My old trusty pleather one died, and I need a new one that fits wallet, phone, keys and perhaps a nappy and wipes.
Budget - any for ideas, in reality up to £100.
Colours - not black or white. Summer colours ideally, for other colour analysis fans.
Material - any considered. Even pleather (just worked out the bag that died is 4 years old, was used every day and cost a tenner), but I would like something more 'grown up'.
Style - I usually wear skinnies, bretons and blazer.

this one any good , its been likened to the Anya Hindmarch Gracie on here...?

TaffyandTeenyTaffy · 06/08/2012 21:35

I have a Radley one - possibly the Belsize - although I think I may have got mine from an outlet as I thought I paid about £40-50 rather than £80-100!.

I also have a lovely red samsonite fabric/canvas type one from TK Maxx which was £10 - so may be worth a look there.

holler · 06/08/2012 21:38

Oh, I really like it. Only concern is whether it's too pale to cope with being bashed around in normal life with toddler. Love the Gracie, but prefer this price!

I adore these quilted (pleather) ones at Therapy:

www.houseoffraser.co.uk/Therapy+Nicole+chain+cross+body+bag/165695992,default,pd.html

Various colours available.

I just ordered the black patent after seeing it in store. A great size and lovely strap, pretty great considering the material too.

Two of my friends have the lovely Mulberry Antony in olive-like a tiny messenger bag in beautiful soft leather-I had a look on their website and I can't believe they spent £350 on a small bag!!!
I would go to TKMax...

Madammecholet · 06/08/2012 21:51

Yeah I love the Gracie too, but too £££ for me. At least this colour will go with everything in you're wardrobe being fairly neutral??... I'm tough on bags too with 2 DC's and have a few light bags, you just need to make sure you use a good cleaner like Collonil every 6-8 weeks or so,I've a light cream one from last year that still looks new - altho my DD has tried her best to destroy it!Grin

what about this

Or any others on this site? I haven't ordered from them but I like a lot of the designs and they have a huge choice of colours.

stressheaderic · 06/08/2012 22:02

Nica bags
To be honest, these are all lovely. I'd have all of 'em. Hardwearing too, my mum's been using hers for years and it looks brand new. Often Nica bargains to be found in TK Maxx and the sale is good.

poorbuthappy · 06/08/2012 22:08

TK Maxx is your friend...

hiviolet · 06/08/2012 22:55

Have a look at TK Maxx online. They usually have some nice Osprey cross body bags for around £30.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 06/08/2012 23:04

Kipling do a nice range (lots of non-leather which pleases the vegetarian sorts)
Loads of different sizes and colours.
And yes, you can take the blasted monkey off Grin

GnocchiNineDoors · 06/08/2012 23:06

Fossil do great bags, I cant link from my phone but I have a smallish tan one with a key dangly thing.

Itsgottabebags · 06/08/2012 23:25

Also look in TK Maxx if you like Fossil...

fabulousfrancesca · 06/08/2012 23:28

I have this one from Tesco
I've got a red one that was from tkmaxx too.

CointreauVersial · 07/08/2012 00:09

That Tesco bag is bargainacious. How big is it?

shorttermnamechange · 07/08/2012 12:13

I know Radley is despised on here, but I bought a lovely red cross body bag from John Lewis in the sale for £55. It is so comfortable to wear and very well made. I love it and it will last for years.

Hetaera · 07/08/2012 12:15

Bargainous real leather in Jones Bootmakers.

daimbardiva · 07/08/2012 12:22

Quite a few nice ones at http://www.clarks.co.uk/c/bags-cross-body#page-is-2-and-pagesize-is-20 Clarks that fit your bill

Banderchang · 07/08/2012 15:32

Have you looked at Mia Tui? Big range of colours and their Grace bag is cross body.

Banderchang · 07/08/2012 15:33

Grace bag

Artdes · 07/08/2012 15:38

I would suggest looking to FOSSIL - I got mine from there, roomy enough for a nappy small wipes & a bottle, purse, keys, phone, wallet etc... It has a few compartments too, as it's material its not too heavy either. Hands free to grab the little when when they suddenly change direction for no apparent reason!!

Artdes · 07/08/2012 15:39

yea and T K Maxx definitely worth a look
