New thread!

The fake tan is on (with requisite orange patches, naturally) and hair is done. I'm on countdown to Big Night Out, aware that will have to get ready whilst putting 2 DC to bed.

40bum lady is wearing my black suede Zara sandals today. I heartily recommend. She goes out a lot, doesn't she?! Envy. I have a wardrobe full of going out clothes but not enough occasions to wear them all!

bloss is right: coats and warm jackets are the way forward. I am stupid; I have 20 odd blazers and lightweight jackets perfect for May to September but only 1 jacket and 2 coats I like for September to April. Must rectify.

Books news - just finished Me Before You by JoJo Moyles. Thought provoking read. Made me cry at the end.

MarshaBrady · 07/07/2012 20:57

Yes SE I completely thought of you when I saw this

I know I did two degrees. One of which included cinema studies, and I remember watching The Thing in the university cinema (although fell asleep very often for some reason, 5pm on a Wednesday). Also did economics luckily for a bit of rigour.

Ollie thanks not me I don't think? can you pm me if I am missing it thank you!

OllieinOrange · 07/07/2012 21:00

No you are fine Marsha.

MarshaBrady · 07/07/2012 21:05

Thanks Ollie. Smile

This is my one and only in use cook book. I love it as it's a present from my mother who uses it a lot / cooked in the same way through out childhood. Lots of butter, eggs and cream.

Hopefully · 07/07/2012 21:17

I am keeping fingers crossed for a good autumn selection too SE, although hopefully not to much gamine! Grin

Watching Tintin with DH, very clever animation.

pickledsiblings · 07/07/2012 21:20

Can you see mine Ollie?
Meant Party ideas, not Part ideas in previous post.

SE, love black too much to avoid Smile. You have had a busy day, bet you're pooped now.

Just shouted at DS2 for throwing DD's teddy bear down the loo. When I asked him if he'd done it, all he could say was...'not head first'. Cue bursting in to tears and telling me that I shout too loudly Blush. You'll all be pleased to hear that I apologised and am forgiven.

DonaAna · 07/07/2012 21:23

Marsha that cookbook is one of the very best. I used it for learning - have memorized the key things...

I've always feared my fitness mania will lead to unwanted side effects a.
Such as being hit by the bus on my way to the park where I jog.
Today, I slipped on a ripe fig.
Must be the slipperiest thing on earth.
Much worse than a banana peel.

Wanted go to the contemporary art museum with kids this afternoon but sidetracked us to a mall first - the nanny had told me that DD1 needs new shoes. Surprise, surprise: 1st day of summer sales. All of Rome was there. Have never seen the mall that congested (and it's always packed). Went to H&M: absolute pandemonium. Children started screaming. Panic purchases (including more Hello Kitty junk and jogging hot pants for me - don't ask).
No contemporary art.
Oh well.

PS Don't like your RL FB account to Pinterest - unless you want to disclose your real identity. I have a fake FB account Wink because FB bores me and all the boring people want to connect with me on FB .

OllieinOrange · 07/07/2012 21:24

Not your Pinterest is fine Pickled Didnt mean to panic anyone but thought I should mention it.

Ahhhh to DS Pickled. As if not putting him headfirst made it ok! Bless.

CHOOGIRL · 07/07/2012 21:25

Ollie I read that on holiday and was crying on my sunbed. Not a great look.
I have Queen Delia to thank for my (limited) cooking skills. Have all the usual suspects on my self (Jamie, Leon, Nigella) Dona you will also be impressed that I have a copy of The Silver Spoon (in English and Italian)

DonaAna · 07/07/2012 21:27

Choo I am impressed!

MarshaBrady · 07/07/2012 21:30

Dona so pleased someone likes it on here too! Grin. I must use it again, you have inspired me. It's so delicate and strong, love it.

I did a fake twitter account that is now languishing. No fb here either (rejoice!)

Yes yes choo hurrah for Delia - Complete Cookery Course never fails me.

Can't be arsed to read "50 shades" it doesn't sound hardcore enough for my tastes Grin

another vote for black here, in fact i am considering ONLY buying black things for a while.

pickles how sweet is your DS (and you!)

pickledsiblings · 07/07/2012 21:45

let's face it if emo can look amazing in an orange jumpsuit black is clearly not going to be a problem.

dona do you have a current blog.I love your musings.I shudder at the thought of my outfit choices when I'm taking out the bins!

DonaAna · 07/07/2012 21:57

I read the opening chapter of 50 shades
My life is too short for bad prose this includes you Stieg Larsson
But then again - I also fell asleep reading Belle du Jour Hmm
Maybe I'm just lacking the gene for S&M
but I love The Secretary with Maggie Gyllenhaal and The Piano Teacher with Isabelle Huppert

Marsha Pouding alsacien is one of my winter faves. The real beauty of Julia Child is that she teaches you to cook a sublime omelette or steak au poivre (ie indispensable life skills).

ReineDeSaba · 07/07/2012 21:58

very happy I can translate se's German,I'm practically bilingual Hmm
