Like yer style.

I love this. But a bit long...

I want something really good which means I won't find anything. Probably.

MarshaBrady · 20/07/2012 19:02

Or delicate like this

No I don't want either, I will have a mooch around. If there is too much Vivienne Westwood and not much else I shall be be annoyed.

blossoming · 20/07/2012 19:04

Phew, thank heavens for that!

AmberNectarine · 20/07/2012 19:05

Last time I went there was loads of VW, don't know why.

So you want a snazzy, going out dress, then? [life envy]

MarshaBrady · 20/07/2012 19:10

yes a really good one. Grin

I know it's like Matches and DvF. Nothing against DvF but it's better when there's more labels.

We should do a thing out one night and dress up (I have said this too many times).

AmberNectarine · 20/07/2012 19:40

Agree with that. I love dressing up, though never get the opportunity these days (thanks, kids)

MarshaBrady · 20/07/2012 19:46

I know. Adore it too. We are getting better. Always go to our favourite place. It's great and loads of good outfits.

It's also the only time I wear the heels I have. So it has to be done.

Hope you can install a babysitter soon.

hello - bit behind on the thread - but the talk of Judy Blume brings back happy memories, my dad used to take us to the library almost every Saturday and I devoured her works - DD1 read "superfudge" recently and I loved it again! Also aged 11/12 I was a huge fan of the Chalet School books - oh how I wanted to go to their lovely Swiss school, they always seemed to be having cakes and going skiing!

anyway - mim it sounds like your driving skills are being honed, keep up the good work!

always sending your DS lots of get well vibes

reine what can I say? thank you for my gorgeous package! You ARE the most talented cookie artiste.

I like those navy Jalouse but seem to get so much more wear out of flat boots and shoes - I still have my CdC black wedge boots from last winter, barely worn!

Big sympathy to those whose DH's are working away or not around much at the moment, it's tough going. Yes yes yes to the odd treat to yourselves!

AmberNectarine · 20/07/2012 19:57

Aw, SE is anything better for my sanity than more clothes? Wink Babysitter a no go because the baby goes ballistic if even spoken to by someone who is not a member of her immediate family, doesn't sleep for more than 2 hours at a time and is totally reliant on my mammaries. Am very gradually settling her at nursery over the next 2 months before I RTW though, so you never know, I might get the odd hour here and there :)

MarshaBrady · 20/07/2012 20:05

Ds2 was the same. I bought a lot of clothes.

FritziGreenEyes · 20/07/2012 20:08

I like the navy Jalouse!

marsha Are you looking for a dress for your birthday? Or just an everyday one?

MarshaBrady · 20/07/2012 20:16

Birthday Smile. I can almost picture it. But need to find it.

Decameron · 20/07/2012 20:54

NY, I completely agree. Your DH sounds like a good boss. DH phoned to say he has booked the week after next off and will not cancel!

Hope you get some time to go shopping, Hopefully. I thought the name of the trousers was a good sign! The teachers' gifts you made are gorgeous.

Amber, I am regretting turning down the offer as I now really want Acne pistols (in black in case red boots are mumsy Wink). Sold my Acne terracotta boots and decided to give my Ash Jalouses the boot (ha ha) so the fund is increasing.

I do have a few pairs of wide leg jeans/bootcuts, Seven Dojos and Amber and COH Hutton. NaP/Trilogy/Shopbop still sell them so they can't be that bad! I don't wear them much but have a lovely pair of pink wedge shoes so maybe will give them a go.

I'm off to have a glass of wine. Thank you for letting me vent earlier. Thanks

MarshaBrady · 20/07/2012 21:01

Looking at those pins. They do look rather good don't they.

They are pretty much back in fashion now anyway. NaP have them.

Decameron · 20/07/2012 21:01

I loved the Chalet School books too, Emo.

MrsCB, hope your DD gets well soon and that Bottega Veneta bag is beeeeyoootiful.

bretonbee · 20/07/2012 21:02

Popping into say have hopped, skipped and jumped on the bandwagon and purchased the Whistles animal print skinnies. Love them and they will go with lots - going to rock them tomorrow at family lunch (not my family, the entirety of XPs family seem to have descended on London this weekend and intend to dress up to make a point..not sure exactly which one but any excuse Smile)

In other news - due to having time on my hands today, no work and DS being otherwise engaged with his GPs I treated myself to a facial. Thought I had quite nice skin but the facialist was pretty insulting (although might have been a hard sell), anyway ended up having a glycolic peel and the results are amazing Grin

always glad that today went ok for your DS and hope all goes well in the coming days.

marsha excited to see what dress you choose, I love your style inspiration boards.

ollie your holiday sounds idyllic, have always wanted to go to the Ile-de-Re.

hopefully gorgeous gifts, you are very clever.

Like the navy Jalouse - will be quite tempted I think.

MrsCampbellBlack · 20/07/2012 21:02

Georgina - so sad about your friend's husband - I've got it on fb so was aware it was unresolved.

Scanned the frumpy thread and totally agreed with Bloss. I still wear my baby bootcuts and I don't think I'm frumpy.

Dec - hope DH gets his holiday. I'm off to my sisters with the children tomorrow and DH has just said he may come too - I nearly fell of my chair. He regularly works 4-5 hours a day every day when we're on holiday but like Blues' DH has his own business so not so easy to switch off I guess. He's got a fashion client at the moment which is hilarious as is surrounded by models all week and lordy would you believe they're all really tall and skinny and beautiful Hmm

Decameron · 20/07/2012 21:16

MrsCB, you are as far from frumpy as can be! My dad was the same (though it was in the olden days so no blackberries) and I am normally quite understanding about it, but woke up in a bad mood, I guess!

Breton, it's great you can get on. My pils can barely speak without snarling almost 30 years on! The facial sounds good (I dread to think what she'd say to me though), where did you have it done?

GeorginaWorsley · 20/07/2012 21:23

Thanks again for kind words re John Lawton.
Re Whistles animal print skinnies, they are super flattering! Was asked numerous times if I had lost weightGrin
Agree that some skinny flares/baby bootcuts are flattering.I think they need to be slimmer in thigh noe than they were.
Having said that,I have a pair of wide leg soft denim trousers/jeans that are great with high wedges.

MarshaBrady · 20/07/2012 21:25

Thanks Breton! Facial sounds great.

Hopefully love your gifts.

I need ankle boots too, but don't think I'll do Acne pistols again. I need something new, but similar.

AmberNectarine · 20/07/2012 21:27

Have you seen the Acne star boots marsha? They are gorgeous!

MarshaBrady · 20/07/2012 21:33

Nice! Googled. thanks Amber Selling out fast on My-Wardrobe.

Look here on sale but in orange! Patent no less. I couldn't my feet are too big they would be too loud on me.

But I also adore the white shorts and soft grey cashmere sweater with it.

blossoming · 20/07/2012 21:42

Honestly, what a day! DH has gone to bed, leaving me here drinking wine on my own. (Feels flu-y). Panicked earlier that my parents were leaving and DH was working and DS was crying with a pain to his side, so frogmarched him to the doctors, thinking he had appendicitis (he doesn't). And we had 3 tantrums today from dd. But they didn't last an hour long like yesterdays. Progress?

blossoming · 20/07/2012 21:43

You know where I'd like to go? Back to Miami Beach where I was 10 years ago to now. Violet Lake are doing a fashion shoot in the W, saw it on FB. That would be the life!
