New thread!

The fake tan is on (with requisite orange patches, naturally) and hair is done. I'm on countdown to Big Night Out, aware that will have to get ready whilst putting 2 DC to bed.

40bum lady is wearing my black suede Zara sandals today. I heartily recommend. She goes out a lot, doesn't she?! Envy. I have a wardrobe full of going out clothes but not enough occasions to wear them all!

bloss is right: coats and warm jackets are the way forward. I am stupid; I have 20 odd blazers and lightweight jackets perfect for May to September but only 1 jacket and 2 coats I like for September to April. Must rectify.

Fitflop.

Decam, Happy Anniversary, hope you and DH manage to get some time together and that you get the chance to wear some of your lovely dressy clothes. We'll be married 13 years inAugust. What is Whole Foods btw - is it a health food store?

Everything, isn't your friend radient? She looks so relaxed, happy and gorgeous - thanks for sharing.

Bloss, pat on the back for soldiering on Smile. Roll on EofT.

MarshaBrady · 03/07/2012 10:09

Happy anniversary Decam!

Lovely shots SE

I used to really like Bread & Circus. Might be the same thing now.

Rather dull weather today. Am wearing Bruno deep red skinnies and tangerine t for some brightness.

blue that's really rubbish! Would definitely expect shoes to last longer than 5 months
dcameron happy anniversary!! Yes you were right re CG
Had a very upsetting experience with entire black ink pen leaking over oak mulberry!!! Any ideas how to get ink out??? Am working away with a baby wipe after mad dash to leather shop and mulberry who both told me it was fairly unfixable!!! Thankfully am not a lady who travels with only with one handbag.....but any ideas v v welcome! Apart from not to carry pens in bag....

DonaAna · 03/07/2012 11:09

Enjoying the Marant dress. Decided to keep it, love that it can be worn 2 ways for a different look.
Chicken tray bake in the oven.
If I get to my work goals today, I get to go window shopping.
Love Marsha's colorful outfit.

DonaAna · 03/07/2012 11:13

Always I've had two favorite bags ruined by children (biro ink, leaky milk bottle -> a huge, very visible grease stain). Could not get the ink out. If all else fails, is there a way to dye the bag black?

Hopefully · 03/07/2012 11:13

Anyone, am I right in thinking hush sizing is quite generous?

FritziGreenEyes · 03/07/2012 11:30

pickled Thanks for the PM. Lovely name!

bloss Hope you feel better soon.

hopefully Hush sizing def comes up big. Would size down.

dona Which size did you get in the Marant? Think we might be similar shape. Have it still on top of my wish list and am soooo tempted to click order.

Hopefully · 03/07/2012 11:46

Thanks Fritzi. Have ordered a few bits in the sale. There is hope for me not looking like a homeless lady every evening...

Massive transfer has just come through from savings account to pay HoC fees and hypothetical deposit on hypothetical new house (which we wil never find). The temptation to go and shop instead...

DonaAna · 03/07/2012 11:55

Fritzi my Marant is 38. 36 would be ample! Normally wear US 6 Eur 38 UK 10 IT 44.

The material is thinner and flimsier than in the pic, slightly transparent. It's like a XXXL men's shirt with ribbons in the side seams that can be tied back or to the front. Very cleverly designed. If dropped waist 1920s jazz girl charleston dresses suit you and billowing material in the waist area doesn't bother you, the silhouette might be right for you. Very comfy to wear, but be warned, voluminous. Matches has free international shipping with the code Free06 unless you find a bargain elsewhere!

My-W seem to have upped their game a fraction for this A/W - liking quite a few bits from there: equipment sweater (really like this, it would brighten up my wardrobe no end), Vanessa Bruno chunky knit, a shawl cardigan, gold 7 jeans (I want them and I want them now Grin), a dress that would suit many of the women on this thread but not me, Joseph leather leg gins which I really want (curse you Mominatrix for making me want leather trousers so badly!) and the engagement dress in a nice colour.

