Just running in to report I have bought the the whistles leopard skinnies. I love them ( even though I am much bigger than 40 bum lady or the lovely red!!!). May wear them tonight. Am off it with DH. It's our 10 year wedding anniversary today! Oh and good man he got me the gold heart earrings on my lusting after board!!!

alwaysrunninginheels · 13/07/2012 14:44

Have just had a look at anya hindmarch a/w bag brochure.....I do admit to having a bag problem.....but reminded me of ollie mentioning the fact 40 has her heading to the sequins- I could completely relate- and anya's a/w collection is full of glittery handbags. I may be in heaven!

gw I have the whistles leopard print jeans of DMBL40 fame and they are lovely. Think they would suit lots of shapes and sizes. And they look great with lots of different things.

Waiting for my DH to return with my sales deliveries that arrived while we were on holiday. V excited......red j brands, leather jacket, sequin cardigan....the only down side is they will not be able to be passed off as "oh, this old thing....

alwaysrunninginheels · 13/07/2012 14:47

Yikes ants mentioning your 10 year anniversary has reminded me it's mine on Sunday. Goodness that had completely slipped my mind. Must buy card and champers!

alwaysrunninginheels · 13/07/2012 14:48

Mhhh not sure why last post went but ants V jealous of gold earrings. Have a good night!

GeorginaWorsley · 13/07/2012 14:56

Oooh,am heading to Whistles site now....
Have decided to embrace the buy less but better maxim.....

blue2711 · 13/07/2012 14:59

I've just come out as classic which I probably would have guessed, but hmm, there must be something else in there too, some kind of an edge. Like romantic details in summer like broderie or floral but still with clean lines, and I like a few dramatic details in winter. Or am I completely mis-analysing myself? dona I think you know yourself very well! Y to dramatic classic, although I think you have some romantic in there too possibly?

Bit disappointed that after a day and a half's wear the whistles animal print skinnies have given quite a lot. Would size down if I could but will probably keep them as love the print and colours so much. I feeling bit Sad after doing this where are you on the global fat scale? quiz and coming out as being most like an Ethiopian woman. Warning, do not take the results too seriously! Right, off to eat some cake.

GeorginaWorsley · 13/07/2012 15:03

Interesting re sizing down,am undecided between 30 or 28...
Normally would buy 12 in skinnies

blue2711 · 13/07/2012 15:08

I would size down GW. My usual size seemed perfect on first try on but I've definitely got some spare room now. They're not as small as TS or J Brand or CE. Great though!

DonaAna · 13/07/2012 15:12

Ooh cannot resist a good quiz - (have updated packing list on computer - I travel so much I always have it handy on my hard disk - makes packing much more painless as it is a checklist) - am Ethiopian too. Well, I certainly like their food

Blue you are edgier and more contemporary and glamorous than I am but definitely classic. I'd say you have a good dose of LA movie star / model sleekness and fabulousness thrown into the mix. Love your board, so stylish.

And yes, I have a weakness for romantic, as long as it's quite clean-lined (love Valentino, have lots of RED Valentino in my closet. My excuse: Valentino is a truly Roman label). I think I was girly-classic when younger and some of that is still lingering, and now graduating to more drama. Love Meryl Streep as Anna Wintour in The Devil Wears Prada - true role model! Wink

Good shopping vibes to everyone, will pack now. And re: 10th anniversary, mine is on Aug 31, and DH and I will be in different countries then. Very typical for us, unfortunately...

GeorginaWorsley · 13/07/2012 15:12

Thanks blue.
Will prob order via John Lewis for free P and P and easy returns.
Am liking Whistles I must say, looking forward to seeing the Autumn stuff.

Russianred · 13/07/2012 15:20

This is not good news Blue - the 26 fit well at the moment and don't want much bigger - was convinced the material wouldn't bag given its feel. GW am normally a 26 - no way could I have got into a 24. What have you worn them with Blue? Ants they are completely, completely you - what will you be wearing with? Congratulations on 10 years!

Am mulling over what to wear tomorrow Decam - I thought the Whistles Victoria too, but is black acceptable at a wedding?? It's an outdoorsy one and is going to be chucking it down tomorrow. Might have to wear the yellow Primark one with opaques again.

Very disciplined with the McQueen Hopefully. Must say, I am more (really) disciplined now with what suits me. Or perhaps I have just started to ignore that which doesn't rather than cooing over everything!

I'm not sure about style or colours really. I know I suit red and yellow.

