expatinscotland · 02/03/2006 09:46

Jigsaw is out of my budget.

NEXT. I like NEXT. Especially for work clothes.

hunkermunker · 02/03/2006 09:47

I did that the other day, MNM. It's arse Sad

cod · 02/03/2006 09:47

i must smash the " top shop is goo d" myth

NomDePlume · 02/03/2006 09:47

Next aren't 'fashion' though, either really. Great for stuff to knock around with the kids in, but not a place I'd go to for up to the minute gear (not that I wear 'up to the minute')

hunkermunker · 02/03/2006 09:48

Am liking CoveredInBees as a chatname though Smile

mumsnetminx · 02/03/2006 09:48

Jigsaw used to be gorgeous but now seems to be mumsy and floaty and alweays green and burghandy.

I always glance at it but then move on. Kew is the cheap side of Jigsaw

CoveredInBees · 02/03/2006 09:48

"jigsaw for mumsy" Shock
topshop is utter shit
Next is ok for casual but their sizes are weird and their suits are rank

Nbg · 02/03/2006 09:48

I do love Topshop, I must admit but over the last year have only bought 2 things from there and the prices are going up considerably.

cod · 02/03/2006 09:49

dittoo river island
now for trashy gals

OP posts:
CoveredInBees · 02/03/2006 09:49

OP posts:
weirdo · 02/03/2006 09:50

river island is vile
so is oasis i went into one yesterday and it all looked like something from a market stall

Northerner · 02/03/2006 09:51

I hate Next. Overpriced and over rated IMO. Not at all fashionable.

I like:
Topshop (you don't have to be 8 and a size 4 at all)
H&M
River Island
Jane Norman
TK Maxx - great for designer baragins

NomDePlume · 02/03/2006 09:52

and Next jeans are gross ! Really awful fit, make my reasonably small-average bottom look MASSIVE

mumsnetminx · 02/03/2006 09:52

bought some great tops in TS, simple and plain. Actuallly not bought anything else there as it really is good for teenage girls. The big one in Oxford street as good ideas

New Look good too

weirdo · 02/03/2006 09:52

tkmaxx makes me shudder with horror

yoyo · 02/03/2006 09:52

BonyM - I saw that on the "boyfriend" jeans too. Was going to give the ones from Warehouse a go although as I am short in the leg they will probably look awful (but not as bad as skinny). The BF jeans look very comfy and practical!

NomDePlume · 02/03/2006 09:53

I can't bear H&M for adult clothes, sh*t fabrics and really obviously cheaply made.

mumsnetminx · 02/03/2006 09:53

but h&M is cheap. One season wonders

hunkermunker · 02/03/2006 09:54

TK Maxx - everyone I know has bought the most gorgeous things in there, for arse all money.

Whenever I go in there, there are mad stripey jumpers with too many arms, mentally be-buttoned lime green mackintoshes and ginger acrylic blouses with doilies on the front.

What am I doing wrong?
