blossoming · 07/08/2012 22:04

Thanks looby!
I'll let you know how I get on with the playsuit emo! No photos, promise!

AmberNectarine · 07/08/2012 22:05

Very diplomatic re. OP there looby, bloss you will look masses better!

blossoming · 07/08/2012 22:12

I think she looks great! When are you showcasing your VL amber?

alwaysrunninginheels · 07/08/2012 22:15

Have just watched the horizon programme and was very interesting. Would love to see more evidence though.

looby thank you. DS is back at paediatric neurologist tomorrow but looks like he has either a post viral reaction or apparently developed antibodies which have attacked the nerves to his eyelid- not something i have ever heard of before. However his eyes are now open. Seem to have spent the majority of school holiday in and out of hospital! Hey no. Appreciate the good days!

AmberNectarine · 07/08/2012 22:25

It may be debuted in the glamourous setting of Camber Sands this Friday bloss. I'd imagine the pap shots will go viral by teatime...

girlsofsummer · 07/08/2012 23:19

Oh Marsha you know I will say go Miele - I LOVE mine (as you know!) and take great care of it. I use soda crystals in most washes to keep in clean (and white vinegar instead of softener). I never over stuff it - I love her TOO much. and it has a proper cold water wash for silks - all my blouses go through it (in little laundry bags). She is truly wonderful. DH totally banned from laundry here too I am so particular.

I have sworn off hotpoint and other cheap appliance brands completely after replacing (I kid you not..!) 3 washing machines in 5 years. There is a reason they guarantee them for the statutory minimum of 1 year. Because that is about how long they will last.

we also, as I have bored some of you with before , bankrupted ourselves last year on a Canon range cooker which cost a fortune but is a thing of great beauty and awsome power. Dont think either of us regret it given how much it gets used - things like washing machines and ovens really do pay their way very quickly. Finally paid it off last month.

Bummer now is that my samsung american fridge freezer (which was relatively cheap) is dying after just 3 short years - if it wan't for DH being handy it would be dead already he has got it working again about 5 times now but time is running out I think. Am eyeing up an LG which is definitely not top of the range but apparently reliable and one of the cheaper ones I can find.

girlsofsummer · 07/08/2012 23:20

Hope your DS is out of woods soon always- how are red and suburban have I missed posts?

IceCreamCastles · 07/08/2012 23:49

Thank you for lovely birthday wishes. I've had a wonderful day- my best university friends have come to visit-we walked to local and had champagne in big garden bit where dd could run free then made nigella's chicken and chorizo tray bake for dinner. Dcs have been charming. Perfect day Smile

Looby-your little boy sounds lovely - and what a treat to have the day to yourselves. I have been swaddling ds which is partly why he gets in such a pickle when he rolls. Tried a sleeping bag last night but no better. Will try tucking him in-maybe swaddle with a sheet then tuck blanket around? Who knows?!

Pickled- I like coop carrot cake. Yes night feeds can be quite special- I loved the early days with ds as it felt like the only time I could give him my full attention.

Your outfit sounds perfect blue, and your friend sounds very brave.

We have such a mix of appliances in our kitchen-aeg oven and Bosch induction hob v good. Beco fridge perfectly serviceable but but makes some odd noises! Whirlpool washing machine-rubbish. Can't remember what tumble drier is but it's fab.

rufus101 · 07/08/2012 23:50

Delighted to hear DS is up and running about again Always. Am constantly amazed how childen bounce back so quickly, and medicine just has to shrug its shoulders and say "well, we don't know what it was, but he's fine now".
Bloss, I love the playsuit. (what a surprise) Of course you will look great in it. Wish I had the guts to wear it on my hols.
Would really like a jumpsuit. Of course, by the time I find one I like, they will have become passe.
I watched the end of that Soham doc tonight. They always seemed to cope so well that couple. I think the way they died woudl torture me forever. I'd never know a moments peace again.
GoS have you tried defrosting the fridge/freezer? That worked for mine.
DH has never once put on a wash in our washing machine. It's something that really, really bugs me, as I do not conform or consent to traditional roles. At all. Really, really annoys me. It's just laziness IMO. It hardly takes a Phd to work it out.
Am very taken with these earrings and can't make up my mind between them and the other ones. I have decided they will be my DM's birthday present to me (she always gives me cash) Grin

Decameron · 08/08/2012 07:21

Emo, glad your Donna Ida purchases were keepers. I had to return my jeans and I now can't find them anywhere except full price. Bah.

