New thread!

The fake tan is on (with requisite orange patches, naturally) and hair is done. I'm on countdown to Big Night Out, aware that will have to get ready whilst putting 2 DC to bed.

40bum lady is wearing my black suede Zara sandals today. I heartily recommend. She goes out a lot, doesn't she?! Envy. I have a wardrobe full of going out clothes but not enough occasions to wear them all!

bloss is right: coats and warm jackets are the way forward. I am stupid; I have 20 odd blazers and lightweight jackets perfect for May to September but only 1 jacket and 2 coats I like for September to April. Must rectify.

MrsCB re: blog, I'm a huge fan of rubberized leggings. I wear them with my good pieces (Marni coats for example) and I think they look good together.
Need to check out that Zara boucle jacket - need something that is not very structured but hate the sloppiness of cardigans. (Have many of them - but they usually don't look right.) I have an überstylish friend and she rocks the rubber / PVC legging look.

Emo no way are you a 14?! You're tall though, aren't you? You're so slim!

Icey I saw a couple of civilised looking panamas in H&M the other week if you're looking for a cheapo option.

Not sure about new haircut. Don't think she took it short enough. Grrr. I swear my hairdresser has lost her nerve - the last two cuts have been waaay more tame and classic than I've had previously or asked for. In fact I particularly asked her to go shorter, more angled and sharper this time. Think I may find a new (exeter-based, fingers crossed, please let us be there in 8 weeks) hairdresser.

notyummy · 27/06/2012 18:06

40 and 28 jeans here.

Great to hear from you Icey.

Carnage in the kitchen - just finished baking for school fair on Friday. In fact, tbh the whole house is a mess. Manic combination today of trying to work whilst DD entertained herself this afternoon and then rushing out leaving house untouched to see the torch means my abode looks considerably messier than usual. It's amazing how tidy you can keep it when no one is in!! Grin

blossoming · 27/06/2012 18:12

Thanks for including me dona, but I shall resist the florals. I'm HoC dramatic dontcha know. Zips please!

IceCreamCastles · 27/06/2012 18:14

Thanks mrscb and hopefully. I'll check them out.

Hi duriz. I'm 30 and wear size 28 jeans although they are a bit of a squeeze at the moment.

rufus101 · 27/06/2012 18:21

Quick wave!
Have been keeping up with you all but no time to post.
Welcome Duritz, all sizes/ages/budgets here. (42 and size 26) Didnt think we spanned 20 years though!
Bloss I adore that bag. If you are thinking of splurging on a bag, it is indeed a worthy splurge. A red bag lifts every outfit. (muses aloud. Why don't I have one?)
Love your posts Dona. Very entertaining.
Mim that woman from your play group! The nerve of her. I don't know how you restrained yourself. I'd have gone for the jugular. I love your food posts btw so keep them coming. Yourself and Bloss should collaborate on a blog. I've had great success with all your links.
Hi to Decam, great DVF dress. (I've more DVFs than any other brand and find that even the prints are long standing)
Will be back when I've more time!

AmberNectarine · 27/06/2012 18:27

Ooh am I the baby? 27 and 27 here.

Thanks for wardrobe compliment Dona, it's funny, seeing it there on pinterest has made me realise just how much of a 'uniform' I have! How great is green Gracie for making an outfit more interesting?

Lovely to hear from icey, glad the icicles are treating you well!

MrsCampbellBlack · 27/06/2012 18:51

Oooh dona - that's encouraging. I like the cosiness of cardigans and wear them a lot round the house (my version of the housecoat I guess) but know they can easily frumpify me.

I'm 39 (just) and 25 in jeans but only 5ft.

MIM I really can't tolerate toddler groups - they just seem to bring out the worst in people. And I know they bring out the passive/aggresive loud parent in me which is really not good. You see I'd have done 'oh darling lets leave the lady to have her special seat and we'll find one next to some nice people' Wink

AntPants1 · 27/06/2012 18:52

Lovely to see you icey glad all is going well.

EMO I am a 14!!!

always I give blood every 3 months. Does not hurt at all- and I am so not brave. I am always really pleased to raid the biscuit table afterwards. The blood service is really slick. They really have thought of everything. They will take through every step.

suburban · 27/06/2012 18:58

I think we might be joint babies Amber Wink when's your birthday? Mine's October.

