Best I could do. Jump in!

decam new jeans are these they only work with heels but I wanted a change from skinnies and they are SO flattering.

mrscb so glad all went well at the hospital, I've had some really positive experiences of the NHS since becoming a mum, starting with DD1's birth.

suburban so sorry about FIL, that must be really worrying for your DP. on a shallower note, I bought a walnut art deco dressing table on eBay for £100 and I love it. It's not in mint condition but I like older furniture.

As for mice, I'm such a city girl that we found one (dead) mouse in the downstairs loo and I called in the pest control people who put down traps and mesh over all the holes the mice could get in through. Problem solved!

Lovely dress amber but I think it would be too much for my workplace (civil service).

blue2711 · 14/08/2012 21:07

Going uniform and shoe shopping on Thursday with DS. To be followed by lunch in the JL cafe. Really excited for this next big stage in his life!

MrsCampbellBlack · 14/08/2012 21:10

Amber - its the rear view of the dress - its very very clingy over the rear. But depends if you're in a young/sexy office or not.

Decameron · 14/08/2012 21:20

Nice jeans, NSG.

I'm sure he'll be fine by the time he starts school, Blue.

You are stoic, MrsCB. I'd be running down the road screaming like a banshee, phoning rentokill as I fled. I'm pathetic when faced with rodents. Glad your DD is over the procedure now.

Decameron · 14/08/2012 21:21

Stoic? I mean brave!

Decameron · 14/08/2012 21:23

And also stoic. It just looks wrong. Anyway, back to Glorious 39.

AmberNectarine · 14/08/2012 21:32

Hmm, might order it to try. Am slightly alarmed at the Kim K reference though... I'm not client facing so I can be slightly more daring than some.

Is it wrong that I am jealous of the various rodents? I have been trying to entice the hedgehog back but not seen him yet.

Have just hoovered the sofa and found the thin controller, one of the phone handsets, mrs potato head's ear and £2.35. Oh, and enough crumbs and gummy bears to end world hunger. Should probably do it more often.

Am avoiding GBBO and watching Secret Eaters instead. Tactical.

NotSoGrumpy · 14/08/2012 21:40

Amber I'm so impressed, I'm watching CSI with a (large) glass of wine and moaning about our cleaner being on holiday. I just reminded DH that we're going to Lollibop, he looked at the website and said 'this looks like hell, can I wear earplugs?'

MidnightinMoscow · 14/08/2012 21:43

Blue it's a pain, I agree. I am thinking of stopping with DS, he isan't really getting it, and it's causing a lot of upset.

Glad DD is ok MrsCB, but how stressful for you. Lovely to hear that you both had a good experience though.

Watched GBBO, am already annoyed by the smug bloke with the perfect union jack cake.

blue that leather skirt is fabulous, and if you remember a leather mini was on my original AW wishlist, even when I was pregnant. So thank you for the link.

Always here are the boots.

Sorry to hear about your FIL Suburban, what are the follow up plans for him?

I agree with SE, mice in blocks of flats are a nightmare to deal with. When I worked in Whitechapel, I would often see rats roaming the streets. Hideous.

MrsCampbellBlack · 14/08/2012 21:45

NSG - my cleaner also on holiday and possibly the worst week for her to do so. I was hoovering and mopping at 6.30 am.

Amber - I love Kim K though.

Dec - well one lives with fields on 2 sides - got to expect mice I guess. My bloody cats better have 2 dead mice on my floor tomorrow or I will be very unimpressed.

AmberNectarine · 14/08/2012 21:54

NSG don't be, it's only because I invited MIL over tomorrow in a fit of temporary insanity and have been out enjoying myself all day. We are Lollibopping too, DS loved it last year!

TMI question alert: is it normal for your periods to be much heavier post birth (only had one between DCs)?

Decameron · 14/08/2012 21:56

MrsCB, get a Jack Russell, they will demouse your house!

OllieinOrange · 14/08/2012 21:56

jpg loved your post.

MrsCampbellBlack · 14/08/2012 21:57

Oh God Amber - hideously so. My Dr friend said it was because cervix much more efficient so they tend to be heavier but shorter.

OllieinOrange · 14/08/2012 22:06

MiM quick medical question if I may. What would you say was the best way to take a childs temperature? DS1 is never ill but think has overdone it at football camp today and had a temperature before bedtime. I have an ear thermometer but DH has always maintained they are not reliable. What method do you use?

Hopefully · 14/08/2012 22:08

Mine are incredibly heavy post DC - used to be 4-5 days, now all but over in 36-48 hours of crazy heaviness. Not any more painful for me, but I have friends who say theirs are worse, pain-wise.

Missed GBBO due to DS2 sleeping on me, will catch up on iplayer tomorrow night.

Amber I like the dress but would wear it with not-too-sexy heels.

MrsCampbellBlack · 14/08/2012 22:09

Ollie - the nurses used ear thermometers at the hospital today - many times.

Not that I'm suggesting I'm medical although DD wants me to dress up as a Dr Wink

Now watching Bad Education - I love Jack Whitehall.

OllieinOrange · 14/08/2012 22:15

MrsCB Lets just say they seem overly keen here of using a different orifice to take temps Shock. I ALWAYS use the ear thingy - in an ear obviously. Smile

MidnightinMoscow · 14/08/2012 22:16

Yes ear ones are very reliable. However take it in both ears to confirm.

amber mine were too.

AmberNectarine · 14/08/2012 22:16

Our in ear thermometer is rubbish or I am useless, kids always come out hypothermic!

Glad to hear I'm normal then, was worrying! Thanks for reassurance!

MidnightinMoscow · 14/08/2012 22:17

Well that is the most accurate method Ollie but possibly not the most enjoyable for the patient!

MrsCampbellBlack · 14/08/2012 22:18

Ollie - oh they like everything up the bum don't they - painkillers etc Wink

Amber - tis very grim especially when one hasn't had periods for 3 or so years.

OllieinOrange · 14/08/2012 22:19

Blue. I am loving Pinterest too. Keep seeing lots of pins on the Womans Clothing pages of the coloured J Crew bib necklaces. They are really growing on me after seeing them styled in so many ways.

MarshaBrady · 14/08/2012 22:20

Mine too.

Am watching Sean Penn in Accused. Ah he picked up the knife. Good acting in it.

MarshaBrady · 14/08/2012 22:20

Bean!
