Bio oil?

Bad stretch marks and while moisturiser is helping, bio oil seems to work better for me.

I'd like to buy a large bottle, but Boots is quite expensive - and I'm a bit wary of random chemists on the Internet.

Help?

Have you tried baby oil? Worked just as good on wet skin for me!

CarpeJugulum · 25/08/2012 08:00

Using baby oil at the mo, and it's not quite doing the job as bio oil did. Sad

I think they have this in home bargains

TheGruffalosbitch · 25/08/2012 08:57

Costco x

Amazon!

Bio oil has a lot of mineral oil in it - can you find the ingredients list? I bet the active oils are what helps - the plant ones - and big bottles of plant oils are very cheap on amazon or eBay.

Right it looks as though it has 2 vitamin oils which will be what helps your skin - A and E.

[[http://www.bio-oil.com/en/product/ingredients ingredients here (look at all those petro chems!)

I'd buy a bottle of vitamin E oil, I can't think of a fit A oil... Unless you fancy rubbing yourself with fish oil?! I'm sure another mnetter will know. I'd have thought that the vit E oil will be what's helping your skin.

I buy mine from lloyds pharmacy as quite often they run a half price bio oil promotion and I stock up. Keep an eye out they usually advertise it when it is on in national press but also keep an eye on their website

LackingNameChangeInspiration · 25/08/2012 21:20

how much is it usually? TJ Hughes has it: www.tjhughes.co.uk/fcp/product/brands-for-less//Bio-Oil/76

Aldi do a version too don't they?

I didn't rate it though, wasn't quite enough, prefer mama bee if splashing out or coconut oil from health food shop

SisterMaryStigmata · 25/08/2012 22:20

Can't help with the Bio oil question (sorry!), but I thought I'd share what I used to get rid of my stretchmarks from DC1 - the Therapy massage bar from Lush.

It really helped my skin go back to its normal state, and I used it all through my second pregnancy and didn't get any new marks. It's £6.50 and lasts ages

Tk maxx had some in a few weeks ago very cheap. Might not still have it, but worth a look.

cerealqueen · 25/08/2012 22:45

Wilkinsons well it too, I think. Or try Amazon (which tend to be cheapest for most things!)
