Morning. Currently wash with neutrogena pink grapefruit facial wash in the shower. Apply mixture of dr nick lowe spf15 moisturiser and bobby brown vitamin e primer (sensitive combination skin gets shiny without primer, dries out and gets flaky without moisturiser Sad trying to find right combination but haven't quite nailed it yet...)

Evening. Wash face with vichy normaderm facial wash (only just started using this but LOVE it, doesn't dry out my skin and enlarged pores looking better) followed by dr nick lowe night cream.

Brandnewbrighttomorrow · 21/06/2012 21:34

Oh, and i'm 40

Mum2Fergus · 21/06/2012 21:52

Erm ... morning-baby wipe once baby bum is done (not same wipe obviously!) ... evening-baby wipe once baby bum done and pjs on Blush female, 44 and knackered.

plus3 · 21/06/2012 21:56

Another Liz Earle fan - use C&P every other day (when I wash my hair), the toner every morning, followed by moisturiser.

Once or twice a week I use the no7 perfect & protect night cream.

Many people have told me how fab my skin is looking just recently! Grin

mosschops30 · 21/06/2012 21:56

Morning:
Liz Earle C&P
Liz Earle Toner
Neals Yard Rose Facial Oil
Liz Earle moisturiser

Evening:
Liz Earle C&P
Liz Earle Toner
Neals Yard Rose Facial Oil
Decleor Eye Gel

FabMum1 · 21/06/2012 22:13

At the mo this is my routine, but always on the lookout for something else. If anyone can recommend a good moisturising face pack I'd be v.happy.

Morning
Cleanse with Vit E face wash
Toner (sometimes)
Decleor face oil
Eye cream
Decleor moisturiser

Night
Pretty much same as above but sometimes will just cleanse and then use a different facial oil

KateSpade · 21/06/2012 22:14

Mum2Fergus I love you a little bit. :)

smugmumofboys · 21/06/2012 22:19

I'm 43.

I use Liz Earle C&P, toner and moisturiser in the morning. I use MAC 50 spf primer under foundation for work but Clinique City Block spf 40 for the weekend.

Evening, Liz Earle as morning but use a lovely rose face oil instead of moisturiser made by a friend who has her own organic line.

notjustamummythankyou · 21/06/2012 22:31

mum2fergus - brilliant! :o

ComradeJing · 22/06/2012 01:26

Those who just use water... do you also just use water to wash your hands, hair, body or dishes?

Maybe it's because it's so polluted here but there is no way my face would be clean if I just used water.

laptopwieldingharpy · 22/06/2012 02:10

Just been botoxed (frown lines) the (very famous) dermatlogist recommends a minimal routine.
Thought i should share as it is so simple.
Cleanse morning and nigh with something like this it removes all dirt, tones and moisturizes in one swipe.
Then high quality zinc oxide sunscreen in the morning/high concentration (1%) anti-oxydant cream in the evening.
End of!
The most potent anti-oxidant at the moment is the coffee berry, which works wonders on redness and sensitivity or vitamin c for skins that are oilier.
4 days on, skin is clear, soft, redness gone, pores tighter.
3 expensive products, but the morning and evening creams last a good six months.

InMySpareTime · 22/06/2012 06:15

Comrade I just use water to clean all my skin, I use own brand shampoo to get the grease off my hair, I only use washing up liquid when dishes need grease or stuck on food removing.
As I don't leave food on my face long enough for it to stick, so water is plenty thanks.
I don't wear make up, which makes my skin easier to clean, perhaps that's the difference?

Bucharest · 22/06/2012 06:46

Oooh Mosschops I've been looking for you (in non mad stalkery way) I saw you raving about the NY oil v th decleor a while back.....are you still impressed with the NY?

Does anyone have a holy grail eye cream? Am 46 so although I don't do sun and am told I look 34 Grin the fine lines are there....

InMySpareTime · 22/06/2012 07:00

I do antibac my hands, but I work in a day nursery so I really need to. I have been known to use swarfega to get bike grease off my skin.

QuinnFabray · 22/06/2012 07:50

I spent years using only water, and occasionally the standard oil of olay mosituriser. Never wore make up either.

Then I got to my mid-thirties and realised I looked shit and couldn't rely on my youth anymore. I have oily congested skin and used to carry a hanky around in my pocket to wipe my face throughout the day ( yuk ). I also have a lot of broken capilleries, so make up makes me look less scarey.

