Athletic leap on To new thread.

So, will keep trousers. They also look good with the new Whistles top and my Jigsaw Breton (with White Co navy waterfall) 3 tops to one bottom is fine, no? They can replace the indigo 910s (shock horror, Boden replaces J Brand..)

MrsCampbellBlack · 30/07/2012 19:36

Bloss you really need some white jeans - you'd look amazing in them and surely they'd go with stacks of stuff you already have?

I know NY - god - I am loving the olympics although felt so sad for Cav on Saturday.

FritziGreenEyes · 30/07/2012 20:06

Watched fencing with DD and DH. Now swimming!

OllieinOrange · 30/07/2012 20:11

Am loving the swimming too. Clare Balding and Mark Foster are brilliant together. Gary Linekar is awful tho, quite rude at times to Ian Thorpe imo.

blossoming · 30/07/2012 20:13

There's already one white jeans wearer in the village mrscb Wink. I am bowing out of that contest!
Just saw the great little Breton tees in the Great Plains sale. Sold out if course, but annoyed I missed them.
Have you got a new season edit for GP ollie?

MarshaBrady · 30/07/2012 20:19

Gymnastics on time delay. Really enjoyed 400m freestyle relay with the French winning on last leg and Beth on bars. Saw start of cycling at Hyde Park really wish the dc had lasted til the end.

Bloss agree with others on the Boden.

SE your 100% choc must be ahem low carb?

DonaAna · 30/07/2012 20:23

Ollie and Hopefully echoing your sentiments exactly - in my summer home, I have perhaps 15 items hanging in my wardrobe, all of which I love (and I love the empty space even more). The rest is redundant, more or less. When I return to Italy in September, I need to purge, purge, purge.

Just back from another flight. Bye bye MiL - must say I'm pretty relieved. She has always been very nice to me, but she feels she needs to report me each minute detail of her daily life, such as "I started up the dishwasher" or "I found organic rolled oats in the supermarket" or "I put the leftover turnips in the fridge". I'm expected to respond enthusiastically and smile like a maniac.

We have had a few days of sunshine and attended a lovely beach rock concert where things were leisurely enough for the DC to enjoy it - the organizers had hauled old leather sofas at the front and we sat there and the children danced.

Also went to a lovely small contemporary art museum with DC. It is a combination of two private collections - the collectors were not megawealthy plutocrats, just normal people. No-buy July was not a success but I'm trying another approach in Aug. I'm trying to keep track what I spend and have allocated a small sum to clothes and beauty products - will try to save the rest for my private art collection or that retirement villa Grin Let's see how I'll do.

Bloss please do get a pair of white jeans! Hopefully enjoy the training and find out about whether Dramatic Ingenues exist IRL.

MrsAS love your new name Wink

OllieinOrange · 30/07/2012 20:31

Ohhh, didnt know the new stuff was on the GP site! Will browse now Bloss!

DonaAna · 30/07/2012 20:32

Or maybe I just hallucinated... Verity I love the cobalt bag!

Hopefully · 30/07/2012 20:33

Loving the swimming, awesome gold from Lithuanian teen - first ever Lithuanian medal in the pool.

It's so weird having no chores/children to care for etc. keep feeling I ought to be doing something. Could get used to hotel life Wink

AmberNectarine · 30/07/2012 20:35

Oh don't get me started on MILs, mine was really grinding my gears on Sat, lots of snarky comments about how the baby is spoilt (she is 12mo ffs, but MIL great believer in CIO) and she also had a word with DH about DS's pink polo shirt. This is the same woman who told DH I was 'trying to make a fool out of him' when I bought him a pair of red trainers for Christmas one year. The scandal.

MrsCampbellBlack · 30/07/2012 20:37

I could never do a capsule wardrobe - I'd get too bored.

Although am going to wear white jeans every day this week as a little experiment.

Oh meant to say I met the beautiful and ridiculously youthful Russian and Suburban on Saturday - think people thought I'd taken my daughters out Wink

MarshaBrady · 30/07/2012 20:39

I bet Hopefully! Sounds so nice.

Dona it is lovely to have someone who likes contemporary galleries, museums and thinks of having a private collection on here.

AmberNectarine · 30/07/2012 20:42

My private collection consists of a couple of prints from Ikea and DS's finger paintings.

[uncultured swine]

MarshaBrady · 30/07/2012 20:44

How was the exgf Amber?

MarshaBrady · 30/07/2012 20:46

Oh don't worry about the spoilt thing. Could be a generation thing, mine tell me ds2 is far too attached. Probably is but he's only little!

AmberNectarine · 30/07/2012 20:48

Very quiet Marsha. I just don't understand the girl. Why would you still be hanging around after 14 years and two marriages? I'd feel sorry for her if she weren't so predatory. DH is a bit bemused by it all.

Evening all, I am ill, ill, ill. Glands, achy limbs, sore throat, headache. The whole pissing works. Have been in bed for 2 days now - DH is being a complete legend.

Oi Marsha, I'll have you know that I already have the beginnings of my private art collection (admittedly much of it inherited/my Mother's work/the work of my Mum's Camberwell cohort), thank you very much. And (get this), there is a Picasso in the family which I will never own. A very rich tradition of art and appreciation of art in my family but you'd never know from my common ways Wink. I think that's a stealth boast, although there's nothing stealth about it Grin.

Hope you're enjoying the training Hopefully.

Boden trousers sound to be most promising Ants and Bloss.

Back to my sick bed.

Seventh - I have had to stop buying Montezumas Spice it Up - the children adore it too.

I haven't eaten bread in ages and don't miss it but did accidentally have lemon tart yesterday - oops.

MarshaBrady · 30/07/2012 21:00

Red Grin Good to hear it. Picasso no way. Who does it go to next?

I know someone who funded a house purchase from a lucky family buy which their parents hung in the bathroom.

SE good tip will check it out. I have ditched sugar completely now.

MarshaBrady · 30/07/2012 21:00

Italics? Bold

Russianred · 30/07/2012 21:03

Will probably be split amongst the children (so generation above me) as they will all squabble over who wants it. My Mum was a bit naughty in her youth and played the artist's muse to some older men. There is also a rather explicit painting of her by a prominent Dutch female artist, which we were once confronted with as children. She seems so MOR now.

Evening All!

The Boden trews sound great Bloss, well wear.

No capsule wardobe here! I do remember when I was pregnant having a great capsule wadrobe from Formes, getting dressed was so easy!

I spent yesterday with the outlaws, you have sympathies indeed Amber! DH bought himself a pair of red North Face trainers last year and DDs1&2 hate when he wears them!

I have ordered the Topshop version of the Acne Stars, I will report when they arrive.

I have also bought 2 pairs of black trousers in Zara for work, I can't decide whether to keep them or not, they'll do but I certainly don't love them and I need trousers to go with my 3! Black leather jackets! How did that happen?!
I went out with some friends for dinner and to a couple of clubs on Thursday night, it took me all weekend to recover! Anyway one of the girls has a beautiful black leather De Manta with lots of stitching detail, it really is stunning and would be worth saving for in my opinion.

I'm glad that everyone is enjoying the games Smile

MarshaBrady · 30/07/2012 21:12

Good one beautiful mme Red!

Amber yes I rather think you and your dh are a done deal. Best now for her to find some one else.

Dc finally asleep, sheesh.