I watched that programme too, very interesting. Had you heard of the 5:2 fast before, Looby?

Hope your DS's appointment goes well today, Always.

Bloss, I love those sandals. The playsuit will be cute on the beach. That's annoying, that was a long playdate. I'm desperately trying to avoid a playdate with the extremely badly behaved child I had to look after a while ago.

Lovely earrings, Rufus, though I can't spot the difference. My father gives me cash too, it always fits. :)

DonaAna · 08/08/2012 07:23

Marsha we have Bosch everything in both apartments. Extremely good quality and inexpensive. They was a lot better than any other appliances we've had. Buy a Bosch and get that vacation ;)

Tired and hungover Grin - lovely evening last night...

notyummy · 08/08/2012 07:49

Better news about DS Always- fingers crossed for him.

Can def see you in that playsuits Bloss.

Great to hear from you Looby. You sound like you are doing brilliantly.

Just realised it is now only a few weeks until I go to Budapest with my friends. Must start planning a capsule wardrobe!

Lovely weather here today. I am rather unsummery in grey trouser suit, leopard heels and blouse.

Managed to watch the cycling yesterday. Will admit to a few tears when Sir Chris started bubbling on the podium. He does seem like a nice man.

rufus101 · 08/08/2012 08:06

Grr. Managed to link to same earrings. Have them on pin interest anyway.
I world be doing all kinds of man oeuvres to avoid that play date Decam.
Very Envy of all your travel NY. Don't know how you manage to fit it all in.

blossoming · 08/08/2012 08:59

I'm off shopping today. Had 'forgotten' to take my work shoes for resoling when I went last week Wink. Have promised pizza express to the kids as a bribe. DH working at home so will be able to accept playsuit delivery. I saw someone looking incredible in London wearing a navy blue playsuit with some pattern bird/anchor?? I have searched and searched. Anyway she was also wearing red patent cork peeptoe wedges. I love shorts, and I love bandeau.
So taking inspiration from Pin, I'm wearing pale grey linen shorts and a black tank as it was sunny when I got up. Trying to get a 'city smart' look going. Will have to change though..it has really clouded over. Very often we get the best weather at 6am and 6pm here. And rain inbetween.
Those ear-rings are incredible rufus. I am so boring when it comes to accessories: stud earrings and another stud round my neck and my rings. HoC consultant very frustruated with me on that front. You must be 'dramatic' something or other.
decam, it would have been okay if I'd been warned DS was going to be out so long. We were waiting in for him from 3 and I'd promised DD we'd go to the lake for an ice cream, which we had to cancel. DH saw my face when he got home and sent me out on a 12 mile bike ride, so that helped. I also looked for cheap mobile homes to rent in 3 star campsites in France for next year and told DH I was going to take the kids for the whole 6 weeks, and he could join us for the last 2. Didn't go down too well!
Budapest will be great ny. Love capsule wardrobe planning.
Hope the hangover doesn't last all day dona!
That's good news isn't it always? Really pleased for you. What a holiday you've had.
looby, we love renaults. There are always some issues, but nothing yet with the Scenic (not like the megane where the windows won't open and renault admit it's a 'known fault' yet won't fix it for free). I drive it all the time. Kids love it. There are built in blinds that roll up for the dcs in the back, and a mirror in the front where you can see what the dcs are up to.
Hi to everyone else.. must dash, chaos reigns

girlsofsummer · 08/08/2012 09:19

Lovley earrings Rufus. I am a big jewellery wearer. Red has seen my Blush 3 jewellery stands in my house one dedicated to earrings the other 2 to necklaces... Dramatic you say Bloss? Interesting maybe I am. Does that fit with a belt obsession and a preference for tight black jeans?

