Rosehip seed oil - it's fab!

FreakoidOrganisoid · 20/06/2012 13:07

Morning- face washed with facial wash then moisturised with moisturiser containing spf. Then make up.

Evening- cream cleanser removed with hot flannel

AlphaH liquid gold twice a week, moisturiser the rest of the time. Evening routine is done as soon as dc are in bed (i shower and put pjs on then) rather than right before bed. I seem to get fewer spots this way.

I love the orange clarins products but can only afford them once a year when i get birthday money. The rest of the time its whatver is on offer!

Boots time delay is a good moisturiser for me, my skin seems to like it.

QuinnFabray · 20/06/2012 14:12

In the morning I wash my face with either Clinique cleanser for oily skin, or Cetaphil, depending on how my skin is feeling.
Then I use either La Roche Posay astringent toner or soothing toner, depending on how my skin is feeling. ( I have oily clogged skin, but also sensitive and ageing, so have to balance between products for oily skin, and sensitive products ).

Am currently trying out a new product called Astalift jelly, which is made my fuji film and is supposed to be the next big thing. Not sure if I will continue once my 15ml pot has gone. Too early to see a difference yet.

Then I occasionally use Clinique dramatically difference moisturising gel, but usually skip moisturiser in the morning and just put spf primer on, then make up.

In the evening, I clean off my make up with a cream cleanser and flannel or muslin. I'm not fussy. Currently using Clarins extra gentle cream cleanser, but have tried lots from different brands, some cheap like superdrug, some expensive. Once the make up is off, I cleanse again with the same cream. Double cleansing makes a big difference to my skin. Then I tone again with a La Roche Posay toner. Then twice a week I put on some retin-a cream, followed by Clarins lotus facial oil. When not using retin-a, I just use the facial oil. Oh, I'm putting on astalift jelly every night too at the moment ( when not using retin-a ).

Blimey, that was long! I'm 37 by the way, oily blackhead skin, gets too dry if I use too many harsh products. Sensitive. Beginning to get lines and wrinkles.

I've learnt over the years not to swap and change products all the time, so this is what I'm sticking at for now. Oh, I use an eye cream at night too, forgot that. Not found one I love yet, although I think I'd repurchase the Kheil's avocado one.

MadgesRightNip · 20/06/2012 15:08

Morning:

  • Splash face with cold water and pat dry. I don't use a cleanser in the morning. - Massage in Monu collagen cream
  • If my eyes feel dry, I pat in a bit of Origins eye serum
  • Once cream has sunk in, I put on a layer of either Dermalogica SP15, or if its really warm and sunny Clinique SPF 30 facial sunscreen

Night:

  • Take off my make up with fragrance free baby wipes first, then use Eve Lom cleanser & a hot cloth
  • Massage face with (don't laugh) Lulu's Youth Juice facial oil (lovely lovely stuff) - Pat in a bit of Clinique Moisture Surge eye cream under my eyes.

Once a week I use a Clinique facial scrub and Simple face mask in the bath. I have a facial 3 x a year (would love it monthly but cant afford). Guinot facials are wonderful if you can find a salon nearby that stocks their products.

I shower every morning, but I make sure I have a long soak in a bath with either E45 bath cream or baby oil or Bio Oil at least once a week. Keeps skin nice and smooth.

justtryingtodomybest · 20/06/2012 17:20

I use nSpa products. In the morning I use the Melting Gel Cleanser and work it in with my Clarisonic.
I then use their toner followed by the nSpa Illuminating Serum and the Day Moisturiser.

At night, I use Lush UltraBland to cleanse followed by nSpa's night cream.

Once or twice a week, I exfoliate with either Benefit or nSpa's face scrub. I also use a face mask every now and again - probably not as often as I should.

Labootin · 20/06/2012 17:29

Wash face in the shower with whatever facial wash was on offer/ had nice packaging
Slap on a bit of moisturiser ( currently an oil free no shine one as it's 40 degrees and humid)
sunscreen (currently no7 no dark spot SPF 30)

At night I use a baby wipe or a spray of water ( too hot for makeup )

Bucharest · 20/06/2012 17:41

Oooh,I love these threads!

Morning: splash with cold water/Gatineau serum (won'tbuy again,it was a sample,no better than P and P. Have run out of Decleor oil,but just ordered some Iris, so that usually as well. Decleor hydratenseur eye cream (again, nothing special, was in gift set, won'tbuy again) Decleor hydraflower moisturiser.Makeup. (Dior forever foundation at mo)

Nightime

Liquid Gold every other night (though have ordered the 30% GA to join the sizzlers) More eye cream, cleanse with Elemis at the mo,but prefer Liz Earle.I half-heartedly started OCM but can never be faffed to mix my castor oil and what have you.

When my current moisturiser is finished I'm going back to Neal'sYard Frankincense which is the holy grail for me.

On look out for holy grail eye cream and serum if anyone has found it!

DonaAna · 20/06/2012 17:45

Valium, out of curiosity, what do you do with rosehip oil?
I happen to have some, use it very occasionally to moisturize my legs.

Trish1200 · 20/06/2012 23:26

I should have also asked your ages if you don't mind saying it. I'm 34.

