over last night - maybe I'm still drunk?!

TheReturnOfStropperella · 16/09/2012 11:39

BTM, I am (apparently) an extremely peculiar shape, as is dd. We spent an hour (!) with a bra fitter who couldn't find anything at all to fit either of us. There is one type of over-priced Triumph bra that fits me and the shop didn't stock that one. dd eventually found something in M&S that wasn't a great fit but will have to do for the meantime. There ain't a lot of choice in 32DD for young teens..

MrsSchadenfreude · 16/09/2012 11:40

I may have stretchmarks which have scared childless friends into saying that they never, ever want children, but I have no cellulite despite being a porker. I will cling onto that while the rest of me goes to pot (stretchmarks, wrinkles, grey hair, swinging tits etc).

I have just been to the market where I bought cheese (lots: comte, a smoked tomme, some St Nectaire and gruyere), lots of fruit, some tomatoes, garlic, veg. I also popped into Bonsoir's DP's shop and treated myself to some La Roche Posay BB cream. I will report back in due course. I am now going to eat bread, cheese, interesting tomatoes and gherkins for lunch, washed down with wine, and then I am going to make some chutney, a cheesecake and peel the little onions I bought for pickling. I may also have a bit of a nap.

MrsSchadenfreude · 16/09/2012 11:42

Strops, can you take your DD to Debenhams? DD1 (32FF) got some bras from Bravissimo (at ££££), and then we went to Debenhams, which had a load reduced and picked her up some nice T shirt bras for not very much at all (we got two of their own make for £10 for the two).

bigTillyMint · 16/09/2012 12:05

Stropps, you looked perfectly normal to me when I last saw youConfused
DD seems to be a 26 -which doesn't exist, so that'll be a 28C or D, but as she refused to get properly measured... Anyway, teen-style 26C/D are extremely hard to come by.

Bonsoirs DP has a shop? Bet it only stocke the bestSmile

A nap sounds good, but I must prepare lunch and think about dinner and what we can eat next week, and then I have agreed to go with DH and DS biking round various shops (hopefully passing Boots to see if they have a mag), especially Sports Direct to get replacement footy boots for DS and a mouth guard for DD and then to the cafe in the park.

bigTillyMint · 16/09/2012 14:29

Omg just got the mag - photos even worse than I remember. I look like I have helmet-head hair. And the other crepey had fantastic skin and looked lovely. Oh wellSmile

TheReturnOfStropperella · 16/09/2012 15:40

Darn it, I was in Boots earlier and forgot to pick up a mag Shock - I will have to write it on the list.

I just took dd to a local food festival and had a very tasty curry with crunchy veg followed by an enormous cupcake. I do appreciate a good helping of buttercream. Mmm. Dd was snarfing wildboar and apple sausages and then had a waffle that was about the size of her head. And that was after scoffing all the free samples she could get her hands on. She now says she feels a tad poorly. I wonder why Hmm

MrsS, thank you very much for the Debenhams hint. I'm now kicking myself for not thinking to look there - duh! Will drag dd in next w/e, plus this has reminded me that years ago I did find one sort that fitted me in there. BTM, not sure what my prob is, but I have to admit that if I was ready to graduate up to those extra-firm old lady bras that start just under your collarbone and end at your waist, I could probably find something that would fit Grin

I actually had a nightmare last night where I realised that my entire body was covered in huge purple stretchmarks. It's obviously my subconscious reminding me again of the fact that things could be worse Grin

Cremolafoam · 16/09/2012 15:46

So the low down:
Mum went into hospital on Monday for routine thing- still there as has contracted some kind of infection
Tuesday I went round to dad to cook him a bit of dinner. He insisted on getting out some photos off a top shelf and while I was stirring the dinner he fell off the chair and has badly hurt his knee( broken patella ) and he is now in hospital in traction as he only had a new hip 4 months ago.
Thursday dd was robbed at the bus stop on the way home from school( she's ok but very weepy)

Dragged myself into work on Friday - arriving into an emergency meeting to say that we were being made redundant .Sad

I inhaled a bottle of red on Friday night( puled it straight back up) even though I don't really drink anymore

Mum doing better today. Sister just started midwife training in same hospital so keeping an eye on her.
Dad in a bad way- vvv depressed
Dd panicking about getting bus so dh arranged flexi this week and will collect her

Gawd stewthSad

Oh my, Cremola. That is a truly awful week. I'm so sorry you and your family are having such a bad time.

Cremolafoam · 16/09/2012 15:52

Hasn't even sunk in about the job yet tbh

bigTillyMint · 16/09/2012 16:17

Oh Cremola that's awful. Poor you and your family Sad

Hopefully your dad is in shock ATM, and will get a bit more positive. And good that your sister is at the hosp to keep an eye - are they both at the same one?
Poor DD. Was she mugged for her phone? I bet she feels panicky - good that your DH can collect her this week. Does she have any friends/aquaintances she could travel with? Could the school suggest anyone?

Don't know what to say about your job - when will it be?

alto1 · 16/09/2012 18:15

That really is a horrible week Cremola, sorry to hear it.

DameSaggarmakersbottomknocker · 16/09/2012 19:00

Blimey Cremola that really is the week from hell. I'm so sorry.

motherinferior · 16/09/2012 19:16

Cremola, that week is beyond awful. I'm so very, very sorry.

CointreauVersial · 16/09/2012 19:41

Cremola, noooo....well, they say bad luck comes in threes, so hopefully that's your lot for the next ten years. You poor thing.

How much notice of redundancy do you have? Are they giving you a decent deal and assistance in finding anything else, or are you out on your ear?
