I quite a fancy a pair of these.

I'm 28, long time DM wearer, but usually stick to the normal lace-up boots, haven't ventured to their other styles.

I have SHOCKING yet comfortable taste in clothes and footwear (I live in jeans and tunics, Converse and DMs) so whilst I think these boots are great, the rest of the world could be laughing at me.

I love them. I would look at you with boot envy.

Chandon · 21/07/2012 14:34

in which way aggressive?

Nobody could find those kind of shoes pretty, but like I say, lots of people do not want to look pretty. I did not want to look pretty as a student, I used to wear big biker boots and men's jeans, so I get the not-wanting-to-look-pretty style! I have quite a few friends who'd baulk at "pretty".

It IS a "no-I-don't-want-to-look-pretty" style shoe IMO.

We were asked for our opinion. I gave mine.

Frontline · 21/07/2012 14:35

Lets look at this - at least if they arent pracitcal for everyday use, you could get a part as DIck whittington

Dawndonna · 21/07/2012 14:38

Bugrit!
I've ordered a pair of black ones!

butterflybuns · 21/07/2012 21:09

I have them in black and wore them all winter. I adore them, they are immensely comfortable and I think are lovely. Want them in purple now.....

SundaeGirl · 21/07/2012 21:18

and for when your ship comes in. Awesome.

CatPower · 21/07/2012 22:43

Oh christ on a cracker, even I draw the line at shiny gold nonsense.

Chandon, as much as I'd love to wear everything pretty and dainty and wonderful, I just can't. I'm 5'11", built like a rugby league prop forward, and I have hip dysplasia, which means I have to go for comfort over style unless I fancy toppling over and dislocating my hips. Yep, both of 'em. It's really not a case of not wanting to look pretty, it's more about being sensible. Anyway, I can think of fewer things as daft as choosing a "pretty" pair of shoes that leave you crippled by the end of a night out.

Now, anyone fancy a Biscuit?

You can have comfort and style OP

Awesome · 21/07/2012 23:44

HELL YEAH!!!!
I have them in red (Shuh £85) and black (Amazon £45) They are without a doubt the most comfortable and versatile boots on the planet!
They also do/did them in a gorgeous Peacock blue but they're hard to track down, Amazon had them last winter but I couldn't justify a third colour Grin
Seriously, trust me, they're fab,
BUY THEM !!

Awesome · 21/07/2012 23:49

see what I mean

CatPower · 21/07/2012 23:52

I might be a bit in love with the peacock ones.

Scarredbutnotbroken · 21/07/2012 23:56

I really like them and will have a look in scuh for them next time. I'm pretty style conscious and I think they look cool. I would wear them with leggings and a white stuff smock dress I have that's purple Grin

Whiteworm · 22/07/2012 00:17

Hmmm I love a boot. Although I am a Russell & Bromley or Dune kind of girl. These are ok, so long as we are talking autumn/winter right? Not now??

PerryCombover · 22/07/2012 00:18

Yes

NoComet · 22/07/2012 00:37

If my DMIL was still alive, they are the sort of boots she should have worn.

She actually had a bright greeny blue pair of lace ups or walking boots worn with slightly hippy cotton skirts and socks 365 days a year.

If your slightly arty and slightly mad they are great.

I'd wear them, but I'd put on boring slinky jeans and a hoody and that's not the point of purple boots.

NoComet · 22/07/2012 00:38

I retyped skinny twice and auto correct has still changed itAngry

Chandon · 22/07/2012 09:00

Catpower, but I agree with that!

I am 6 ft wth a bad back myself and currently walking aroung in my Joseph Seibel clogs (!!!!).

And They are defo not pretty :)

I thought you wanted to know if the Dms looked nice. To me they look about as un pretty as my clogs.

DaydreamDolly · 22/07/2012 09:09

Hell no

But then I am a WAG type so you lot probably hate me Grin

SugarBatty · 22/07/2012 09:13

I'm not a fan so I say stick to the originals as I don't like spin off's from classics.

JodieHarsh · 22/07/2012 09:18

I have to admit I shuddered hard enough to dislocate my shoulder - but since I am wearing a floor-length Aztec printed gauze dress from the 70s and a pendant with a the empty shell of a .22 Luger bullet on the end I really wouldn't attend to my style advice Grin

I love it when people wear stuff that's a bit off-beam but totally suits their style. I think you should have a pair in every colour.

Lottapianos · 23/07/2012 11:11

Yikes -I have been on the DM website and drooled all over my keyboard. I want so many of them! My wallet should be very afraid Smile
