Ollie glad you are having a lovely time!

Amber and NY I was always the one who could get served, but was appalling at brazening it out, so rarely used to attempt it.

Marsha rip the plaster off and tell the guy Grin. Then you can stop feeling bad and concentrate on what you want to.

Still have comedy amounts of work to do. Somebody slap me if I appear on here again before I have done it.

MarshaBrady · 17/07/2012 09:54

Do it Hopefully! Put that lovely de Manta in your peripheral vision and glance at it and think. More of those please. Grin Yes plaster, will do. I mean fancy ringing someone at home. Seriously!

I was tall and one of the buyers as a teen too. It was one of those things that made me feel more grown up, I was quite reserved before mid-teens.

FritziGreenEyes · 17/07/2012 09:55

We are back! Rain here too. Have attempted colour-blocking with red skinnies and bubblegum-pink big scarf to cheer myself up. I'm at an art gallery where DD is doing a summer course for a couple of hours this week and I try to get the rest of my project finished. Have to go on workshop thingy for the whole of next week and I am resenting it so much. Wish I hadn't said yes. marsha Hope you make a wise decision re job you have been offered. Even if it's only six weeks.

pickled I'm sure bloss looks fab in a waterfall cardi. She will be remembered as the teacher in glam Davinas and Whistle pencil skirts!

dona Where are you? Love your aunts for encouraging purchase of lovely clothes. How old are they? I miss having any old relatives in our family I can relate to.

ollie Enjoy the sunshine and the glorious food. You will burn off some calories easily by playing hide and seek with GC in the maze Wink

amber Good luck with the test! I couldn't imagine my life without a driver's licence.

Has anyone heard from icey? I miss her posts...

alwaysrunninginheels · 17/07/2012 11:21

amber good luck. Will be such an achievement when you have it under your belt.

Am regretting not replacing my Thelma wedges before they fell apart....now cannot seem to find a pair anywhere apart from black(which I never wear in any way shape or form due to mother in law looking like the lady in black with fushia lips has put me off for life So if anyone see's ash Thelma's in any colour other than black in a 39 please let me know!

I am praying for sun here as I have 5 children for the next couple of days from dawn tip dusk! DD being rather demonic as the other 4 are boys and are doing their level best to ignore her. DD has had to be banished to her room after hitting her brother. Trying deep breaths and a mug if restorative tea!

darknessvisible · 17/07/2012 11:38

always I just found some in a 6 Wax Camel.

Amber good luck with the driving. I'm afraid it took me 5 goes to pass and the day that I did finally pass I managed to kangaroo-hop into my then-boyfriend's gatepost in front of him and all his (cool) friends. The car was significantly damaged too, along with my pride. Argh. I'm a very good driver now, I hasten to add...

MiM how did the nursery run go?

All this talk of extreme exercise has made me feel a bit guilty. I'm going to antenatal yoga on Saturday and have just bought the Davina pregnancy work-out. Anyone tried it?

Have my eye on some TS maternity Leighs in print and khaki and willl wear with my silver Ash wedges, I think...

You are right fritzi! My waterfall cardigan is cashmere with a cable design. It is fabulous. I am working on departmental stuff in a cold classroom wrapped up tightly in it. If I coul find a link I would pin it - under absolutely gorgeous!

FritziGreenEyes · 17/07/2012 11:48

Just ordered a Kindle Smile

darknessvisible · 17/07/2012 11:51

Fritzi Kindles are brilliant - I absolutely love mine and wouldn't be without it. I take it your first download will be the Fifty Shades trilogy Wink?

pickledsiblings · 17/07/2012 11:52

bloss Grin, cashmere/cable will gain you no brownie points with the yoof of today, get your mini shirt on!

pickledsiblings · 17/07/2012 11:52

and your mini skirt!!

blossoming · 17/07/2012 11:57

You know my green shorts fritzi? I am imagining them with a pewter plaited belt (Boden 2011) and a crisp white shirt with pockets for airport chic! Anyone see such a shirt? Must be copier paper white.

