Best I could do. Jump in!

Lol

OllieinOrange · 16/08/2012 21:15

I have another idea to throw into the mix. We could set up a W&A Pinterest board on which everyone can pin. That way we still get to share links with everyone.
Easy to set up and add names of Pinners. A FB group could be for the personal stuff?

Very touched by all the lovely lurker comments.

OllieinOrange · 16/08/2012 21:18

Bit concerned that Bloss will come back off hols to find a 'W&A have left the building' sign hanging on the MN front page Smile

mintgreentiger · 16/08/2012 21:21

Ah, I agree with all the other de-lurkers, you would be sorely missed if you go - yy that the links are like a fab version of MN Vogue.

Return to work has been ok, thanks. Finding it harder than I thought I would to get my head around not being as committed to (and therefore not feeling as good at) the job as I was before, and I miss hanging out with DD. Having lunch at leisure without having to share everything with a sticky-handed toddler is pretty good though!

Hopefully · 16/08/2012 21:21

Oh, I'm a bit Sad at the thought of w&a leaving MN. I know I wouldn't keep up as religiously, and I think it would only be a matter of time before the same thing Dona has experienced happened again. There are only, what, maybe 30 of us who post with any sort of regularity?

NotSoGrumpy · 16/08/2012 21:21

Amber I guess fit flop ballet pumps would be one way to tone down a tight work dress Grin

Dona your weekend sounds fabulously glamorous. I am Envy

DH bought me the dark blue davina, I really liked the teal when I tried it on but I think the blue will be easier to wear. As for Davina exercise DVDs, it's only Jillian M for me. One of my friends is a big fan of her podcasts, apparently she did a great one after she adopted and her partner had a baby about how she'd given mothers a hard time in the past about not finding time to exercise and now she understood how hard it was to even find time to brush your hair.

FritziGreenEyes · 16/08/2012 21:25

nsg I absolutely love JM's podcasts. All very American pep-talk like of course but a lot of food for thought too.

Russianred · 16/08/2012 21:25

I think Ollie's idea is one of extreme brilliance. Just had a play to see if it is possible and it will work beautifully - inclusive, we can all comment on posts and, most importantly, no need to click on links and have to juggle various pages as it is all there in one page.

NotSoGrumpy · 16/08/2012 21:28

Ok, stupid question but i'm not on Pinterest because I couldn't work out how to join without it being linked to my FB account which I wasn't keen on. Can it be done?

MarshaBrady · 16/08/2012 21:30

I like all pin, fb and here. Sorry am such a floosy. Blush

NSG set up a fake twitter account in your mn name and do not anywhere type your rl name as you set it up (for user name etc).

FritziGreenEyes · 16/08/2012 21:31

Think you can de-activate link from Pinterest to your FB profile.

Owl print skinnies anyone?

rufus101 · 16/08/2012 21:32

Am so so shallow. Very impressed by us being the Vogue of MN!
Like Dona and Hopefully, I just think the thread would die a death if it was closed. Already feel that about pin interest as much as I like it. Very envious if your weekend Dona. Not fair. When can I have a big persons weekend?
MIM I was dying to ask about coil but given the current climate felt I couldn't!
Decam I know someone who got pregnant with mirena. More common than you think. Obs said to her afterwards "well, maybe it fell out and you just didn't notice". She said "well, I know I'm a busy woman, but seriously I think Id have noticed that" (she is a dr. as well btw)

Lizzylou · 16/08/2012 21:34

A delurker here too.
I have followed your thread from the very start. You all provide a service.
I have met Hells (how beautiful?) and confided in her then how I took my style tips from you all. This was 2/3 years ago!
Please don't go, I don't look often (and to be perfectly honest I only skim for the links! I have enough real life with my own friends and family! Virtual or not) I just want to know what I should be wearing.
You are providing a service, if you go I will have to buy fleeces and bootcut Next jeans!!!
No pressure.

NotSoGrumpy · 16/08/2012 21:41

Lizzylou will you wear mum boots or fitflop ballet pumps with your fleece and bootcuts Grin?

Oh dear, I really should get off MN and tidy the house...

OllieinOrange · 16/08/2012 21:43

Something to keep the lovely lurkers happy Smile
Zara has some lovely things at the moment

like this. And this. But really adore this This jumper

DonaAna · 16/08/2012 21:43

Wolf fleeces Lizzy Grin
Does anyone wear a onepiece
Kisses to all (triple - switching to pre party mode) - need to sleep.

trixymalixy · 16/08/2012 21:45

I've never had my Pinterest linked to Facebook.

I've lurked for a while too. Have to admit to a style crush on LTEC (where'd she go anyway?) sorry Amber.

I bloody hate my copper coil, the first one fell out while on holiday in Rome. The second was v uncomfortable to begin with and I don't quite trust it and I now always have to wear panty liners, tmi sorry. I need to get DH to go for the snip...

MarshaBrady · 16/08/2012 21:45

Is it still ok to link to pin?

Or does it throw up problems, it would be hard to work out. But just checking before I do...

Theweek · 16/08/2012 21:49

Another long-term lurker.
As others have said, I lurk for the links not to be privy to your family/friends/life details.
I totally understand if you do decide to go but you will be missed! Husband will probably be happy with regard to bank balance Wink
Thakyou ladies for my fab, wise and avid wardrobe Smile

Portia4 · 16/08/2012 21:50

Dsis got pregnant last year with Mirena, ended up with ectopic pregnancy and had to have coil removed, wasn't a nice experience! I have had a number of contraceptive implants, they last 3 years and I suffered no side effects.

Amber a mean girls clique!? Would we have to buy Fitflops!?

Have just finished tense negotiations with DD2 over a proposed party next week, the agreed terms are 70 teenagers, between the hours of 8 and 1pm, I must be mad!

Dd3 has a ballet performance tomorrow, so I spent the evening making a tophat and tail for her show, that's as S&B as it is here.

Russianred · 16/08/2012 21:51

So, which one of you lurkers got the size 38 Pistols then (still resentful) Wink?

Yes who was it? Who got lucky!

FritziGreenEyes · 16/08/2012 21:52

portia 70!? Shock Think I will need lots of advice from you on how to handle teenagers when DD gets to that age!

Think we should keep the thread plus possible extra forums and celebrate new beginnings by finding a new name: "Mumsnet Vogue" wouldn't be too pretentious, would it? Grin

Lizzylou · 16/08/2012 21:53

God yes, Trixy, LTEC and TraceyBath.
Despite being 3x the size of them!

I know some still walk amongst us.

Now Hells is not here I shamelessly scour for links. I still wear some UA cropped combats that were linked 3 years ago (perhaps where I am going wrong).
Please don't go, we need you. And in all honesty I couldn't tell you anything personal about any of you regulars. I am brazen in my need for fast fashion.
If you go I will be forced to wear crocs, a wolf fleece and slightly too short bootcuts!
