I quite a fancy a pair of these.

I'm 28, long time DM wearer, but usually stick to the normal lace-up boots, haven't ventured to their other styles.

I have SHOCKING yet comfortable taste in clothes and footwear (I live in jeans and tunics, Converse and DMs) so whilst I think these boots are great, the rest of the world could be laughing at me.

STOP!

you need to buy them direct from dr martens. Only £63 and free next day delivery.

As you were.

EnglishGirlApproximately · 21/07/2012 11:31

Ooh thanks pretty

OP - I think you may have started something here, we'll have to play spot the MNetter with shiney new DM's next week!

Grumpla · 21/07/2012 11:35

I have a pair of these. They are THE most comfortable boots ever, I have worn them daily for about nine months including whilst heavily pregnant with major back / hip problems.

They look absolutely fine under trousers / with skinny jeans tucked in but I have only worn them once with a dress and having caught sight of my reflection won't be doing so again.

However I am going to buy myself a black pair for work.

Advantage over normal Dms - very soft leather, no need to break them in. No bright yellow stitching.

Disadvantages - not quite as hard wearing. Not 100% waterproof - fine in rain, not for wading through puddles.

Krumbum · 21/07/2012 11:36

They are cool even with the ugly sole and look v comfy! Go for it.

Nagoo · 21/07/2012 11:37

red are only £55.....

showtunesgirl · 21/07/2012 11:38

Nooooooo! PrettyPrinceofParties why did you have to link them at a cheaper price??? AND they have them in black!

Hurries off to check bank balance.

PrettyPrinceofParties · 21/07/2012 12:04

Hehe, I may call myself Prince of Parties but really I am the Queen of Bargainhunters!

CatPower · 21/07/2012 12:17

I love you, MN jury. Annoyingly, the ones at £63 don't come in my size. I get paid next week, so will check Amazon again and try to get to a Schuh to try them on.

They are FAB, definite YES from me

GetOrfMoiiLand · 21/07/2012 12:24

They are absolutely NOT my style, and I wouldn't wear them because they would go with none of my clothes, but I can on the right person with the right clothes they would look great - so I would go for it I were you.

I would have worshipped them when I was 16 and lived in my DMs. Grin

They look marvellously comfortable.

happybubblebrain · 21/07/2012 12:28

Yes, I love the colour. If they had a bigger heel I'd want a pair too.
A pair of purple boots is hardly a laughing matter.

GetOrfMoiiLand · 21/07/2012 12:28

Bloody hell look at the boots on the DM website!

They do them in all sorts of varieties. I would have been in raptures to have that choice when I wore dms.

GetOrfMoiiLand · 21/07/2012 12:31

lol though at the Swarowski crystal DMs.

200 quid for these monsters

SpringGoddess · 21/07/2012 12:32

They're great - dare I say it fab for the school run and standing in the freezing cold playground - I might just have to purchase a pair, the dilemma is which colour?

TigerFeet · 21/07/2012 12:34

Aren't DM's coming back into vogue now? I have a wonderful flowery pair from c1992 that I've never had the heart to get rid of. A lot like these but Shock @ £110 Shock

OBface · 21/07/2012 12:35

IMO absolutely awful. But if they suit your style then why not. Though please in another colour... I had a pair of purple DMs circa 1993 when I was both a 13 year old girl and they were cool. No-one could pull them off now.

And I have KG boots that are neither WAGesque or a mum boot thank you very much.

Dawndonna · 21/07/2012 12:50

I'm 53. I still wear my purple docs, and the green ones, and the black ones. Don't really care what they look like, they're comfortable, they don't slip in the rain and when we get snowed in, it means I can walk safely to the shop for the neighbours.

CatPower · 21/07/2012 13:08

Grin @ GetOrf's Swarovski DM monsters. They're horrific!

OP posts:
GetOrfMoiiLand · 21/07/2012 13:11

I don't know who the HELL would buy those swarowski monsters.

Surely DMs are about the DM style and anti-fashionness. If you like DMs you aint going to like bejewelled high heels.

And if you like high heeled boots, there are loads of places you would look. You wouldn't get DM high heels when you could go to Office, Kurt Geiger, Russell and Bromley - loads of other shops if you want to spend £200 on high heeled boots.

cybbo · 21/07/2012 13:17

The boots in the OP look like The New Schmoo

cybbo · 21/07/2012 13:19

Who I thought was purple, but now having googled I see s in fact, white

I'll let myself out

noddyholder · 21/07/2012 13:20

No! They are lord of the ringsy

GetOrfMoiiLand · 21/07/2012 13:24

Haha at lord of the ringsy.

Have a look at the swarowski ones (line about 10 posts up)

Viviennemary · 21/07/2012 13:30

I was ready to type hell absolutely no. But now I've seen them yes. I like them.

Olympicnmix · 21/07/2012 13:39

My inner child is yearning for the red or brown pair.
