alwaysrunninginheels yes the tag along comes off easily, it attaches to the seat post. It's changed our weekends, we can all get out for a long ride together.

Emo76 · 27/07/2012 14:23

rufus I just love those whistles leather trim trousers - lusting after hopefully's trews but realistically the whistles ones might just do the trick.. Ordering.

carciofi I am flabbergasted re your supermarket experience, I like to think in that situation I would have a sharp, direct comeback but you just don't expect that kind of unsolicited "advice" do you? How dare she!

black mini Gracie has had a WHOLE WEEK of use. marsha I realise how much I unescessarily lug around, I remember when you got your orange celine and you said as much. I have seen the light.

blossoming · 27/07/2012 14:24

That's good to know wheresthecake, thanks. I'll be looking for one in a few years too.
Good idea that ants. Are you still by the pool Envy?
Hi to gos!

VerityBrulee · 27/07/2012 14:30

Hope you Londoners are enjoying the Olympic excitement!

Emo I love the liberating feeling of a small bag!

We have been to the beach for the last 2 days, so much fun, although quite chilly this morning so didn't stay so long! Dec my seaside reading was Grazia which has Gold Pistols from My Wardrobe, might be an alternative to the red?

Feeling exhausted, I wonder is it possible to get sunstroke in 20 degrees Grin

FritziGreenEyes · 27/07/2012 14:31

On the train back with Vogue. I'm exhausted and will probably fall asleep soon.

Scorching heat today which I love but also worried about my lovely flowers and plants in the garden. DH has been away since Wednesday.

Have a great holiday ant!

MidnightinMoscow · 27/07/2012 14:44

I am loving the driving!

2 supermarket runs today - took no time whatsoever. I now have the rest of the afternoon to tidy up/iron etc. Sounds boring, but will make such an impact on the weekend, knowing that all the boring stuff is completed!

That necklace is stunning Ants, but can't find any on the Esty site now.

Lovely jacket Rufus, thanks for linking again.

Glad you are having a good day with the DD's GoS.

I know what you mean about hair, Bloss, Marsha et al. I much prefer mine about a week after a cut. I always leave the hairdressers looking too 'coiffed'.

Hope today goes ok alwaysrunning.

Still no response from Matches, really poor CS. Surely the point of email contact is to enable a quick reply? Grrrr!

Cooking Vietnamese tonight - Chicken with chilli and lemon grass. Also hoping to surprised DH with this too, so need to dash!

notyummy · 27/07/2012 14:56

In playdate from hell. I'm going to stop having this particular little girl over. They play for an hour and then start fighting. EVERY TIME. I think they are too similar, as it doesn't seem to happen with other friends that come over. Give.me.strength.

blossoming · 27/07/2012 14:59

Sounds lovely mim. Sounds like you two are getting on well?
I got the Boden catalogue, and like quite a few things especially the houli-likies. I with they did more stuff with a little 'edge' because I'd buy anything from there, the customer service is second to none. The reason I buy less from there is because I had my style day, and find it everything but 'dramatic'! Have a word someone!
hopefully, 'raw edge' is a particular bug bear of mine. At that price? Hem it for F's sake! Look forward to links to your blazer. Cannot imagine it.

blossoming · 27/07/2012 15:04

My playdate is going okay notyummy, sorry to hear about yours. But it's only been an hour, and I've 2 to go.
When I went to DS's parent's evening I read something he'd written on the subject of 'what makes me happy' and he'd written 'have friends over to play' Blush. I am making an effort. The problem is DD wants to hang out with them, and they really don't want her to.
I am hiding. As you can tell.

girlsofsummer · 27/07/2012 15:06

Ny sympathies. I find girl/girl playdates hard work. I worked from home earlier in the week and DD1 had one that went great... until girl wanted to go home ? DD had a meltdown she thought girl wanted to go home because she had done something wrong and she wanted playdate to go on forever. Other girls I find it can be bit tense ? yesterday at pool it was a boy friend ? so easy!

girlsofsummer · 27/07/2012 15:06

I need to arrange more playdates too. Hard when I work FT.

