That green Issa dress is beautiful. I like the geometric dress you pinned, NY. What's on the menu?

I haven't heard the name R much either, Darkness. DD1 calls her Baby Zanna (although she is 13 months), which is sweet. Does your DS like Tabby McTat? I have to read it every night.

Glad your DD likes her gifts, Amber

Bloss, sounds like a lovely day.

Have a good evening, Red. Could you wear the Whistles lace dress or the Me & Em? I still haven't worn my Me & Em, we are going out to dinner on Sat night so I might wear it then.

Ugh to voles!

MrsCampbellBlack · 11/07/2012 20:26

I can't describe the hideousness of the voles.

Normally they deposit them at the front door so I remove straight-away but these were in the grass and alive with maggots - so had to do vole cull before mowing could commence.

Dec - my dc's get obsessed with books was Apple Tree Farm for a while and middle child could recite whole stories in the car we're read them so many times.

I like Tabby McTat though - nice to read - the Usbourne leaner books on ponies and trains are current favourites though.

loobylu3 · 11/07/2012 20:28

Quick hello!

Those Issa dresses on shopatannas are gorgeous! The Saloni ones are rather lovely too.

I think I am ISFP on the Myers Briggs. Is that the same as you, amber?
I think my DH may be ESTP (the same as yours too). He is certainly v strongly a P- is the most impossibly last minute person I have ever met!

red- well done to your DH in having the courage to approach the GP again. I hope he can get the help that he needs.
amber- I think eating disorders (or at least faddiness) amongst young women is so common. I would say that the majority of my Uni friends had food related issues. I tried to join them in being faddy for a year of so and lost so much weight that my periods stopped. I now have to eat a lot to feel healthy and maintain my weight.
I think the media give us a v distorted idea of what is healthy/ normal and the idea that the thinner the better is total rubbish.

Jigsaw sale started today. I have ordered that gorgeous star cardigan of mrsCB's to try and a couple of potential wedding dresses for DD1 who doesn't do dresses or tights Shock.
Other than that, I am kind of living day to day still at present and enjoying my new little man. Am also v lucky as DD2 (3) is being so grown up and affectionate with him.

MidnightinMoscow · 11/07/2012 20:50

Well, what do you know? We had bright sunshine for a while. Managed to get the DC's to the park, but got caught in a dreadful storm and hailing. All very stressful and unstylish, and best forgotten about.

Yes, that green dress would look fabulous on you NY. What about your Oasis dress from last year, knee length, camel and black, sort of 50's style? I remember you posted a picture and you looked fabulous.

Good to hear you are enjoying things Looby. I am a very strong P too - I flourish in last minute situations, I'm not a planner!

You're a stronger women than me MrsCB, believe me...voles and maggots sound awful, and I say that as someone who has had an encounter with maggots and a foot once. (Not my foot obviously).

Your day sounds lovely Bloss. Sounds like the maxi will be good for holidays.

Still no name for the car yet - I just keep staring at it out of the window! Thanks for the heads up on the beepers Ollie.

DonaAna · 11/07/2012 20:54

Slow afterglow after the 5K - thanks for all lovely links.
Too tired to write anything. Good sales and trying-on and choosing karma to everyone... Will try to read a bit, then crash.

girlsofsummer · 11/07/2012 20:55

How weird I am ENFJ (but only marginal J - 1% whatever that means)
DH is ENFP (6% P)

Same same but just a bit different. Actually SPOOKILY accurate in many respects

girlsofsummer · 11/07/2012 20:58

I think I got J because I have learned to be organised and always to meet deadlines even though I am quite last minute I still meet them no matter what my livelihood depends on it. If I cant meet them then I have to agree it ahead of time. But naturally I am more of a P hence the only 1% J.

bretonbee · 11/07/2012 21:14

I've done Myers-Briggs at work too but years ago and possibly not very truthfully. Just did it again and I am ISFJ although quite borderline between the I and the E. The website descriptions you linked to are good though seventh - disturbingly accurate at times such as a bit about ISFJs not being good at leaving bad relationships and blaming themselves for it all. Luckily a bit of therapy has helped with that.

