New thread!

The fake tan is on (with requisite orange patches, naturally) and hair is done. I'm on countdown to Big Night Out, aware that will have to get ready whilst putting 2 DC to bed.

40bum lady is wearing my black suede Zara sandals today. I heartily recommend. She goes out a lot, doesn't she?! Envy. I have a wardrobe full of going out clothes but not enough occasions to wear them all!

bloss is right: coats and warm jackets are the way forward. I am stupid; I have 20 odd blazers and lightweight jackets perfect for May to September but only 1 jacket and 2 coats I like for September to April. Must rectify.

Reine, enjoy the Stone Roses, I'm jealous!

DonaAna, I was wondering what you were doing in Rome (nosy emoticon).

Kids fly around on their scooters here, they terrify me. I will only allow DD1 use hers in the park (I don't trust her not to run out on the road if she sees a friend or a cat).

I did a major clear out (thank you, Pinterest) and so allowed myself to order a Whistles seam back navy tee to replace my old Gap one. The pink coat is gone along with a very dodgy, red stripe Ralph Lauren shirt amongst other things. I must have looked like Gordon Gekko in it!Blush

Red, enjoy the wedding!

DH won't be home for hours so I am going to watch Carnage and have a glass of wine.

Hope your phone dries out, Hopefully.

Night all!

MidnightinMoscow · 29/06/2012 21:01

Have a lovely evening Decam.

Hmmm, tonight's meal might not be up to scratch. Have had two rather large G&T's, leading to a carefree approach with the griddle. I have no idea how Floyd managed to be pissed and cook at all the time.

No news from Looby today - maybe things are happening/have happened?

Have fun at the wedding tomorrow Red.

MrsCampbellBlack · 29/06/2012 21:05

MIM love that top!

6lbs down now with low carbing and roasted fennel is my new favorite thing to eat.

Last episode of 'episodes' tonight - anyone watching - it is hilarious.

Decameron · 29/06/2012 21:08

I loved Keith Floyd, such a character. He lived near my parents' holiday house in Cork, we used to see him in the local bars.

DonaAna · 29/06/2012 21:13

I had a freak accident once - dropped my iPhone into a glass of water on my night table. I'll probably be one of those people who manage to drown in a plate of soup eventually.

Jogging night. The Sweaty Betty top was a-may-zing. Thanks Bloss. Love the fluorescent red color - very energizing.

Enjoying everyone's pinboards. Lots of style inspiration, much more vivid than words.

A friend is visiting Rome tomorrow, we'll do a whirl in some of the best boutiques along Via del Babuino? Buying nothing of course Wink. Will need to think about the outfit - something luxurious enough to evoke awe in salespeople, something easy and cool enough to be comfortable in the afternoon heat. This, Hasbeens and the red Dior bag (matchy-matchy on purpose)?

notyummy · 29/06/2012 21:14

Am also loving Episodes MrsCB! Well done on the weight loss dedication. I appear to have put on 4lbs Shock. Am madly hoping it is hormonal so we will wait 5/6 days before thinking about doing anything about it Not sure this is the time to be squeezing into my Zara buys ...Hmm

DH and I currently watching Up in the Air, which we never got round to seeing. Very good.

DonaAna · 29/06/2012 21:17

MrsCB, good for you! I was scoffing raw endive leaves earlier today and thought that they tasted like potato chips. Ate three endive bulbs.
Well, almost like potato chips.
As if...

blossoming · 29/06/2012 21:17

Did you all hear about Tom Kat divorcing Shock?

Decameron · 29/06/2012 21:28

Katie's free at last!

30 minutes into the movie and I want to kick all four characters. Ugh.

DonaAna, the outfit sounds fab.

MrsCampbellBlack · 29/06/2012 21:30

NY - the deaf dirty talk and the bj with the slipped implant - seriously I was on the floor laughing.

blossoming · 29/06/2012 21:33

DS came into our bedroom this morning excited about his school trip. How much money do you need I asked to which he replied, oh we're not allowed to take any money. Fine. So went to pick up dd from the cm at 4, and cm says, oh, had to lend your ds £2 for the trip because he told me you'd forgotten to give him his money Confused. Cue me frantically stripping the car to find any spare cash and finding the money somehow in coppers and fluff.
So, went to pick him up, and in the middle of crossing the road he says, mam I got you this... a shark's tooth necklace... for £1.99. Bless.

