I am probably risking a flaming for admitting to buying fake replica bags but i do so shoot me ;) Blush

i have hopefully this beauty [Link deleted by Mumsnet]

if anyone else is willing to admit it too, have you used this site? are they genuine?

i paid by western union as you can't pay directly through the website. this seems to be the case with most replica handbag sites but the one i usually order from you can pay via the website. i didn't use my usual one as they don't stock "chanel"

but i made the payment about 10am this morning and haven't heard anything from them yet Confused so am now panicking....although haven't yet received confirmation from western union that the money has been collected.

I saw a woman carrying a fake Kelly bag on the tube this morning. The exterior looked authentic enough. But she had it open & I could see the lining was creme calico. It looked so cheap! She was not stylish at all - very sad. Honestly, if you're going to carry a fake bag, make it one which could be vaguely believable given the way present yourself. Only very well turned out middle aged women (and their daughters) carry a Kelly. Not me BTW.

There are so many reasons not to buy counterfeits. Its illegal and the people who make them are employed in terrible conditions.

But how shallow and vain do you have to be to want to carry a branded item so badly, having been persuaded to do so by nothing more than marketing and glossy pictures in a magazine, that you no longer care about the treatment of other human beings.

ouryve · 03/07/2012 22:22

Now, having seen this thread, I'm slightly tempted to buy one of these. Or I would be if it was offered in magenta.

BlackSwan wow, i am actully sad for you, you even notice the lining inside? i can't beleive it, next time better for you to take a book or newspaper to read on the tube rather than stare inside people bags, shame Sad

worldgonecrazy · 04/07/2012 08:10

I suspect blackswan related that story because it shows that people who carry fakes thinking they can pass them off/will look like the real thing, are kidding themselves. And I hoik up my judgey pants when I see someone carrying a fake because I am educated about what kinds of businesses are being supported by the trade in fake bags.

If someone wants to buy a bag from Morocco, why not just buy one made by a local artisan, why does it have to be a fake of a luxury brand? What's wrong with just having a nice, stylish bag that isn't illegal?

There are lots of gorgeous bags which aren't fake, which are made by companies that treat their people well. Why buy a fake when you can buy something else? That's what I really fail to understand.

worldgonecrazy · 04/07/2012 08:17

ouryve why did you have to post that link? Those bags are fabulous and I want every single one. Shame we have some holidays and expensive treats coming up otherwise I'd be hitting the plastic.

Quite :(

I'm so saddened by this thread.

This isn't like shopping in Primark for something inspired by the real thing this is out and out aiding theft of intellectual property, evading customs duties (robbing the exchequer - yes tax evasion hurts every UK citizen) not to mention lining the pockets of criminal gangs.

But OP and others pouring over there fakes, you stroke these bags and dream of being someone you're not and I'll stick to buying nice bags every 5 years or so in installments from my local department store.

ExitPursuedByABear · 04/07/2012 09:08

So how much was it? I am late to this thread as I am a stranger to S&B, and the link has gone.

valiumredhead · 04/07/2012 09:09

From what I've read about Primark, it's exactly like shopping there!

MonaLotte · 04/07/2012 09:10

About £200 I think

AmberNectarine · 04/07/2012 09:11

exit - OP says she paid $210 for it!

MrsBovary · 04/07/2012 09:47

As I said keepyer, it's not just about the OP pretending it's the real thing, although she's not likely to be able to pass it off as real, from the little I saw of the site before the link was removed.

It is issues surrounding the counterfeit goods industry, where her money is going, what it is funding, and so on. Also the OP's careless attitude (although I cannot fairly comment on this as she has declined to comment on concerns raised).

MrsBovary · 04/07/2012 09:48

I think you can buy a genuine, decent quality bag, for $210.
