New thread!

The fake tan is on (with requisite orange patches, naturally) and hair is done. I'm on countdown to Big Night Out, aware that will have to get ready whilst putting 2 DC to bed.

40bum lady is wearing my black suede Zara sandals today. I heartily recommend. She goes out a lot, doesn't she?! Envy. I have a wardrobe full of going out clothes but not enough occasions to wear them all!

bloss is right: coats and warm jackets are the way forward. I am stupid; I have 20 odd blazers and lightweight jackets perfect for May to September but only 1 jacket and 2 coats I like for September to April. Must rectify.

Something about a good fart?

Decameron · 07/07/2012 22:02

Have a great time, Fritzi.

Ugh, you are welcome to my freckles, Reine. Thankfully my DDs have not inherited them. Though I suppose they are sun damage. Looking forward to your tutorial.

Pickled, I love the way your DS got out of that!

I will get that book, Ollie, looking for a new one.

I have The Silver Spoon, amongst many other recipe books. Also did a few Cordon Bleu short courses and have a treasured notebook from my mum with little notes and recipes that she wrote for me when she was dying.

I need a black top, I was looking for one to wear last night but had nothing, haven't bought a black top in ages. I like this Vince top.

MrsCampbellBlack · 07/07/2012 22:04

Dona I am so with you on both 50shades and Stieg. Listened to interesting feature on weekend woman's hour earlier about 50shades but one of the commentators made the valid point about how much awful crime fiction is out there which features rape/child abuse - something I just loathe to read about. But gets off high horse now.

DH completed La Marmotte - and is very pleased with himself. I'm hoping he'll now relax a bit but he's already talking about next year's challenge.

DonaAna · 07/07/2012 22:05

Reine sorry I don't... (but I know where you found your nickname Wink)
Emo I'm totally in awe when someone can handle orange - particularly 1970s waiting room plastic chair orange: The. Most. Difficult. Shade. Ever.
Looks great on you! Envy

MrsCampbellBlack · 07/07/2012 22:06

I too have loads of cookery books although low carbing is rendering them slightly redundant.

MarshaBrady · 07/07/2012 22:06

Reine I love freckles will check out your board Grin

Have fun Fritzi!

Hi Florence nice to see you join on there.

SE are you on pinterst? I put this on thought of you. Well hopefully it is gamine.

Pickled mint skinnies on there for you.

Ah Dona I have omelette every morning, I must check how to do it properly!

Bloss I am sort of watching TDWP right now, how funny. She looks good in black Chanel in the 'reveal'.

Secretary is ace, as MG looks good in that.

Decam, take good care of your treasured notebook, won't you Sad

blossoming · 07/07/2012 22:12

I am digging deep marsha! Certain films have inspired me. That was one. But the fringe was the clincher!
decam, I did a kind of hybrid course with no literature! Just language, politics, law and economics. Had such a bad time with French literature at A level. But I always feel lost on here when the English grads start talking literature. Hate being out of any loop!
Thanks pickled: the 6th formers aced it. Some have been inspired to become teachers.

Size 10, L or XL in Zara.
It's a crapshoot really.
Real humans are not their core target customer segment.

MarshaBrady · 07/07/2012 22:22

Ooh Bloss we watched Breathless in that university cinema as well . She is divine. I also did short hair (blonde), drank espressos and smoked for a bit. God I loved that youthful, reckless, moody, indulgent period so much.

I'm digging deep too, dh is playing the guitar in his corner and I am doing fashion in mine.

pickledsiblings · 07/07/2012 22:22

Bloss, just pinned these for you. They are d-i-v-i-n-e !!

Sorry SE, not sure about Zara Jackets.

MarshaBrady · 07/07/2012 22:23

That makes me happy SE glad you like it!

MrsCampbellBlack · 07/07/2012 22:25

SE I can be an xs throught to a l in zara jackets [helpful]

blossoming · 07/07/2012 22:29

That is so poignant decam

MarshaBrady · 07/07/2012 22:31

Oh Decam a little squeeze. I feel the same way about food and the recipe book and my family. xx

florenceuk · 07/07/2012 22:36

(waves from sidelines in sheep-like manner) - was somebody after this ?

SE- I would say large. I am usually a M in Zara jackets and shirts (small in knits and tops Hmm) As you actually have boobs rather than my A/AA cups I think you might need to go up one.

I am resisting 50 Shades. Have a big enough pile of books to get through. Currently reading Matterhorn set in Vietnam war. Very good. Although blokey.

AmberNectarine · 07/07/2012 23:03

Ooh yes, James Spader in Secretary. DH and I like that film, as I was his secretary once upon a time. Wasn't quite that kinky.

Have moved on to 50 shades darker now. Yes, it's shit writing but I'm quite interested in where it's going. Sadly seems to be getting more vanilla.

red did your friend have her baby yet?

blue glad to hear I'm not the only one! No need to blush, we've all got children Wink Bitterly jealous of anyone with the legs for lace shorts!

Yep, no sympathy for Dona and her hot weather woes. Am willing to do a Rome/Wimbledon exchange?

Sounds like such a lovely day SE

Russianred · 08/07/2012 07:19

Morning all. Hungover solitude in bed, although really must get up and get involved. Friend staying and lovely boozy night had.

Friend had a lovely boy on Friday night - EMCS as seems to be the trend amongst all my friends...

50 shades is appallingly written. Didn't stop me reading the trilogy though, in desperate search of a plot. Nigel's Kitchen Diaries is my go to cookery book. Love it.

Ollie LOVE the COS jumper. Gorgeous.

Better get up.

MidnightinMoscow · 08/07/2012 07:21

Oh, I love that outfit that Marsha linked for SE, very chic. I recognise where it was taken too, Westminster Bridge I think.

Emo, I laughed at your 50shades not hardcore enough comment! Thats exactly what I've been telling people in RL, strictly extreme BDSM here please - nothing else touches the sides these days. Grin

Ollie, I am confused about the pinterest thing. Does that mean people can link to the face book page I have it linked to?

Decam you don't have a link to the Vince top, let me see!

Right, big news here. I am the proud owner of my first car. DH picked it up yesterday. Went with an automatic in the end. Its a good little car, low milage etc. I winced at the insurance price though.

Now, can you all tell me that the first time you started driving after you test you were totally petrified but actually it was fine?

MidnightinMoscow · 08/07/2012 07:23

Morning Red, hope you don't feel too bad this morning. Lots of EMCS here too, and funnily enough mostly nurses and midwifes, so potentially very prepared/informed for birth etc. Wonderful news though!
