There we go!

Blimey at trousers SE! Bit tight.

Hopefully we do jewellery too. Dh and I could afford a dot when we got engaged. So was much better that we inherited a family one.

Thanks SE am tempted by the jbrands.

suburban · 15/06/2012 22:16

Still sobbing he is measuring the space now to see if we can fit another fridge in. SE his logic is that they always brake and we don't do that much washing up anyway. Obviously he doesn't, but I bloody do!

MrsCB what on earth are you low carbing for, you are teeeny! Would put the pregnant lady at about 5months, but pregnancy did not become me.

MarshaBrady · 15/06/2012 22:17

Noo get a good dishwasher not another fridge. It should last, I think my parents had one for 15 years (or more)

MrsCampbellBlack · 15/06/2012 22:17

I believe we can tell on which side she dresses Seventh.

MrsCB so maybe I should start investing in handbags just in case? Grin

Hopefully · 15/06/2012 22:24

Agree that a kitchen with dishwasher always looks much tidier - we have one sideboard that is covered in washing up approximately 14 seconds after we clear it. No idea how it happens. I have never lived in a house with a dishwasher since leaving home though, so am used to it.

MrsCampbellBlack · 15/06/2012 22:26

My dream kitchen would feature 2 dishwashers.

Hopefully - I think that's your duty to be honest. And if no DD think how grateful any future DIL's would be.

So I'm low-carbing - doing the BIWI plan on mn and seem to be losing a lb a day. But lordy am I craving sugar big time.

VerityBrulee · 15/06/2012 22:28

MiM I think the Gracie looks better in a colour. recently, and I have no idea how I managed this, I found myself in possession of 2 Gracies, one fuchsia, one navy. I could only keep one, and spent so much time trying to work out which I preferred. Even though I love navy and the shade of the pink one is not absolutely right ( I'm ridiculously fussy about shades of pink) I sold the navy. I think the pleating and the clasp really stand out in the coloured versions.

There is a lovely J Crew bag called Tillary, comes in red and green and is a good size. Maybe worth a look. Also Clarks have a bag with pleating, not dissimilar to Gracie.

Dec that sounds like a good grandparents check-list. You are lucky that dh is taking your side, mine was totally in denial (understandably) that his parents were so disinterested in our dc. It caused a lot of tension between us. I took it very personally. It was only after a couple of really nasty incidents that I was able to see that their behaviour was entirely their responsibility, no one else was causing it. I do have a twinge of sadness when I see the dc's friends with their GP's doting on them, but life's not perfect I guess.

Reine we live in a shoebox too! A shoebox with a nice kitchen now though Smile

Hopefully · 15/06/2012 22:33

MrsCB low carbing really works. I have not in any way got the willpower to do it, sadly. Also I find it hard to do v intensive exercise (like insanity) on low carb - psychological as much as an actual problem. Could probably do with lowering mine a bit more though, possibly excluding the truffles and banks with caramel sauce I just consumed Blush.

VerityBrulee · 15/06/2012 22:33

A dishwasher is a necessity not only for a tidy kitchen but for a harmonious marriage. Suburban if dh doesn't want a new one then all washing up becomes his responsibility. The fact is most washing up is done by women, therefore dishwasher's are a feminist issue.

MarshaBrady · 15/06/2012 22:36

Yes VB. As is satnav in the car. A marriage saver that is.

suburban · 15/06/2012 22:43

We have an AEG grr, most annoyingly it wouldn't have broken if I hadn't taken the filter out. Will make sure to leave ALL dishes this weekend Smile

Have low carbed in the past to great effect but I just can't keep it up. Aubergine parmigiana (sp?) is your friend!

rufus101 · 16/06/2012 00:26

Insist on that dishwasher Suburban.
Have a double drawer Fisher Paykel. Sort of fulfills the 2 dish washers MCB as you always have one on the go!

notyummy · 16/06/2012 01:26

What a great night. Lots of champagne, dancIng; chpagne fuelled chats with people I haven't seen in ages. Grilled crocodile (delicious) and dodgems.

OP posts:
alwaysrunninginheels · 16/06/2012 06:57

So am caught between

this and the more vibrant . Any opinions???
The mulberry thread has people who just don't understand handbags commenting on who would spend x on a handbag!!!Love hearing other ladies talking about leaving handbags to their daughters......I actually had that written into my will!!!! Think the solicitor thought I had lost the plot!!!
Oh suburban I do hope you persuade DP that a dishwasher is as essential as a flushing toilet! To me no dishwasher sounds dreadful but I have friends who swear its not necessary.