Hopefully · 27/07/2012 15:48

Bloss that's kind I how I feel. I suppose they're not exactly going to fray, but it just feels kind of cheap. I'm avoiding trying them in again because I am so peeved about raw edges.

girlsofsummer · 27/07/2012 16:29

Hmm Hopefully not sure. I have had 2 leather items made for me in the past (shorts and a bogan waistcoat) and don't recall frayed edges on either. Think it would bug me

Hopefully · 27/07/2012 16:38

< flaps about having such a stupidly first world problem>

AmberNectarine · 27/07/2012 16:47

Dare you to post on AIBU Hopefully - 'Aibu to think my £500 leather trousers should be properly hemmed?'

alwaysrunninginheels · 27/07/2012 16:55

Ha ha ha!!! Now that would be funny!

MidnightinMoscow · 27/07/2012 18:43

Now that would be funny!

We are at the moment Bloss. Long may it continue!

rufus101 · 27/07/2012 19:50

Actually SNORTED out loud on the DART (our city train) reading that! Go on Hopefully! Dare you! I can imagine the backlash now. I wonder how many pages it would make and would it make a discussion of the day. (I know. We are easily amused, us fluffy, style obsessed mutant mums)
Actually, was just wondering if they had been deliberately left that way so you could get them to exactly the length you want?
You can always resort to twitter to get a response as well. Worked for MW and the Blochs.
Hope you all enjoy the opening ceremony tonight. I am on my way into town to meet a large group of DHs old college friends. I have made an effort, you (and he) will be pleased to hear.
Although wish I was goIng to MIMs. Bet the Thai place I'm going to won't be half as nice. There sure won't be any of that cake. Let us know how it turns out MIM. Glad the driving is going so well. I'd die without my car.
Bloss, I think your hair looks amazing. Definitely Claudia. I really like that pic. Might bring to the hairdressers. Am slutting to a new one, so am more hopeful of achieving new look.
Lastly Decam, ooh that lady made my blood boil. Wonder if it's a culture thing? Memo to self-think of withering retort.

Emo76 · 27/07/2012 19:56

am having Friday wine and opening ceremony TV. Denise Lewis was just on - apart from being an athletics superstar I think she is just stunningly, naturally beautiful.

hopefully YANBU! ha

Russianred · 27/07/2012 20:02

Rufus could have a point re leg-alterations, but YANBU!!

Emo DH and I were just saying the same thing. Denise is stunning. Interesting bit on now about women and the games.

Have fun tonight Rufus.

MiM I think we need a W&A weekend away and you need to cook us all one of your amazing meals. Yummers. So glad driving is going well - wouldn't not do it now. When I think of all the additional faff not driving used to add to my day...

OP posts:
Hopefully · 27/07/2012 20:09

Rufus I wondered that too, but I wish it made it more clear if that was the case (although it does actually mention in the tiny print of the care section on Matches that they are raw hemmed). I have decided, on balance that they are not perfect, even ignoring the raw hems. I think actually they are so very very matt and soft that they would mark too easily - I need wipe clean trousers, people! Also the green is a fraction too dark. Incredibly picky, but since these are properly once-in-a-decade trousers, I am going to be incredibly picky, frankly. I think I may have to order the Joseph ones, but annoyingly will have to wait a week or two so I am actually around to try them on, as I am away doing training for the next two weeks.

Tomorrow morning will doubtless see me on here in a blind panic, as I will be attempting to pull together five days worth of outfits for training (hotel, so can't easily wash things really, and would prefer to avoid). Should be entertaining, with my sub-30-garment wardrobe. I feel an emergency trip to brighton may be involved at some point.

Hopefully · 27/07/2012 20:09

And now I am off to nip to the shop for ice cream and other treats to sustain us through the maraton opening ceremony. Yay!

MarshaBrady · 27/07/2012 20:11

Ha Amber and Hopefully. They are lovely but you've got to love everything about them.

Emo love those leather trim skinnies. I haven't taken the plunge, do report back! Yes to very chic small bags. (Especially when coupled with non-small toddlers.)

GoS good timing with the days off and marvellous weather. Bravo.

MiM yes yum.

Fritzi ah I'd feel it too. I couldn't bear it either if my beloved garden didn't get water. Hope yours is all ok, fresh and happy.

NY hope you survived the playdate ok.

It's quite good here as ds2 not here today which means ds1 has time with just me for the first time in a couple of years. So easy with one 7 year old.

AmberNectarine · 27/07/2012 20:16

Am on my way out, ladies! Off to drink cocktails with girlfriends in the city. Wearing Zara coated skinnies, black vest top (maternity, will gloss over), all saints beaded waistcoat-y top thing (can be seen on Pinterest), grey jalouse and green gracie. Hair tousled and eyeliner smudged. Almost feel like human being!