Spent all day looking out the window at alternate sunshine, blue sky and then rain / hail. Obviously when I had to push buggy home from nanny share with about 3 bags hanging off it was pouring with rain. What is going on with the weather???

Yuk mrs cb I really have a phobia about rodents...do not envy you that task and eewww mim at first I thought you meant you stepped on a maggot and then I realised what you meant. So much worse.

bloss love that vince maxi

MarshaBrady · 11/07/2012 21:20

ENFJ is Teacher Girls that really suits you, you are kind and patient.

I am ENTJ. I kind of read the blurb through my hands not knowing what it would say. There were a few that were very close in the list however.

MarshaBrady · 11/07/2012 21:27

I like the translate theories and possibilities into solid plans of action... and the rest. That sounds about right. Quite good actually.

CHOOGIRL · 11/07/2012 21:32

Boo lost post.

I always come out ENTJ - quite common in my industry. Thing to remember that MBTI indicates a preference it's not a label in itself. Have had colleagues join the team as FP and leave as TP/J.

Feeling slightly queasy at the thought of voles

Nipped into Selfros to shelter from the rain and spent ages admiring the display in the new Delvaux concession. Remind me of the bags my gran used to have.

girlsofsummer · 11/07/2012 21:45

Amber I have been thinking all day about your Q re why I am not bothered with diets etc and others are. TBH I suspect we are all just shaped by our experiences and things that happen to us a long the way, the relationships we have, some aspects of natural personality (some of us have more ?obsessive? tendencies and self control than others). So its a combo of factors but something I do think is probably capable of flux in all of us. I don?t think any one of us should feel either bad or smug about how we are its much too complicated how we got here although it is an interesting question.

I have been thinking about my "story" because its interesting esp. as a parent of girls myself to see how things play out but its not for the thread too self absorbed I think I couldnt stand subjecting others to it.

NotSoGrumpy · 11/07/2012 23:09

INTJ here and some of the description was spookily accurate. luckily it said I'm well suited to my current occupation.

Marsha I was at the airshow today. Enjoyed the free champagne at lunchtime best but the show was v impressive. Notyummy thanks for the helpful sartorial advice, I shopped my wardrobe and wore a navy silk blouse, charcoal trousers and heels and navy trench with my fabulous new red lipstick. I've never managed to find a red lipstick that suits me before but this one is fab. Apparently I needed one that wasn't blue-based.

Red I hope you had a nice time out this eve.

Amber and Ants I also have a not great relationship with food and poor body image. It dates back to my teenage years (so over half my life). I'm going to have to do something about it because DD1 is picking up on it. She said to MIL that 'Mummy says she's fat but I think she looks lovely'. I really want my DDs to grow up with healthy relationships with food and proud of how they look.

MrsCB yuck to the voles story!

MiM glad the driving is going well.

I have just bought these in the Jigsaw sale. Given the current weather I must be mad!

ReineDeSaba · 11/07/2012 23:20

mrscb you have nerves of steel,my tummy is turning over at your maggoty vole story.

actually realised after excitement at purchasing a 40bum buy before she did that I don't have leopards from primark after all but dark red snakeskin.

How do I find this quiz then?

Hopefully · 12/07/2012 06:14

SE be aware that if you dye shirt the stitching will stay white - I tend to avoid dyeing clothes radically different. I might dye a bright orange shirt rust, for instance, but a white one I would only dye nude or oyster.

Off to view a house today. Have phoned about four times to ensure it hasn't actually gone this time. Fingers crossed it is ok! Ex-student property so needs a luck of paint, but rent proportionally cheap because of it.