FritziGreenEyes · 17/07/2012 11:57

darkness I'm too old to waste time reading badly written books Wink

pickled I don't think it's a good idea to ingratiate yourself with your students by dressing like them.

FritziGreenEyes · 17/07/2012 11:59

bloss Wouldn't you get cold on the plane in shorts?

FritziGreenEyes · 17/07/2012 12:02

bloss For crisp white shirt: GAP? Zara? can imagine it won't be difficult to find something high-end at Matches or NAP as it is such a classic item. Finding the right shade of white might be easier to do in RL shops though.

You're right again fritzi. I have the unrealistic expectation that my £8 shorts will be the cornerstone of my holiday wardrobe!
Enjoy the kindle. Cannot imagine life without mine!

issima God yes, the Da Vinci Code. Wasted a whole day on holiday in Provence reading it. Stieg Larson also annoyed me no end...

bloss Could you wear Agnes and change into shorts after arrival?

FritziGreenEyes · 17/07/2012 12:14

DH has some beautiful Zegna shirts but insists TM Lewin fit him best Hmm

MidnightinMoscow · 17/07/2012 12:14

Hello All.

I wondered if I could ask for some wise advice, for something that sounds trivial, but for those who know a bit of background about my family - you may understand.

My mother has sent me a text by accident that was clearly intended fer her friend, my Godmother. The crux of it is that my parents are going to party this weekend, which she has asked her friend not to invite me, DH and the DC's too, as having us stay would be "a bit much for her to take". She has also explained to her friend that she has lied to me about the party because I can be quote, "difficult and jealous".

I am really hurt. Not because of the party, but rather that my mother has lied to me and is saying such things about me.

Now, for a confession. I went to the Dr's a while back, and started treatment for PND as I felt it was creeping up on me again. I have been feeling very positive since, and actually started to feel guilty about my relationship with my mother and wondered if the reason we have had so many problems is because of my PND. I am so annoyed with myself now.

I haven't responded yet.

Sorry for the rant and self absorbed post. Can I ask any of you what would you do?

DonaAna · 17/07/2012 12:16

Great Fritzi! Love my Kindle! Your outfit sounds fab, as does the art gallery!
I'm somewhere in the Nordics (my Pin board may give some clues where) - superb weather today, the sea is brilliantly blue, it's positively hot. Have spent the morning running errands, which means island-hopping around here. Wearing my Hasbeens, the Marant and the green Zatchel. Most of my family members live near here, my aunts are almost 70 but they are still very girly - really eternal ingenues. They help a lot with DC which is lovely.

Did something crazy and bought the crazy shoes (on Pin) Shock They are a memento from my home town (an up and coming designer here), and I'm planning on combining them with either very sleek and simple cocktail shifts or perhaps jeans and a white blouse. Will be about 6'1" in them (thank God DH is very tall)... Need to practice my walk, need to learn how to climb the stairs in them.

Near where we live there is a large open-air vintage market. Bought a lovely rainbow colored rain jacket for DD2 and a strawberry shaped doll house for DD 2 for a total of 9 euros - DC love the doll house and it's good to have something like that to keep them occupied, should the rain clouds re-emerge. We are planning an outing for the afternoon as the sky is still clear.

Marsha sending you bon courage vibes re: job.

Darkness no need for extreme exercise right now - take it slow, you are allowed to! I actually hate exercise but have walked more than 7km today running errands (window shopping is my favorite form of exercise). When jogging, I keep my brain occupied with enjoyable radio programs and audiobooks - too dull otherwise.

I'm still baby faced. Got carded quite recently when buying a few bottles of beer... Said to the salesperson that I'm 21 years past the legal limit Grin

FritziGreenEyes · 17/07/2012 12:19

mim So sorry to hear that you have to deal with your Mum's odd behaviour again. I would be hurt beyond measure. Not sure what the best thing to do would be. For me PND made the relationship with my mother definitely more complicated. Please continue seeing your doctor. Nothing to feel ashamed about and don't feel guilty about your Mum
