I know it is, but I think it really looks it too, IYSWIM. The creased layered look they seem so fond of (in the windows in my branch anyway) even looks dodgy on the mannequins (sp?) ! Naffola

NomDePlume · 02/03/2006 09:56

hunker, me too. Only good thing I ever got was a top by Plein Sud for work.

mumsnetminx · 02/03/2006 09:56

HOw cjoudl we forget ZARA and Mango

CoveredInBees · 02/03/2006 09:58

I must forget about them mumsnetminx because my arse is too big
got stuck in a pair of trousers last time I went in MAngo Blush
never again

NomDePlume · 02/03/2006 09:59

Zara are great. Never seen anything I like in Mango.

Northerner · 02/03/2006 09:59

Lol Hunker - I used to think that. Used to hate TK Maxx. Trick is to go without kids and rummage.

expatinscotland · 02/03/2006 09:59

I don't bother w/TK Maxx. I can never find FA in there - it's laid out as if someone on speed organised the shop.

I also cheat by ordering a lot of clothes online at US sites, have them sent to my mother's address and then she brings them up w/her when she visit.

expatinscotland · 02/03/2006 10:00

I really like Zara.

weirdo · 02/03/2006 10:00

last time I went to tkmaxx everything I tried on smelled of vomit

Bozza · 02/03/2006 10:00

New Look good for one season clothes, I think.

I find Next a bit boring but keep getting drawn back because of having the directory so can warm to items in there and also because of going to Next to Nothing.

I want some cheap skinny jeans. Where to go?

NomDePlume · 02/03/2006 10:00

lol @ 'someone on speed organsied the shop' Grin

Used to love Sisley, but they closed my local branch Sad.

mumsnetminx · 02/03/2006 10:01

Reiss is another great one. Not cheap but have some gorgeous stuff. Thougth this season is not good

Nbg · 02/03/2006 10:02

Is it just me then that thinks Zara and Mango sell trousers for giants?

NomDePlume · 02/03/2006 10:02

I love Reiss mens stuff, they always choose really stunnign models too for their campaigns

mumsnetminx · 02/03/2006 10:02

FCUK

expatinscotland · 02/03/2006 10:02

Seriously, NdP, it's worse than a market stall in Mexico City. Things are just hodgepodge thrown together w/no regard to anything. It's like surrearlism in a shop.

mumsnetminx · 02/03/2006 10:02

yes theya re long Grin

NomDePlume · 02/03/2006 10:03

I like Zara's leg lengths, but then I've got a 32" inside leg, not hugely long or at all rare but you'd think it was with the 'standard' lengths of some shops. Grrrr

hunkermunker · 02/03/2006 10:05

Does anyone else panic if they get stuck in a garment in a changing room?

Nbg · 02/03/2006 10:05

I am a short arse though Grin

expatinscotland · 02/03/2006 10:07

i avoid changing rooms entirely, hunker. i'm the type to buy it, take it home to try it on, and if i don't like it, i take it back.

Bozza · 02/03/2006 10:07

Have fallen out with Zara after I bought a coat in November - last night I had to sew back on every single fastening button plus one on the shoulder. Most of these buttons have already been sewn on several times. I am really cross about it.

Northerner · 02/03/2006 10:08

If you can get over the carnage that is TK Maxx you will find some fab pieces at fab prices.

I have bought seven jeans, lovely knitwear and going out tops from there. My best bargain was a Betty Jackson wrap dress for £3!!!!

Ok, I know they are not in now but I love it.

NomDePlume · 02/03/2006 10:08

me too, expat. Changing rooms are generally either too hot, too crowded, too open plan/public, and have you noticed that the curtain NEVER, ever pulls all the way across ?!

expatinscotland · 02/03/2006 10:09

I can't get over the carnage.