Hopefully · 16/06/2012 07:24

Grilled crocodile? Shock

Always I don't know your style terribly well, but I definitely think the fuchsia is a lot more interesting.

Am on a mission to work hard enough today to justify at least one of my big purchases, probably the 5050s, since I'm watching a pair on ebay from the States.

DonaAna · 16/06/2012 08:07

Always, the point of a bag these days is bring color and contrast to an outfit.
Black and brown imply you want to go for the safe and dull alternative.

Dishwasher is my best friend.

Decameron · 16/06/2012 08:29

MrsCB, love the blog and yes, I do recognise most everyone. You all look fab.

I don't know what is going on with my DD2, she was up at 10.30, 3.30 and 6am, we are going backwards now.

Bummer about the dishwasher, Suburban. An essential, I think.

I prefer the pink bag, Always.

Verity, he recognises full well that they have zero interest and he is not impressed. I will stop now or I'll go on about it ad nauseum!

MarshaBrady · 16/06/2012 09:20

Hmm tricky one Always. Quite like the midnight but think fuschia is better.

Decam we have nights like that, ds2 still ends up in our bed sometimes.

NY sounds fab!

Hopefully I have loads to do too.

Portia4 · 16/06/2012 09:22

Great blog MrsCB! I do recognise most of the people on it.

Poor you Decam, you must be exhausted. Very little GP interest here too. 'Love to see you coming , love to see you going' would be a favourite saying!

Oh the pink Gracie is fab Mim

Suburban there are a few reasons that DH and I have managed to
stay married for over 20 years, one being our fabulous cleaning lady
and the other being our dishwasher, your DH has got to be joking!

Ny that sounds like a great night last night. I went to a work related event and drank what appeared to be a moderate amount but am suffering with my 'sinuses' this morning, no sympathy from DH here!

NotSoGrumpy · 16/06/2012 09:22

always I prefer the fushia bag too. I'm loving my mini Gracie ( I got the blue), it's annoying it's even cheaper on the AH site but never mind. decam so sorry I couldn't make it to Westfield, DD2 was so poorly. Great bag! I have it in black like MrsCB and love it.

Haven't been posting for the last few weeks because we went on hol and then have been at PIL because the building work on our house hasn't gone according to plan. We should be back there next week and I'm excited about seeing the new paint colours but most of all about our new fitted wardrobe Grin.

I did manage a quick trip to the sales and bought these as an alternative to skinnies. Plus a top and navy cardigan in Gap. Oh and Ollie I've copied you and bought the Gap maxi which is lovely on.

MrsCB I love the blog and recognise some people who used to be on this thread. It's nice to see a blog showing people of different sizes and shapes, I've bookmarked it.

decam sorry to hear your DH is working again this weekend, that's really hard. Have you got a holiday booked for the summer at all?

NY what's grilled crocodile like? Sounds like a fun evening.

Emo76 · 16/06/2012 09:33

Dishwasher fan here too and I love the idea of two, would wisely save crockery storage?!

ants my fcuk Renoir top arrived and I love it! Bargain £17.50

Not much to report here. Dh and I need to have a "discussion" but are both avoiding it I think.

notyummy · 16/06/2012 09:42

Oh dear. Oh dear. Portia- I also have some sinus issues this morning. Twas worth it though- great night! Knees are covered in bruises from competitive dodgem ramming. Crocodile is lush! Like slightly tastier chicken with more texture. So many fab dresses last night- great for people watching.

Poor old dd not very well. Came and snuggled into bed with me at 0745 with temp and sore throat. Her breath smelled so bad it made me gag (doesn't take much this morning...) so I fear tonsillitis. Nurofen has helped so DH is now making a restorative breakfast of poached eggs for the ladies of the household.

Deca- sorry to hear about the night waking. Sounds grim.

Re dishwasher- we have one, but it only gets used when people come to visit and hence extra dishes. DH does the dishes in this house. If he didn't, the dishwasher would get used a lot more!

OP posts:
suburban · 16/06/2012 09:52

Phew after a very tense and passive aggressive morning dishwasher is fixed, but DP has made a point of washing everything up by hand anyway Hmm.

Having just remembered that our satnav is also broken I don't think now is the time to buy a new handbag.

I hope you feel better Portia and NY, sounds like a fab night.

always I think fuschia.

Good luck Emo is v quiet here this morning post dishwashergate, I can't stand it.
