I bought a wide belt years ago and it's still fab. Don't really know how to wear it, though, so haven't. Will NEVER give up my bootcut trousers. Skinny jeans just don't look good on me. And personally, I think they're yucky past a certain age. I mean, did anyone see that 10 Year Younger trying to pull those off. Yikes! It wasn't pretty - well, neither is she.

\link{http://www.asos.com/Gwen-Stefani/Gwen-Spot-Shirt-Dress/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=76981&cid=1391\I've just ordered this - polka dots, and would look good with a wide belt}

CarolinaMoon · 02/03/2006 09:12

how do you know though?

I am so crap at fashion Blush

Bozza · 02/03/2006 09:13

Well cod you have just proved to me how very out of touch I am. Some of the things that I thought were coming in are actually already out (eg stripey jumpers).

And how can cropped trousers be a new fashion? They were all over the place in the winter and last summer.

meggmoo · 02/03/2006 09:14

Nbg, I have them, they are great but I can't walk in them, just loved them as doon as I saw them.
And polka dots! Am the queen of polka dots and will be digging out all my stuff from years gone by Smile

expatinscotland · 02/03/2006 09:14

Lovely, northerner, but the hem's a touch too high for my age, methinks.

Nbg · 02/03/2006 09:14

\link{http://www.marksandspencer.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Merchant_Id=1&Section_Id=8567&Product_Id=1952211\anyone like these?}

expatinscotland · 02/03/2006 09:15

No, Nbg, I don't. Especially not for £35 Shock

Nbg · 02/03/2006 09:16

Ooooh MM am Envy

How big is the heel?

Blackduck · 02/03/2006 09:17

Lovely northerner - but with expat - my days of wearing that length are loooooooooong gone...

meggmoo · 02/03/2006 09:17

Didn't like them when I saw the pic but actually they'd prob look great with jeans. I like these

\link{http://www.principles.co.uk/pws/ProductDetails.ice?ProductID=5\mmmm shoes}

Nbg · 02/03/2006 09:17

Oooh I like Northener.
Very nice!

Bozza · 02/03/2006 09:18

Very short though northerner. I would like it with skinny jeans on me but then would need to wear a heel or I would look like I had no legs.

meggmoo · 02/03/2006 09:18

about 3 inches I think. I'm used to trainers though

MrsBadger · 02/03/2006 09:18

well, that's handy to know, because I still haven't got round to buying
a stripey jumper
a wrap dress
a boho belt, or indeed anything boho

and I have left over from years ago
a skinny patent belt
some flat boots

Will be turning down pinafores and all varieties of cropped legwear though. Also empire line anything, which makes me look humungous.

Cod - the Fashionable Fish

Northerner · 02/03/2006 09:18

No NBG I don't like those pumps either.

Expatinscotland - how old are you?!!!!

expatinscotland · 02/03/2006 09:19

35, northerner. I don't do minis anymore. Or anything above the knees.

meggmoo · 02/03/2006 09:19

Love clam-diggers capri pants but don't think I can get away with them being very gifted in the norkage dept. Damn they're my fave thing too!

Bozza · 02/03/2006 09:19

V. expensive shoes though for what they are meggmoo - the principles ones I mean.

Nbg · 02/03/2006 09:19

I like them as well MM.

They look like they're suede, they must be for £45.

Northerner · 02/03/2006 09:20

Whats the rule for skirts above the hem? Is it no if over 30?

stitch · 02/03/2006 09:20

oh fgs.
i will wear what i like. and look halfway decent in. who the hell are some stupid magazines to dictate what i can and cant wear.

meggmoo · 02/03/2006 09:21

but still lovely though and quite unusual. I'm after some cheapish red patent ballet pumps. Any ideas??

expatinscotland · 02/03/2006 09:21

I'm not sure, northerner, but it looks tasteless on 35+, IMO.

Bozza · 02/03/2006 09:22

If I got a pinafore dress I just know I would commit the faux pas of accidentally dressing me and 1 yo DD the same. I have sometimes got to about 3 pm and realised that we are both wearing jeans and pink tops and thought "argh"! Or cord skirts and polo necks.

And I have a baker boy hat and every time I wear it DD insists on wearing hers as well.