Mornings - Liz Earle cleanse & polish - use with clarisonic , rinse with water, moisturize with Neals yard rose facial oil and Liz Earle daycream.

Evenings - same again but use hot cloth to remove cleanser and use same moisturizers again.

47 and generally good skin.

EllenParsons · 21/06/2012 00:38

Morning:

Clinique facial soap (usually the oily skin one, but sometimes the mild)
Every few days a scrub of some kind - currently have Champneys radiant one, a No 7 one and St Ives on rotation
Clinique clarifying lotion 3
Clinique dramatically different moisturising gel
Clinique moisture surge
An eye serum of some sort, currently Clinique all about eyes serum but also sometimes Body Shop vitamin C or various types
No 7 protect and perfect lip care

Evening:
Clinique Take The Day off eye makeup remover
Clinique wash away gel cleanser or the foaming facial cleanser to get make up off
Clinique facial soap
Clarifying lotion 3
Estee Lauder night repair serum (since I won it in the mumsnet competition - thanks for that!)
Clinique All About Eyes cream
No 7 protect and perfect lipcare
Trying some different moisturisers as night creams, currently using Nivea Q10

Seems a lot but only takes a few mins

ComradeJing · 21/06/2012 02:10

I'm mid - late 20s and have combination skin.

Morning:
Liz Earle C&P
(sometimes) Liz Earle toner (but not sure if I'll continue with this)
La Mer Radiance Serum
La Mer Gel Cream
La Mer Eye cream
La Mer SPF lotion - so happy with this stuff. Doesn't block pores and works as a primer.

Night:
Liz Earle C&P
LE toner (sometimes)
Clarins lotus oil.

I've only been doing this for a few weeks now and apart form a few spots to start my skin is looking better than ever.

Trish1200 · 21/06/2012 15:20

Hi comeradejing, I've always been curious about the la mer products but have never bought them because if the price tag. Are they really good? Did you notice much difference on your skin?

OP posts:
ForwardOcho · 21/06/2012 15:32

Morning
Soap & Glory pink minty smelling stuff in shower
Clinique toner but just until I finish the bottle as have discovered Glycolic Aciiiid
Bravura hyaluronic acid serum
Dermalogica Pure Light spf

Evening
Liz Earle C&P
More Bravura serum
2 x per week - Paula's Choice 10% GA left on overnight
When not summer (hahahaha - where is the sun? I could be doing 30% GA peels and not bother with spf right now) Bravura 15% GA night cream

I am very old and have oily skin with huge pores which I have just noticed recently

Ryoko · 21/06/2012 15:40

In the morning
Slap some water on face, then rub in olive oil, soak a cloth in hot water rest it on my face and then wipe off the oil, slap some rescue oil on my face.

Cover myself in almond oil from the neck down, put cream on my feet (at the moment some stuff called CCS).

At night
slap some almond oil on my feet and hands.

Trish, the few lines I had on my forehead seem to have gone. My skin looks smoother and more rested. TBH, apart from a few rapidly fading sun spots and old spot marks (as I said, both fading) my skin is looking better than ever.

At this stage I'd buy it again but as I'm pg at the moment - so skin is bonkers hormonal - I'll see how I go.

notjustamummythankyou · 21/06/2012 17:42

Morning: quick wash with cleansing gel while in shower. Quite like sanctuary spa from boots, but currently using Nivea. Follow with an spf15 moisturiser, currently Nivea q10 (got two for £12 in boots last week - bargainous)

Evening: cleansing wipes if worn make up during day, otherwise just a splash of water and sometimes (only sometimes) a night cream.

Am 41, goodish skin, rarely have spots, hate the sun. Looking at other posts perhaps I should be doing more, but I tend to forget / am too rushed / can't be bothered. :o

LuvileeJubilee · 21/06/2012 19:32

Shu Uemura cleansing beauty oil
Shu Uemura toner 'moisturising lotion' (it's a toner, honest, has hyaluronic acid and exfoliants and feels/smells lush)
Need a decent moisturiser, currently using Boots Beautiful Skin for dry/very dry but not impressed. blew budget on nice SU bits

At night - I need a good cheap makeup remover, then Shu Uemura again but followed by Neal's Yard Rose Facial Oil instead of moisturiser.

Couple of times a week I use Nivea thick cream overnight on top of the Rose oil, and use Nutrogena Pink Grapefruit scrub or similar sloughy scrub in the shower.

InMySpareTime · 21/06/2012 19:44

What a lot of products!
I wet my face when I have a bath. Water seems sufficient to remove daily detritus from my face.
What is all the other stuff for anyway?
I'm 33 and female.

InMySpareTime · 21/06/2012 19:47

I put suncream on if I'm putting some on the DCs, does that count?
I have very few spots, and my skin looks pretty good if I do say so myself perhaps because I don't spend all day slapping lotions and potions on it, then using more products to get them all off againConfused.

KateSpade · 21/06/2012 19:51

Oh I love these type of threads Grin marking my place to come back later!

IslaValargeone · 21/06/2012 19:56

Morning: Wash off last night's make up with Boots cucumber face wash
Apply whatever moisturiser was on offer in Boots under £10
Put on make up
Evening: Takes out contact lenses and flops into bed
{blush}
I am working on improving my current regime.