Quite how I'm going to avoid wearing it I don't know!

AmberNectarine · 29/06/2012 21:39

I think a shark tooth is quite Dramatic. Not very classic, mind. How white is it?

MrsCampbellBlack · 29/06/2012 21:41

Bloss you need to keep that in your very special place full of treasures that you won't lose - it can go next to my pasta necklace if you like?

But god how sweet - he spent all his money on you!!

notyummy · 29/06/2012 21:44

Aw that's lovely! Wear it around the house...

blossoming · 29/06/2012 21:46

It is like a small twig amber!
Seriously mrscb, very well done on the weight loss. Mine is at a standstill too ny. Wondering if a tummy tuck is the only way. Rest of me is solid. But then it said in the DM that we shouldn't be wearing bikinis over 39. Watch out for my VL on ebay...
rufus, and ollie, really had heart in my mouth reading your posts.

Lol at Amber asking how white the shark tooth is Grin. MrsCB, I take it you have many such items?

ShockShock at TomKat news - I love Katie Holmes and am tempted to think this may be a good thing.

Everything, when is the HoC event?

Hopefully, meant to say how very thoughtful and handsome your DH is - what an amazing surprise.

Looby, can't wait to hear your news.

blossoming · 29/06/2012 22:20

Lol @ amber. I hadn't seen that pickled..

Just had a quick peak at the DM en route to bed and saw the TomKat news. Sad. She always looked so serious/up tight after marrying him.

Ahhh Bloss your DS is just lovely. Treasure the necklace - from the safety of your jewellery box? Smile

My favourite school trip memory is me visiting Warwick Castle and buying a mars bar in the gift shop. My Mum had given me a pound in 10p's and the mars bar was 11p (god I am old). Told the lady I only had 10p as I didnt know you could pay with more than the amount and get change (inability with all things financial started at an early age then). The lovely lady sold it to me for 10pm anyway. Ive never forgotten that!

Speaking of Mum - parents arrive tomorrow teatime - right after DS1s party. I was literally 'Mum proofing' the house today in an attempt to head off any comments.

MidnightinMoscow · 29/06/2012 22:35

I knew you would like that top MrsCB. Well done on the weIght loss.

Bloss that is such a beautiful thing for DS to have done.

Am shocked about TomKat.

In bed, DH snoring away to my right, and DD making a racket to my left.

OllieinOrange · 29/06/2012 22:42

Re Episodes - I sort of know the sister of one the main actresses. She said Matt LeBlanc was brilliant to work with - very kind.

MarshaBrady · 29/06/2012 22:58

Swapped mini for floral skinnies and sans Bruno belt still in Kors heels. Bubbles on roof top. Good times!

Portia4 · 30/06/2012 07:42

Bloss how sweet of DS, that sort of thing shows what a lovely boy you've brought him up to be!

All those tales about DS's bolting are scary, girls seem to be more compliant. Rufus I can imagine where that incident happened with your DS, my heart was in my mouth reading your post.

I am sorry to read about TomKat. TC has always been DD1s crush, when she was small, she wanted me to ask our local video library for one of the huge posters that they had of him in the window! When I asked her where she would put it, she replied ' oh, on the front of the house!', DH was listening and asked if she'd prefer a picture of him to put up instead, to which she replied, 'Oh Daddy there's plenty of room for you on the back!' maybe you had to be there, but it was hilarious.

I haven't packed a thing, so off to start now, hope that you all have nice Saturdays. Marsha that sounds like a great evening.

Ollie Best of luck with the 'rents' as I have heard the Dcs refer to us!

MrsCampbellBlack · 30/06/2012 07:44

I have a major thing for Matt LeBlanc - and yes seventh you are right most of the humour is pretty subtle but some of it is just sooo funny. I too love Tamsin and love the fact she is still Debbie in The Archers. We watched a very odd film with Steven Mangan in the other night about the Edinburgh festival.

Not terribly surprised by TomKat but am surprised that people don't realise why very high profile male actors would choose to conceal the fact they're gay.
