Do it Amber Grin

I bet some one on here can rock these metallic leather bad boys.

blossoming · 13/07/2012 20:40

That someone would not be me marsha!
I admit to being a bit Hmm about those wedge trainers amber, till I saw someone wearing them in Chester and totally 'got' it. Just not for me.
That's it seventh, I think dona is dramatic ingenue.
And dona, I am sitting here in thick socks, ugg boots, jeans, vest and jumper. I am just about warm enough!
Cheers mim!

blossoming · 13/07/2012 21:01

In that case, what about this scarf seventh?

Hopefully · 13/07/2012 21:29

Bloss I saw that scarf earlier and thought of SE Grin

Wedge trainers annoy me purely because they remove the one good thing about trainers (comfort) while leaving all the trainer-ness behind. Although I agree wedge trainers can work with the right outfit, I don't think they necessarily look better than, you know, trainers.

Currently packing for honeyminimoon (as DH has christened it). I think I am more excited about leisurely hotel breakfast (served in our room) with the papers than about any other aspect of the weekend Grin. Although v excited about everything else too. Will be lovely to be able to chat about moving to new house in actual, rather than hypothetical terms too.

blossoming · 13/07/2012 21:42

Very you amber
Well done on the house hopefully. Have fun on your mini moon!

SE I love that one, but think the fading from one colour to another is a bit washy for me. Gorgeous YSL one - wonder if I might pass a shop that has it so i can ogle it on the weekend..

All packed, which is astonishingly organised for me! Fingers crossed foot holds up for a weekend of wandering London Smile

DonaAna · 13/07/2012 22:10

Ladies, have fun with these style personality pictures. I would wear the Classic and Dramatic Gamine and Classic Dramatic looks and some City Chic. Classic Ingenue seems to be all about sheen - I don't really do shiny fabrics. Not even in cocktail dresses.

Hmmm Bloss, wonder if should I take the Uggs along... Err, packed flipflops and a bikini. Get the raspberry Balenciaga!!!

Like the Ashes on you Amber, you will rock them, and love the metallic leather leggings.

Is Ants a Natural Classic?

notyummy · 13/07/2012 22:47

Love that site Dona. I was diagnosed by ladies here as natural dramatic (or the other way round) and that seem to confirm it.

Dinner party in full flow. All good thus far.

Good on you NY you are the hostess with the mostess for sure :)

Lovely blouse Emo Happy anniversary ANts

Starting to see results of exercising woohoo esp arms and stomach muscles. Read the best parenting book I have ever read tonight (see board!) very inspiring.

AntPants1 · 14/07/2012 07:02

Funnily enough Dona that was the page I was most drawn to. Liked the statement jewellery in the natural classic thigh - but not the winter colours- ie silver

Had a lovely evening. Thanks for all your good wishes. DH and I drank too much champagne. I feel today might be a 'slow' day!!!

Wore new whistles leopard skinnies. Not sure they gave that much BTW. Love them.

MarshaBrady · 14/07/2012 07:59

Sounds lovely Ants and NY.

I cannot do shiny like that classic ingenue either. I even have to be careful with silk. Really good fabric but matt. Say cashmere, wool or fine knit. Good colour.

Yes love a good hotel breakfast.

notyummy · 14/07/2012 09:37

Good work on the exercise GoS.

Hope you have an amazing time in London Hopefully. And a big YES to hotel breakfasts (as anyone who has seen me at the breakfast buffet at the MUs will attest to Blush.

Knackered after staying up late with DH to tidy after dinner party. Got a busy day today and tomorrow. Birthday parties..... Wearing indigo coated skinnies, grey boots and a top yet to be selected for todays, and need a another outfit for DDs tomorrow (although it is in soft play hell, so practicality will have to have some bearing.)

Enjoy your weekends.

I thiunk I like it Josey - certianly different from most stuff on the high street at the moment and sure to be lovely quality. No sure if it would suit someone busty because of the cut - and harder to carry off if you are short I would have thought.

Am feeling a bit hung over so powers of resistance are low..have ordered Massimo Dutti heals....MUST STOP BUYINH SHOES!!!!!

AmberNectarine · 14/07/2012 12:19

Hello all,

Am in a mood today because DH was a being a twit last night. Have started AIBU about it, and have been told more or less unanimously that IANBU, which is reassuring.

Off to fancy dress party for DCs today. DS is going as Lightning McQueen and DD a strawberry. I am going as their mum in Goldsign skinnies, Malene Birger Breton tunic, suede ankle boots and pink Marant scarf.

darknessvisible · 14/07/2012 13:20

I'm going to try and catch up on the thread tonight but wanted to say to Amber that I've seen your thread on AIBU and I'm Angry on your behalf - one of the clearest YANBU I have seen!

AntPants1 · 14/07/2012 13:51

amber my love I have just scanned your thred on AIBU. I am not going to reply on there as it is a bear pit and it scares me! But (a) YANBU (b) pm me if you want the name of a good childminder for this weekend- just to hold your hand/ help with bath time madness etc. I am so sorry your DH has let you down. You do need to get your DD to take milk from a bottle/ cup but this weekend is not the time to tackle that. But I promise you you will feel so much freer when she is a bit let dependant on you. I totally emphasise with you. My DS would not take a bottle/ cup until 10 months and it was draining.

Enjoy the fancy dress party. Your outfits (particularly yours) sound fantastic.

Decameron · 14/07/2012 14:29

Amber, you are definitely not being unreasonable! I had a night nanny for DD1 a couple of times. She was a real Mary Poppins. Hope you enjoy the party.

We were supposed to go out to dinner but DD1 is throwing up, poor little thing, so have cancelled.

Lovely shoes, Ants.

Hope you are having a great time, Hopefully.

AmberNectarine · 14/07/2012 16:28

You know what, I can deal with the constantly waking baby, the lack of freedom and DH's long hours, but when he then tells me I am being selfish to want a bit of sleep I do lose my rag. He whined round me before he left asking to make up, and I didn't put up a fight because I couldn't be bothered, but he's going to have to go a long way to make this up. He has promised me an afternoon off tomorrow and I intend to take it, even if I just go to Starbucks and read glossies.

decam oh no! Hope your DD feels better soon (and that it's not infectious!)

MidnightinMoscow · 14/07/2012 18:48

Amber darling, big hug.

AmberNectarine · 14/07/2012 19:48

Thanks MiM, I'm fine, honest. His selfish tendencies are the one thing I can see ever breaking up our marriage. Thy won't, because I love him to bits and will put up with it, but sometimes I just feel like shaking him and asking why he can't see how unreasonable he is being!

Never mind, going to put the kids to bed, have some Wine and put my feet up!