Unofrtunately rufus its a design fault which causes motor to freeze over and stop working - this model has now been taken off market as a resutl. Very annoying. DH literally takes it apart removes ice with a hair dryer and puts it back together again every couple of weeks at moment. One day soon it won't work but in the meantime its delaying us spending best part of a grand on a new one so Im ok with it.

MidnightinMoscow · 08/08/2012 09:24

Happy belated birthday wishes to Icey and Pickled.

What a day yesterday. Drove to Winchester, which was fine - had a lovely lunch with my friend and a good catch up. But - the sat nav totally let me down on the way home, I ended up driving on the wrong side of the road and got totally lost. Took me over an hour to get out of Winchester, lots of tears from me. Finally found the way to the road I needed, as I wanted to avoid the M3. All very stressful. But lessons learnt as always from anything stressful. Honestly, felt like I had been at a 3 hour cardiac arrest in terms of nerves.

Rufus, those MW earrings are beautiful. Will check your pin ones later too. I have exactly the same issue with DH and the washing machine. He just never seems to see that the washing basket is getting full, and has no concept that at least one load a day keeps in down and organised. Very annoying.

Those gigi's are fabulous Bloss, I hope they make it in time for your holiday. I love a playsuit too - I saw a lovely one in Oasis this year, navy with a vintage print that I saw on another woman. She looked fabulous. I am hoping to be better toned for one next summer.

Lovely to hear from you Looby, how nice of your friend to help.

Glad to hear that news appears to be good for DS always. Very stressful for you though.

Appliance wise, we have Bosch for a dishwasher and washer/dryer. Both excellent. Slightly annoying, is that our John Lewis FF is on its way out, but I really want to hang on until we do the Kitchen...in 3 years!! I inherited a Lacanche oven with this house - very powerful, but effectively only has two hobs as it has a plancha. My steamer is my friend for multiple vegetable dishes.

It's cold here today - would love to just stay indoors, but a) DS will go stir-crazy and b) we need to escape the dust and noise. Might see if I can drag DS to the shops to look at wallpaper for him. Have my eye on the diggers range from Laura Ashley for him.

MidnightinMoscow · 08/08/2012 09:27

Oh I meant to say - got an email from Matches last night saying they will refund me. They called me on Monday, in relation to my tweet, and I explained how disappointed I was with the delay and general lack of communication.

girlsofsummer · 08/08/2012 09:33

Ollie I also liked the sound of your outfit. Jennifer Aniston style agree good for you.

Bloss I just clicked on one of your pinterest links and got taken through to someone I have never heard of called Marissa Webb - her style made me think of you see here

MarshaBrady · 08/08/2012 09:50

Thanks for washing machine advice, so nice. Just one more quick one promise, would you go for

Miele 6kg - 5 year guarantee £100 more
Bosch 8kg - 2 year guarantee

Size or brand/guarantee?

So torn between the two. Thanks!

MarshaBrady · 08/08/2012 10:11

Ah I have an answer on my riveting washing machine thread.

Some T by Wang to make up for that last post. Love the colour.

Decameron · 08/08/2012 11:00

Good that they are finally refunding you, MiM. Damn satnav! I get very stressed out at roundabouts.

I love Marissa Webb's style.

Ah, I thought you had the other little boy all day, Bloss. We had a little boy over yesterday morning and he just wanted to watch DVDs, DD1 was disgusted.

Nice t-shirt, Marsha. So Bosch and holiday now?

blossoming · 08/08/2012 12:10

I hope they don't think I can reciprocate with DS's friend coming to mine for 7 hours decam! They are a bit like the Clampetts.

MarshaBrady · 08/08/2012 12:34

Just waiting for go ahead from dh. Apparently there is another bigger Miele, but I say it's too much.

MiM that's great news about the refund! John Lewis have redeemed themselves by taking £34 off.

blossoming · 08/08/2012 12:49

I liked the YSL Muse decam till I googled images of it and saw that this is what it looks like out and about.

Decameron · 08/08/2012 13:19

It would be annoying not to be able to carry it on your shoulder.

£34 is a good chunk towards the Wang t-shirt, Marsha.

Looks like it is going to lash here. :( We were just about to go to the library. Trying not to spend for the next few weeks so I can buy the WC cashmere cardigan and this DvF jacket