ReineDeSaba · 12/07/2012 07:58

mrscb meant to say primark have 'ankle grazer' leopard print which I picked up last night on way back from business forum, obviously go to the floor on me.might be better length for you but it's in a darker print which might not look as good on your blonde colouring.

ollie I also ended up picking up a gold pleather jacket from there so I officially win the 40 something magpie award.I love it but may end up feeling a bit silly on our fairly staid school run!

glad the weather looking better today.enjoy having more time to put outfits together/make-up etc over holidays...was around earl's court last night and realised I'd forgotten how many beautiful London girls are..DH must see this every day then come home to me in pajamas..need to try harder!

very excited about new Batman film. yummy we are watching this at the moment..hilarious hair/makeup/power suits but gripping non-the-less..do miss 'The Good Wife' though dec and red

Will make sure post tutorial on blog today or tomorrow..finally!

darknessvisible · 12/07/2012 08:23

Morning everyone, it's delightfully sunny here, for once!

I'm an ESFJ - the characteristics are spookily accurate. I've never had to do one before in my line of work but I bet DH has so I'm going to ask him later.

Thanks for the IO size-down tip, Amber, I?ll be packaging it all up and re-ordering. Honestly, I think some of the tops are enormous, possibly two sizes too big (!). Did anyone have the IO jeans? I?m looking for a pair of great maternity skinnies that don?t have to be constantly hoiked up ? any recommendations?

Reine Thanks! I did realise what you meant Grin

Speaking of the magpie instinct, I bought some lovely sparkly-heeled boots from New Look which should be arriving today. I haven?t seen them in real life, but I have high hopes. Sparkly!

*Dona I love the red dress you pinned last night ? I will be dreaming of fitting into that (or something similar) next summer (wishful thinking).

OllieinOrange · 12/07/2012 08:24

Morning. So, DH now very ill with whatever virus thing I had last week. Looks and feels terrible. Am administering TLC and nurofen whilst silently hoping we can still set off on holiday tomorrow (long drive)

I have one of those days running around finishing packing, tidying up, trip to the supermarket for sweets for the car holiday supplies, making banana bread whilst stopping DS from packing the entire contents of their bedrooms. So obviously I am procrastinating with the DM, MN and Pinterest.

Decam I meant to say that I was called Zanny as a child, sparked by my big brother's inability to pronounce my name; my family still call me that sometimes Blush

DS loves Tabby McTat but really he is a Thomas nut. Despite all the lovely plans for his new room, I know he wants a hideous Thomas bed. I now hate Thomas and all his friends Wink

OllieinOrange · 12/07/2012 08:47

My two were Thomas fans too darkness - I hated that bloody theme tune and we had to play the CD of songs and stories all the time in the car ""their 2, their 4 their 6 and 8.....grrrrrr And as for the stories......! Will you be resisting a Thomas bed? Would he be happy with a (shudder) Thomas duvet cover?

Thankfully DSs have moved on and I now love the range of stories they choose at bedtime. Less so the amount of lego and playmobil on the floor!

darknessvisible · 12/07/2012 08:55

Issimma thanks for the Gap jeans tip - I'll get on there today. I've decided to get some really nice maternity clothes this time and sell them on eBay afterwards. Last time I didn't feel stylish at all...

Ollie I'm going to resist the Thomas bed, I think. It's actually slightly creepy Bed. I would like to avoid a duvet cover too, if possible. The stories are quite sinister, I think. Individuality is always punished and Sodor is run like a totalitarian state Wink.

Good luck for your holidays - I hope your DH isn't as demanding a patient as mine!

Decameron · 12/07/2012 09:53

DD1 went through a (thankfully) brief Thomas phase, I gave away the DVDs we had to a neighbour for her little boy.

I can't wait for the next series of the Good Wife, Reine. I'm sure you look gorgeous in your PJs.

Darkness, I had IO jeans, they slipped down constantly and I ebayed them. Paige were good, also J Brand maternity and I liked Seraphine skinny jeans (they are not that skinny) most of all. I bought a lot from Seraphine actually, they are not as expensive as IO. IO sizing is huge. My little brother called me Zanne (second half of my name) for years, I must tell DD1.

Hope your DH gets well soon, Ollie. I reluctantly removed the Burberry coat from my AW must haves, that's almost Acne pistols AND 50/50s!

I have a nursery mums' night out tonight but have been awake since 4.30 this morning and up at 5 yesterday, not because of DD2, I can't sleep. I hate to miss out on a night out but just can't do it.

Hopefully, hope the house is good.
