How many bikinis do you take on holiday?

Just wondering really after my mum commented that "surely 3 is too many for a week's holiday". I thought I was being quite contained!

14 for a 2 week holiday.

BunnyLebowski · 19/07/2012 20:40

Shock 14???????!!!!!

2 for me. Wear one, dry one Grin

heroutdoors · 19/07/2012 20:41

I would say six at least. Would mum think it was normal to wear 3 dresses in the course of a week?
Maybe she does not realise that you will live in them the whole day, and might want to change them when wet, full of sand, or whatever.

MrsCampbellBlack · 19/07/2012 20:43

2-3 but normally have one favourite that I wear all the time [wash and rinse each night]. But I find bikinies really hard to find good ones that fit well and would rather spend £££ on one really good one to be honest.

14!!!

LynetteScavo · 19/07/2012 20:47

None.

Not necessary in Cornwall. Sad

OhEmGee24 · 19/07/2012 20:50

I've always gone for about 3 for one week and 5/6 for a fortnight. But in general I find it hard to find ones that fit properly as I'm um, small Blush

I used to have a swimming pool for many years and rotated a total of 4 bikinis. In any case, you like one or two pairs better than the others, so the rest tend to be redundant.
dexter73 · 19/07/2012 20:51

I took 2 last year for a week long holiday and alternated them. It was easy to wash and them dry in the lovely 35C heat!

Welliwooster · 19/07/2012 20:57

2 for me too (although I am well past the days of bikinis, so I take swimming costumes, and we go away in England)

One to wear, one to dry

Mind you - If I was going abroad, as you tend to stay in them all day, I would probally take up to 4 if I were going away for 2 weeks.

Vagaceratops · 19/07/2012 21:03

None - you wouldn't catch me dead in a bikini.

I take 4 swimsuits though.

hermioneweasley · 19/07/2012 21:06

I would take 2 or 3 max

Rompu · 19/07/2012 21:06

If it's somewhere hot, then about 5 for two weeks. If I'll only be using them for swimming, then two.

HappyGirlNow · 19/07/2012 21:09

Also 14 for a fortnight's holiday Blush

I just took one swimsuit for a two week holiday Blush I took travel wash and washed it every night and it was dry by the morning.

bronze · 19/07/2012 21:11

None
I don't own a bikini
I take one tankini thing but it looks like a one piece which is what I would have if I could find one I fit.

mosschops30 · 19/07/2012 21:11

14 for a two week holiday??? Are you Coleen Rooney?

I usually take two, one for first week and one for second. But this year i got them cheap so im pushing the boat out and taking three

bigTillyMint · 19/07/2012 21:13

None - I don't own any bikini's though I have a couple of tankini's and a couple of cozzies. Probably 4 for a 2 week hol.

singaporeswing · 19/07/2012 21:14

Just come back from a week away and I took 5. Wore them all too.

NoComet · 19/07/2012 21:21

3, but tankis and costumes rather than bikinis.

prettybird · 19/07/2012 21:27

Am currently on holiday in Greece: two bikinis, alternate days. Did bring a costume but haven't worn it and don't expect to do so brought it in case i got burnt but have been good Did think about bringing a 3rd bikini but it was too small decided against it as we were trying to travel light. Wink

prettybird · 19/07/2012 21:28

....one week holiday Smile

ujjayi · 19/07/2012 21:29

I take 5 or 6 for 2 weeks. I wouldnt say 3 is excessive for a week. I take the approach that I don't want to wear the same thing day after day, washed or not. Plus I find that sun lotion inevitably discolours bikinis in such a way that hand washing doesn't get them properly clean.

Napdamnyou · 19/07/2012 21:32

Four is about right for beach holiday I reckon, one on, one off and ready to wear in beach bag, (so you can wear a dry one but keep beach cover up when you nip for lunch) one drying in hotel shower and one spare with a different cut so you don't get strap marks and can alternate. I used to take a halter neck, bandeau, fifties bra style and stringy one, thus avoiding strap marks as much as possible. Plus a swimsuit for early morning pool lengths and snorkelling.

Have a nice holiday.

clayfeet · 19/07/2012 21:32

3 because I have big norks and that's all I can afford