MIM love your pins, and chuckled at your Hattie picture!
I have a few of the same clothes,DP stripy maxi,Janice dress,etc.
Also have a cream kitchen !

notyummy · 13/07/2012 15:48

I like the sound of the yellow dress for the wedding Red - brightening up a rainy day and all that. And summery - even if the weather doesn't play ball.

Ants - Congratulations on the anniversary!

Sounds like these leopard skinnies are getting a lot of love! I have held out against printed skinnies so far for a number of reasons (convinced they will make the bits I like the l;erast - thighs, hips and bottom - look bigger; and just not sure what to wear them with.) May have to at least try some on though, otherwise I can't be sure!

Hopefully - well done on being Wise.

Good to hear from you PIckled - I thought it was, but wasn't 100% sure until you confirmed it!

twelve pages in !! I am looking forward to a good read later this eve

just wanted to say that this blouse whilst somewhat low cut at the front is a keeper!

blue2711 · 13/07/2012 16:20

It's horridly grey and rainy here today so I have AW-ified the whistles skinnies (yes, we need a roll call of owners!) with a plain black vest and this cardigan which colour wise matches exactly but perhaps stripes and leopard is a but much? Ankle boots of course, I have some battered suede ones of a similar light beige colour. A rather casual outfit for me but I've just been at a third birthday party today. Thinking of wearing them on a girls' dinner out on saturday night with neon pink RS heels and a black chiffon vest top.

ny hope your DH appreciates your domestic goddessry (goodness I'm making up lots of words today). Have fun.
dona thanks so much for your style appraisal. Very flattered!

blue2711 · 13/07/2012 16:25

Congratulations ants!
red I might be in the minority but I think black is appropriate for a wedding these days with the right accessories, although perhaps less so for a very church-y (there I go again) middle England wedding. What do you all think of 40bum's white dress which she wants to wear to a wedding in Italy? It has prompted heated debate!

GeorginaWorsley · 13/07/2012 16:31

I think the Whistlesskinnies are 2012 version of the Janice!!

pickledsiblings · 13/07/2012 16:32

Lovely spotty blouse Emo.

NY, hope tonight goes well and try not to mess your lovely clean and tidy house up too much. Love the pre-emptive shred Smile.

Red, that black dress looks so good on you, I think it would work for a Wedding, just don't wear your hair up and perhaps accessorise it in a funky way - bright pink shoes and a clashing neon/bright bag. Have fun. So pleased you are enjoying your new school and that the staff are nice - can you share some book choices with us? Didn't do A level Eng Lit but perhaps I could do it vicariously...

Ollie, your lovely holiday home in France awaits (you are going to the same place as last year, aren't you?)...are you there yet!

DonaAna · 13/07/2012 16:45

Done with packing. The minimalist approach: a plastic bag for each child, plus one extra for rainwear. Mine is a huge immigrant-style plastic sack (6 euros), the DvF and Marni gets to travel first class in DH's slightly more structured suitcase Confused Scandinavia is very laid-back except for some more uptight yuppie areas in Stockholm and Oslo and Copenhagen, so basically I could spend the entire 1,5 months in jogging gear and nobody would notice. But am organizing a party and will take some of my better clothes for that reason - plus will have one or two minibreaks in the Baltics - and I like sharp city clothes when travelling. Handbags that get to come along are Mini Gracie and Lily.

Like Emo's blouse. Would not wear white to a wedding - there are lots of other conventions that I can defy - but black is seminormative in Italian weddings and yellow would be fabulous.

Very impressed with NY's organization skills!

I deserve a good run now and all the carbs in the world.
DH will have to pack in the middle of the night and it's always painful to watch him... so better get out. Nanny has been an angel and has promised to come tomorrow morning to pick up after us and to do some laundry and arranging - so all in all we are in good hands.

Decameron · 13/07/2012 16:57

I've worn black to a wedding, Red, and wasn't the only one.

Bon voyage, Dona!

Decameron · 13/07/2012 17:19

Hope the dinner party goes well, NY, I'm sure it will.

AntPants1 · 13/07/2012 17:26

Well done on wifely perfection NY!

red am thinking of wearing French connection cowl neck top with new trousers. Have a pin on my board. Along with nude/ coral striped high heals old gold clutch, gold kurt Geiger cuff and new gold earings- all on my wardrobe board!! ( can you see I am a convert to pinterest!!!)

AntPants1 · 13/07/2012 17:33

My then sister in law wore black to my wedding. Head to toe black. Black A line dress, black opaques and black shoes. Wedding was in July. Boiling hot day in Richmond Park. Everyone in summer dresses. She looks like cruella du vile in all the photos. Just saying!!!!!