Hopefully · 03/07/2012 11:56

leg gins. Interesting.

rufus101 · 03/07/2012 12:49

Are these the same as your J Brand? Bloss. Great bargain if they are! (expects stampede) I would be ordering, but as I'm on hols tomorrow, won't be around to accept delivery. I have a code for free delivery from MW if anyone wants to pm me. It's so non-specific, I think it would work for everyone who uses it!
Hopefully Grin at the leg gins! That dress is lush.
I am loving these silver Acne shoes I want to find a lookalikey though. I'm sure Toppers will do something similar. I also want to find another pair of leopard print heels. Last years from TS were lovely and are in perfect nick, but they aren't very comfortable. Bizarrely, no matter what I wore them with, they looked great. Even if they clashed! I wore them with a plaid dress, and they just looked cool. People used to stop me to ask me where I got them!
Am nerviously drumming fingers here, as DS is waxing and waning. The others DD and DS1 are being very solictous, as they are terrified he won't be better and the holiday will be off! They are waiting on him hand and foot, adjusting his spider man blanket, bringing him treats, letting him watch Balamory (sp?) on tv! Hilarious. I think he might be getting a taste for the sick role. Always dangerous!

What a bargain, I could have got an extra few pairs (one on, one in the wash, one in case...Wink) but no sizes left rufus.
DH has made be a baked potato for lunch. I will then be doing a session on pets followed by part 2 of a film with yr 12. Can't remember why I agreed to this...

notyummy · 03/07/2012 13:31

Just got this in Oxford St. V nice on. Only large left but v stretchy so I think would work for anyone from a large 10 to a small 14. Really pleased with it. Still awaiting all my delivery stuff as well of course. Got another organic cotton top. Very pleased with the one I got a month or so ago. So soft. Now only £9!

notyummy · 03/07/2012 13:31

Hope the poxy children are better.

Decameron · 03/07/2012 13:37

Thanks for the anniversary wishes. Dh will be working! Bought Stuart Weitzman ballet shoes on sale and spent a fortune in Wholefoods. I loved the 50/50s!

Argh about the bag, Always!

Yes please to MW code, Rufus.
Hope DS gets better soon.

Bloss what size leggings do I need? :)

Decameron · 03/07/2012 13:51

Lovely skirt, NY.
Those leather leggings are fab and so are the silver shoes, Rufus.
I ordered the 29s as that is all that was left.
I know what you mean about the fitflops but when I had pregnancy cankles last summer, they fit the bill!

DonaAna · 03/07/2012 13:54

Hopefully love the MK cardigan, gold 7 jeans, Issa dress. Timeless staples that will look good forever and can be combined in many ways.
Rufus your son certainly knows how to be sick with panache. Hope you all get to enjoy your vacations.
Day three of self-imposed shopping ban. Must have a masochistic Puritan streak, still recovering from alcohol-free June Grin

Just did some mental mathematics and realized that a navy Chanel jumbo 2.55 = red python Dior + blue python Dior + green Anya + purple Lily + some spare change Shock I had promised myself a navy 2.55, but as I'm the magpie / non-minmalist type, it clearly makes more sense to go for the rainbow alternative (will get an extra bonus at the end of this month and have already "invested" it). If you share the line of reasoning, please listen to this very funny Nora Ephron interview from 2006.

I am 90% sure that I would look this cool if I wore gold jeans. Actually, you know what, I really want some! Have just been googling images and can imagine them with loose fit shirt and blazer or aforementioned MK drapey cardigan. Curses, I have convinced myself! Off to stalk eBay now SE...

In other news, I have just remembered a pair of 7FAM jeans that I charity shopped when DS1 was born, deciding that I would never fit them again. They would fit perfectly now. Grrr.

DS2 has been asleep for almost 3 hours Shock. This never happens. Foolishly, I left half my clothes for tomorrow in his room, so can't actually pack or anything useful like that...
