I've found a cure for spots

Spent two weeks in Dubai in the sun everyday, but with factor 30 on my face. I get a LOT of hormonal spots on my chin and the scars last for months. They have cleared up more in the last two weeks than in the last six months! Also a new spot that fought its way to the surface during my holiday also healed much more quickly than ever before. Maybe I should emigrate...

My sister has annoying spotty/dry skin, and the only time it has ever been good is when she lived in Asia for a couple of years! In fairness, it has never been as bad since, so maybe it affected it for life Smile

I am applying 3 drops Rosehip oil morning and night and it is miraculous on my adult acne.

IShallPracticeMyCurtsey · 21/08/2012 11:13

rosehip oil, you say?

AmberLeaf · 21/08/2012 11:17

My theory is its the oil.

I've found a cure for spots too! Its organic virgin coconut oil costs abot £10 for a 500ml tub on ebay. Cured my spotty teens spots miraculously and my skin has never looked so good.

snozzlemaid · 21/08/2012 11:44

My cure is becoming 40!
Everything else is falling apart but spots I've suffered with since being a teenager have gone!

peppapigpants · 21/08/2012 11:45

snozzle, that won't work for me...I'm already 44!

I think that's true about the sun. I gave started the oil cleansing method and it's brilliant.

snozzlemaid · 21/08/2012 11:48

Ah well peppapigpants, hope that doesn't mean mine will return! Six months of being 40 and so far so good.

LolaAnn · 21/08/2012 20:41

Sun + Coconut Oil does work wonders on mine too!

MikeLitorisRings · 21/08/2012 22:18

My skin always clears up when on hols too. I put it down to the sea water.

I use a sun cream here in the summer and it make zero difference to my skin.

Springforward · 21/08/2012 22:20

So what do you do with the cocnut oil?

HoleyGhost · 21/08/2012 22:23

This always happened to me, I'm wondering if it is the vitamin d? I've had the worst acne ever after not being exposed to the sun much this year or last. Started taking supplements and they seem to be doing the trick.

I'm sure it won't work for everyone, but if it does for me I'll even givr sunbeds a go

I'v

MikeLitorisRings · 21/08/2012 22:27

So tomorrow I'm buying coconut oil and vit d supplements.

That exactly do I do with the oil? Confused

Ploom · 21/08/2012 22:29

The open pores on my nose are always much better when I'm in the sun. Wish I could have sun on my face all year round.

SunWukong · 21/08/2012 22:32

I'm using a mix of Coconut and Sweet Almond on my face it seems to do the job of keeping things at bay, I was getting spotty with just the almond after olive oil OCM.

(plus I only do OCM once a week and use a wet sponge followed by rose water on cotton wool the rest of the time).

Tempernillo · 21/08/2012 22:34

oil cleansing method is my secret weapon! Smile

Tempernillo · 21/08/2012 22:35

Oops, been mentioned already! Grin

TaggieCampbellBlack · 21/08/2012 22:37

Sunshine and sudocreme.

IAmRubyLennox · 22/08/2012 08:43

Same here, but I do think it's got something to do with de-stressing too. I've been off work since 19 July, and in that time I've spent 3 weeks in the south of France with only my normal moisturiser with high SPF on my face. Spots have pretty much gone and my skin tone is a lot better too, much more even.

I actually went out the other day here at home with no makeup on whatsoever, and the last time I did that was about 25 years ago.

Yesterday evening we went out to eat and so I put on my normal full face of makeup and thought I looked really weird.

LynetteScavo · 22/08/2012 08:47

I thought someone else had discovered this

sunshine is great for spots.

Nabootique · 22/08/2012 10:13

Ooh, can I put in a shout out for Herbalism from Lush? I'd been on various brands of the pill and had some lotion from the doctor, but this stuff was the only thing that sorted my skin out.

Krumbum · 22/08/2012 12:01

The sun never does this for me. When I've been away of stayed as pimpley as ever.

minipie · 22/08/2012 13:15

Sun helps my acne, but suncream/sweat makes it worse, so the two kind of cancel each other out.

Ruby I think I agree about de-stressing - I am unusually unstressed at the moment and my skin is better than it's been for ages.

Those of you mentioning oil - are you using it to clean your face, or as a moisturiser?

Tempernillo · 22/08/2012 15:27

To cleanse mini. If you look further back in the thread I have linked to instructions! Smile

HazleNutt · 22/08/2012 15:38

If you find that sun cures the spots then you want to buy this here:
www.amazon.co.uk/Lumie-Clear-Therapy-Treatment-System/dp/B003G3VU3E/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1345646244&sr=8-9

LolaAnn · 22/08/2012 15:39

I use to cleanse and when my skin is feeling tight as a moisturiser. I also take vitamin D supps. D3 is what you want, and get some vitamin K while you're at it to help you absorb it.