Now I have a routine, and really take care of my skin, I look and feel a lot better. Those of you who only use water and still look great, you're lucky. A lot of it is down to genes.

With my oily skin full of blackheads and spots, it's really just a question of cleanse, cleanse and cleanse again - hence, I cleanse the make up off, I cleanse my make up free face, and then I use toner to get rid of any trace of cream cleanser.

I do think eye cream is probably a load of bollocks though.

MaloryMad · 22/06/2012 09:16

Great timing! I have a few questions to ask about skincare as I'm looking to make some changes and reading your routines has been really interesting.

Morning :

Alpha H Balancing Cleanser
Moisturiser - one from M&S for sensitive skin that cost £3.50 and used to be great for my skin but now I need something a little more heavyweight.
Alpha H eye gel OR Gatineau Defi Lift 3D

Evening

M&S Formula Gentle Cleansing Lotion also £3.50.. to remove most make up, followed by
Alpha H Balancing Cleanser
Liquid Gold when I remember Blush
Lancome Génifique Yeux eye cream - absolute rubbish and not worth the price IMO
When I'm rich - Gatineau Melatogenine Eye Cream - a stellar product for me but £££

I'm 50, so needing heavy duty products now. I've always had good skin (a bit shiny but that oiliness has kept me wrinkle- and dark spot-free until about 5 years ago). The last few years I'm definitely noticing signs of aging - a few fine lines around eyes, enlarged pores and a few dark/sun spot patches. It's not fun!

Can I ask what specific retin-a products you recommend? I need to start using one.

ComradeJing · 22/06/2012 11:37

Sorry Blush I wasn't suggesting anyone who just used water had a dirty face.

My skin is combination but that really just means oily t-zone but "normal" cheeks. I get spots if I'm not very strict about cleansing my face like Quinn.

I think not wearing make up has a huge part to play. I do not think it's possible to remove make up without some form of cleanser. I think location is important too - here, where it is polluted I have to be really careful about removing the days pollution and dirt. Our house in Australia is in the middle of no where and there is zero pollution with rain water only to wash in. My skin looks great there with very little effort if I go make up free.

Spookey80 · 22/06/2012 13:55

Quinn, I have a similar routine to you. Thought I was fine using soap and water for years. Until I realised I too looked like shit.
I now have a much better routine, and it has made a difference.
Morning-
Neutrogena face wash,
Olay 7 signs moisturiser with SPF

Evenings, I alternate between ocm(70/30 sweet almond oil/ castor) then an avene moisturiser. When I do ocm, I double cleanse, and this seems to make difference.
The other night, i just wash with neutrogena face wash, then apply the oil mix.
I use oilatum cream on the skin around my eyes as I have excema there, twice a day.
I'm 31.

Spookey80 · 22/06/2012 13:56

On the alternate night I don't wipe the oil mix off, I leave on overnight.

mosschops30 · 22/06/2012 16:24

Hi mad stalker bucharest, yes i am loving the Neals Yard rose oil, i wouldnt go back to decleor now as if anything i think my skin is better, plus its mega cheap in a giant bottle Smile

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/06/2012 17:09

Boots No 7 Hotcloth day and night.

Liz Earle moisturiser for oily skin

Fadeout cream under my under eye area, does that make sense? not on the eye skin iyswim.

Aldi Q10 anti wrinkle for mature skin with calcium on my neck, night time version. Fab stuff, only £1.99.

Dermalogica under eye cream, intensive something or other. Got it off ebay.

Nightly liz earle deep cleansing mask one night, dermalogica multivitamin recovery the next.

Bucharest · 22/06/2012 17:46

Thankyou Moss! Will give it a go when my Iris finishes..

I want now to hear more about the stellar Gatineau eye cream from Malory Mad please!

Tortington · 22/06/2012 17:47

i just wash my face with soapy stuff in the shower

add moisturiser occasionally - avon or soap and glory

Msarsebiscuit · 23/06/2012 07:44

Bucharest, I'm not sure it's a holy grail eye cream as I've only been using it for a week but so far the Astalift eye cream is hands down the best eye product I've used, I may be utterly deluded but there looks to be less crepeyness around my eyelid and I think the wrinkling at the corners of my eyes is reduced. It is a shedload of money though.

I'm also pretty impressed by the Astalift jelly stuff and moisturiser, which I bought at the same time (impressionable face) - however I am a skincare tart and like to maintain a healthy scepticism and will be interested to see if it carries on delivering.
