I mean, the insoles goes black with the mark of your feet, it looks so dirty and horrible...some models are pretty and people say it is comfortable but...

No.

ENormaSnob · 31/07/2012 14:01

I like them.

daisydoodoo · 31/07/2012 14:01

no they are fine, just wash them! they go black depending on how dirty your feet are. but i just wash them with hot soapy water after a day at the beach or somewhere mucky and they come up fine.

SirEdmundFrillary · 31/07/2012 14:03

I like them.

Panzee · 31/07/2012 14:16

I think they look horrendous.

Quite! No different from any other sandal and if anything Birkenstocks are better as they are made of cork so don't end up stinky.

Zwitterion · 31/07/2012 14:35

Mine are disgusting. Filthy in fact. And knackered. But so comfy. I can't bring myself to throw them away even though the backs have completely worn away.

MousyMouse · 31/07/2012 14:36

no and they are soooooooooo comfy

BonnieBumble · 31/07/2012 14:38

I don't find them comfortable at all. My friends all told me to persevere so I wore them for two summers but still found them to be the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever worn. Not even bothering with them this year. They don't even look particularly stylish, not sure what all the fuss is about really!

MissMogwi · 31/07/2012 14:39

No. I love mine. My feet never look dirty in them and they don't stink either.
They go with everything I wear and more importantly they are comfy. Job done.

BigBandwitch · 31/07/2012 14:42

I think they're awful. but there's a kind of oooh look how slim and toned i am that i can still look good in these awful old yokes kind of vibe about them.

MissMogwi · 31/07/2012 14:51

I can honestly say I never ever think 'look how slim and toned I look'. Grin

We can't all like the same thing can we.

sheeplikessleep · 31/07/2012 14:53

I think they're comfy if standing still, in that they mould to your feet.

BUT, is it just me or are they soooo stiff when actually walking in them? I feel quite clumpy, as there's no 'bend' like other shoes, in the sole?

BellaOfTheBalls · 31/07/2012 14:54

I live in mine. I don't care that they turn my feet black or that they go manky. They are comfortable, support my feet and my Papillo ones are pretty.

So no, I don't.

SirEdmundFrillary · 31/07/2012 15:02

You'n me both, Miss Grin

OneOfMyTurnsComingOn · 31/07/2012 15:04

God I love mine. They are about the only thing that look ok on my feet for summer. Dead comfy, and great for my flat feet.

BonnieBumble · 31/07/2012 15:10

Yes Sheep, I find them very stiff too. I don't find flat shoes easy to walk in at all.

AbsofAwesomeness · 31/07/2012 15:39

They're not pretty, but they're not in the same league as crocs for disgustingness. I saw someone on their way to work yesterday, suit, and everything, with wet hair and crocs. It was just so ... wrong

HeartsJandJ · 31/07/2012 15:44

Yeah wet hair on the way to work looks odd full stop. Let alone with crocs added in to the mix. Like people who wear suits with trainers, I get the point but it looks strange to me. Especially bright white ones.

HeartsJandJ · 31/07/2012 15:45

OTOH though I love Birkenstocks. With dry hair. And casual clothes.

MadBusLady · 31/07/2012 16:02

I have high arches and bunions, wide feet at the front and narrow at the back and if you purpose-designed a shoe to be as uncomfortable, flappy and clodhoppy as possible for me you could not do better than the Birkenstock. Yet another area of S&B where I have to read what magazines say and assume that for me the total polar opposite is true. Grin

SpringHeeledJack · 31/07/2012 16:05

I got my first pair in 1996 and wore them till November (feet were going a shade of blue) when they had to be wrenched off me

I bloody love em

and the healthy Germans what make em Grin

QuenelleOJersey2012 · 31/07/2012 16:06

No. I like them. I couldn't wear anything else when I was pregnant because my feet were so swollen for the last three months. And they've lasted so well that I still wear them now that DS is 3.

And I let my frizzy curly hair dry naturally so it is always wet when I am on my way to work. I get up early enough already, I'm not getting up any earlier just so my hair is dry when I leave the house. I don't wear suits though.

complexo · 31/07/2012 16:26

And how about Havaianas? Who loves and who loathes it?