Hi Duritz, I am no size 0 and hopelessly poor. I am whatever a pear shape with added stomach is.

I am off to catch up properly in a minute but I just have a quick question for Reine/always and any other Dentists. What do you think of laser teeth whitening. There is a Groupon deal for Cool Blue whitening in our area and being as DP is booked in to have it done at the dentist for roughly the price of an Alexa I am tempted for us both to get it done using this instead. Is it any good/bad for your teeth etc???

Oh and congratulations reine sounds like your business is really taking off and deservedly so, you are incredibly talented.

Off to read up now.

MarshaBrady · 27/06/2012 18:59

Hi Icey nice to see you!

MiM argh for you. I don't go. And haven't done any music blah with second as I did with first. It's so much better for me, hated it. Luckily the sr, parks, friends and nursery makes up for it and he's in different crowds quite a bit.

Bloss garden is a bit of a sun trap with huge trees that break the wind but very luckily don't block the light.

Duritzfan · 27/06/2012 19:21

He he Smile thanks for being so very welcoming ..
40 - a fortnight here and really not worried about it at all .. (( Duritzfan weeps and rocks ))

And size 30 jeans - am typical English pear Sad

Duritzfan · 27/06/2012 19:25

Smile I have indeed found my spiritual home here .. I just looked back up thread and saw my jumper linked to - the sequin Whistles one - it's Lush ! Dh doesn't like it at all .. Mind you he hates my ash genials too and I LOVE them ...

AmberNectarine · 27/06/2012 19:27

December, I win! Now, I don't want to see any lurkers coming out of the woodwork to snatch the title from me

mrsCB I would so have done that too. Did it today in fact when some bint pushed my DS in sainsbos - 'that lady's house must be burning down, if she's in such a rush she has to push a two year old'. Happily we reconvened at the checkout so I was able to spend the queuing time scowling at her. Snarky is my middle name.

DH back in a couple of hours. Hide the Harvey Nics bag and pretend I've been reading my driving theory book.

Anyone else's hay fever in full bloom? Combined with high humidity and 'time of the month' it is making me a complete delight tonight Hmm. DH retreated upstairs to do bedtime stories as I think it is more fun....

Looked out a summery outfit of daisy pattern skirt and fitted plain white Zara tee for tomorrow in the office - no external meetings so can dress down. On Sunday I am going to an airshow that will involve quite a bit of walking around, but also spending sometime in the aircrew hosting tent with a range of pilots (inc international display teams in their fitted uniforms - Frecce Tricolore always the best Wink and Red Arrows.) What's a girl to wear....?!

AmberNectarine · 27/06/2012 19:39

blue is in her thirties I believe

AmberNectarine · 27/06/2012 19:41

Ooh Londoners, it's going to be Hot and Sunny here tomoz! Must look out depilatory supplies.

Omg NY me too. It's just like boarding school Wink

I'm also very impressed your friend isn't letting out to tourists for a bomb. Good work!

Am reading out loud and posting quite hard.

MarshaBrady · 27/06/2012 19:45

Is it sunny my iPhone says rain. It doth lie.

suburban · 27/06/2012 19:47

Grin Amber Have caught up a bit better now.

MiM that is appalling. What a horrible woman. We have found some nice toddler groups here and made some lovely friends but also encountered lots of beserk people along the way. Most recently I was literally vetted at the door of one that was worried they had been attracting the wrong crowd and the leader asked me if I grew up in the area, where I went to school, if I went to University, if I was married and what my other half did for a living before I was allowed in.

Glad you enjoyed the torch NY I found it strangely emotional. Well worth taking DS to Seventh.

I have Baxters too Hopefully much more flattering than the sausagey Leighs.

Nice to hear from you icecreamcastles your DS sounds like such a cutie.

I had to go to Primark to get some of the star ballet shoes for my mum today, she has size 3 feet so no worries there and ended up with another pair of floral jeans reduced to £4. Smile

notyummy · 27/06/2012 19:47

No mud - all hard standing. Weather forecast is breezy, warm, with occasional showers. So that's bring everything kind of weather, no? Hmm

AmberNectarine · 27/06/2012 19:51

I got that info from my met office app. The iPhone is in disgrace is it informed me it would be sunny this afternoon and as a result I wore sandals and did not take a rain cover to toddler group. Scumbag.
