Dd will end up in trainers when she's a bridesmaid unless you can help me

Dd1 is disabled, wears orthotic splints on her feet. Really only lace-up shoes work, or shoes with high fronts - so no ballet shoes, sandals, boots, heels, etc, etc.

She tends to wear quite funky trainers outside school, and boy-style black shoes for school.

She is going to be a bridesmaid at the end of the month and I am tearing my hair out googling for shoes. Everything is ballet shoes or Mary Janes. Does no-one sell rather lovely delicate trainer-type shoes? Or even something different like a jewelled converse boot?

Have tried Next, Monsoon, Converse, Lelli Kelly [retch], Bhs - anyone else for me to try?

I picked up some lovely converse-style shoes in Sainsburys last year. They had a floral pattern and a few sequins too ... might be worth a try!

What size ? Do they need to be extra wide ?

I got cream with pink ribbon laces and silver with a lacy "overprint" . THey are really pretty. I think the clarks lady thought I was mad but at £10 I bought both colours for both girls and have thrown some stinky rubbish canvas shoes away!

I wore green/blue tartan Doc Martens with my wedding dress, with ivory ribbon laces Maybe that's a look she could go for?

You could always decorate a plain pair with shoe decorations or sequins and if lace up, some pretty laces.

Skechers have lots of funky glittery fancy trainers that lace up.

Could you customise a trainer for her on NikeiD?

What about the Startrite Lottie in white? Are they too like Mary Janes?
