Quick! Boden sale has started (at freakin' last!)

Hoorah! :)

Got the Johnnie B Vintage Boots and a couple of Ts.

Anyone else a little dissapointed that the discounts weren't as big as I'd thought?

Initial browse has yielded nothing I want. May have another look later at Johnnie B. Think some of the reductions are still poor.

pocketandsweet · 08/07/2012 17:31

Def not big enough reductions to justify buying especially since I would have to pay extra shipping to get it here before we leave for holidays. I really think they need to rethink their sales timings- all our summer clothes have come from elsewhere this year.

NewChoos · 08/07/2012 17:52

Marvellous - ordered a few things for the baby myself

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey · 08/07/2012 18:02

There wasn't much i wanted but got a few bits, placed two orders so eveything didn't vanish from my basket.

Would have brought more but some of the stuff i wanted, that they appear to have loads of was only reduced by £7.00!!

Might go back tomorrow and have a look - put three pairs of shoes in my basket then changed my mind.

JemimaMuddledUp · 08/07/2012 18:21

Bought the swimsuits/swimshorts that the DC and DH wanted for hols, plus a couple of tops for the DC. All I got for myself was a cami. I fancied a dress, but the discount wasn't enough on it.

Oh well, my bank balance will be happy at least....

woopsidaisy · 08/07/2012 18:31

Ordered the Must Have Bag in yellow and navy, and pumps in green and navy. So will be sending at least one of each of those back. Then socks for DSs and DH, t-shirts for DSs.
There wasn't very much off the maternity range at all! I am just 36 weeks, so not buying any more, but had a look and didn't think the reductions were enough. Still way more expensive than high street maternity stuff.

AlpinePony · 08/07/2012 18:41

Jeans 58 down to 50? Fuck off eh? Hmm

perceptionreality · 08/07/2012 18:52

I only went for the stuff that had decent reductions. There's no point otherwise with the £4 discount on top.

gregssausageroll · 08/07/2012 19:15

Blimey, not many big reductions are there? Not really what I would call a sale. You can get more off with some of the discount codes at the start of the season.

alemci · 08/07/2012 19:22

I bought a tunic for £27 again in blue which is all i ever seem to buy. stuff was disappointing this year. I bought swimwear when they had a good reduction recently.

I think alot of the stuff in the shops has been tat this year. don't want to buy much of it.

PropertyNightmare · 08/07/2012 19:29

I was only shopping for 50% reductions mimimum so got 2 things at that percentage off I wanted for my son (am really pleased with them) but left other bits I had my eye on for him as discount not good enough.

QuiteOldGal · 08/07/2012 19:46

I think I'm going to wait a couple of weeks for further reductions and by then there should be a free delivery code that works. Its still all too expensive and there will be some returns by then. I always regret buying stuff too early, paying postage and then its further discounted.

LaurieFairyCake · 08/07/2012 19:51

The stuff is dearer than it was with the 20% discount and with the 40% off last week - they must think we're dim Hmm

mirpuppet · 08/07/2012 20:17

Rubbish sale.

Agree with LauriFairyCake they must think we are dim.

Dawndonna · 08/07/2012 20:27

I didn't get anything. I may get one of the long cardigans, down from 125 to 50. But that's about it. I looked at the leggings and wondered why they bothered reducing them, I don't think it was even a four quid reduction.
Seems a bit of a con to me. Whip it up a bit on faceache and hope people buy.

WhispersOfWickedness · 08/07/2012 20:38

Hi all, just wondering if you can help with a quick question. I've not bought from Boden before, but it'll be DD's first birthday at the end of August, so I'm looking for a nice dress for her. She is about average size wise, how is the sizing for the kids clothes? No idea whether to look at 6-12 months or 12-18 months!

CornishKK · 08/07/2012 20:41

WoW - Boden is tiny, go for the bigger size!

Abzs · 08/07/2012 20:43

I haven't bought anything either. Thought I'd get some tops at least, but I think I'll just be going into town this week - have a £30 voucher for Next(but they're pretty uninspiring just now too).

MrsJohnDeere · 08/07/2012 20:45

First time in 7 years that I've bought nothing in the sale. The only things I might have been tempted were things I'd bought at a cheaper price weeks ago.

rookiemater · 08/07/2012 20:48

Does anyone have a discount code for p&p ?

WhispersOfWickedness · 08/07/2012 21:02

Thanks CornishKK - I've changed my mind now though as the only ones I like are not available in the right size! Might start a thread to get lovely MNetters to help me :o

Squitch · 08/07/2012 21:38

I was after a top, didn't want to pay £79 for it it was reduced to £59 in the sale (which is a shit reduction as far as I'm concerned) - but I REALLY wanted it, will go perfectly with a skirt i impulse bought from JL. Put it in the basket went to pay and it vanished. I HATE Boden. (Though on a plus side I had a quick shifty on Shopstyle for something similar and have ended up ordering a top from Jaeger which is much nicer and one from DP for £2 more than the Boden one)

QueenieLovesEels · 08/07/2012 22:16

Very poor show Boden.

Cashmere cropped Cardigans are reduced by bugger all. The wait on them is longer than for the autumn ones.

Boden really is a disappointment nowadays.

I'm done with this company.

perceptionreality · 08/07/2012 22:32

meant £4 delivery obviously*

I never buy for me - only the dcs. The shorts had good discounts and I bought some of them only because we're going to Tenerife this year (we don't go abroad every year) I also got a petticoat skirt for dd2 because she doesn't have anything like it and dd3 can have it after her.

In the UK we're not having much of a summer are we? So a lot of the very summery stuff is useless most of the time - I'm surprised there wasn't more of a discount.
