So sorry to hear about DS. I do hope everything is ok, thinking of you.

suburban · 19/07/2012 19:51

Oh always how scary I hope it doesn't turn out to be anything too serious and that Riders will give you some much needed escapism tonight.

florenceuk · 19/07/2012 20:00

Always - hope all will be ok.

Decameron - my pinterest name is the same as on here.

My toast order seems to be stuck in a loop!

girlsofsummer · 19/07/2012 20:47

Stopping work to say Always have everything crossed for you how awful and worrying for you all xx

Hopefully · 19/07/2012 20:50

always completely missed your post in my self centred christening post. So sorry, and hope all goes ok.

Hopefully · 19/07/2012 20:52

SE I thought skirt and shirt a bit office-casual for something like a christening, even with heels? hmm. Me&Em is a bit slinky, I suppose. It will be fairly casual lunch after christening I imagine.

AntPants1 · 19/07/2012 20:57

always fingers crossed and thinking of you.

Big wave to reine yes Dsis looks amazing. Only a week to go. DD loved your cookies. We fought over them!!

always Hope everything will be ok with DS. Cannot begin to imagine how worried you must be.

hopefully How about casual trousers, smart shirt and heels?

FritziGreenEyes · 19/07/2012 21:00

Forgot to say how I loved reading about mini MUs: red/girlsofsummer and reine/ant's sister Smile

MrsCampbellBlack · 19/07/2012 21:04

Always - fingers crossed its just the GP being overly efficient which is of course a good thing but it turns out to be something reassuringly minor.

Hopefully - you know you really need to go shopping! You need more clothes and I don't think there is anyone else on this thread I would say that too. Wink

Agree weather should be good on Sunday - do you have any sundresses/casual day dresses? Unless you're a godparent and even then I think christenings are pretty relaxed nowadays. But definitely the De Manta.

I'm low-carbing as you all know - following the lovely Dr Briffa's plan and its pretty easy I must say.

DonaAna · 19/07/2012 21:11

Hoping for the best Always - hope you will sleep well tonight and everything will be sorted out tomorrow.

Night out in crazy heels. Outfit: crazy heels, favorite MiH skinnies (perfect fit, sky blue wash), Marc Jacobs chambray tee, pink 1950s retro hatbox suitcase (as seen on Fritzi's pins). Felt the outfit lacked something, decided to learn to walk in sky high 12 cm heels by going to the recycling center (3 blocks away). Honestly, I could just stop buying clothes in Matches and boutiques - found a perfect jean jacket there (In Wear, but looked like a Marc Jacobs, and perfect fit) for 3 euros. Unworn. Will be my new favorite.

Heels were a pain. Tried to do the sexy rolling walk but it's hard when the straps cut into your feet. In any case, got stopped and complimented by two passers-by - so next time I will practice more and also wear preventive blister plasters. Best comment: "Do you work in fashion?" Grin Also lovely talking for hours and hours with friends, had a glass of champagne and that didn't improve my walk...

blossoming · 19/07/2012 21:21

Well done dona, I wass desperately trying to buy some glittery Jimmy Choo peep toes recently, but the 120cm was just too high. I am fine in 100. Was gutted, but richer Wink

MarshaBrady · 19/07/2012 21:22

Blister plasters are great. Then again champagne can work wonders on the threshold of pain Grin

Sounds fabulous Dona!

notyummy · 19/07/2012 21:24

Always you poor thing, really hoping it turns out to be something minor

I keep promising myself I'll wear heels more often. I found a Lanvin pair in a box today that I lusted after for months until I tracked them down. I have never worn them as they are too high, I really need to make an effort!

blossoming · 19/07/2012 21:50

Logistics meant I couldn't go out with staff tonight, so am making up for it at home. Ignore any following posts [hic..]

Decameron no,friend'shusband never found.Sad
Been out with her tonight actually. She is tower of strength, amazing.
On lighter note, she adored Whistles animal print skinnies.Have to say they are amazingly flattering on.

NotSoGrumpy · 19/07/2012 23:36

always I hope everything will be ok, very worrying.

georgina so sorry about your friend's husband

MiM I'm so impressed that you managed to rise above it and not get bogged down in bitterness. You so deserve your lovely new top. How's your building work going?

Our builders still haven't finished, the work was meant to take 3 weeks and it's now nearly 2 months. We have a 2 side (of A4) snagging list... Still the wardrobes are in so I can unpack my clothes... Yay! It's not quite as good as a dressing room but we now have 4m of floor to ceiling wardrobes. Once it's all done I will start pinning, thanks for the Pinterest invitation decam

Lovely posts about mothering / parenting, I do love how this thread makes me think. As for reading, I used to read such a range of books and now seem to read lighter fiction, I do wonder when my brain will start to work again.

No S&B news, my only recent purchase has been this print for DD2's birthday. We have so many toys it seemed silly to buy more.

Portia4 · 20/07/2012 06:41

Always just wanted to say that I'm thinking of you, as someone else said, hopefully it's the doctor being overly efficient.

Doña your shoes sound great, well done on the jacket.

TGIF! Roll on the weekend! Now what to wear today.....

blossoming · 20/07/2012 08:38

Morning all. I am very pleased I didn't go out with staff last night. DS jumping on the bed at his usual 5.59, followed by a meltdown at 8am. Would have made it an even longer day! He goes to football academy today, sun is tentatively shining - hoping to be out of my socks/ugg boot combo round the house later!
DD had the most amazing meltdown last night before bed. I did not react much and hoping things will settle today. Am going to ignore her pleas for chocolate/sweets, and get some ground rules established. I don't really know what she gets away with with the CM.
Parents are off on holiday this afternoon. Will miss them and will not see them till September now. Really hope they'll be okay.
Hope you all have great days.

OllieinOrange · 20/07/2012 08:44

Always sorry to read your post. Wishing you lots of strength over the next few days.

I survived the maze which turned out to be waist high! Wore my coral jeans which i now really love. Ants saw your pin of some, you should def try them, would look great on you.

Spent the most lovely day yesterday cycling around the Ile de Re which has to be one of my favourite places ever. Boys were thrilled to discover a new TinTin shop so we brought a great print for DS1s room. Love holiday finds like that.
Loved seeing what French children were wearing - lots of bretons and little scarves, just so chic. Bloss saw a few shirt and short combos which looked great. Am itching to go shopping. Am going to suggest DH goes to Cognac for a few tastings so i can negotiate a city trip next week. Wink

MidnightinMoscow · 20/07/2012 08:57

Good morning. Always fingers crossed for a good outcome today.

Sounds fabulous Ollie, like the idea of a sneaky shopping trip.

NSG, we are only a couple of weeks in, most of the roof is off and the timber frame is up so you get an idea of what it will look like. House is constantly dusty though and the bedrooms are a total mess! Your wardrobes sound fab, cannot wait for that stage!

Georgina your poor friend, is there still an investigation ongoing?

Weather is looking good after today - at last.

Wearing some old J Brands 6120's, such a good fit for me. They only make them in white now though. Olympic torch here this evening, taking the DC's although I suspect it will be very crowded.

FritziGreenEyes · 20/07/2012 09:58

bloss Weather forecast is for more sun but not too hot here so your parents should have nice weather for their hiday. Do you think your DCs might need some time to adjust to holiday routine? I know when I pick up DD from my parents next week we will have a day of tantrums and whining (probably on both sides Wink) until we are back in sync.

georgina That is just awful about your friend's DH. Sad
