There we go!

OP posts:
OllieinOrange · 15/06/2012 18:39

Finally got onto the Mulberry site - is anyone getting anything? Like the painted fringe scarf in foggy grey, and the postmans lock oversized clutch but not enough spare euros in the Ollie house at the moment

Reine I am in even more awe of your cookie making skill. I tried icing one butterfly. Lets just say the rest of them will be plain with a ribbon tied around the stick! Would love to follow a tutorial when I have allowed lots of time (not the case today which didnt help). Im also going to invest in a handy icing aid I saw yesterday - a round plastic squidy thing that would help control the flow of icing far better than the 'hole in plastic bag' method attempted earlier.

MiM feel so, so sorry for you. Am a firm believer in if its meant to be, it will be though, so keep looking.

Off out now to help friend set up for tomorrow's leaving do. Im offering to test the Pimms!

alwaysrunninginheels · 15/06/2012 18:42

reine thank you!! Am seriously pulling my hair out now...rollo slice made and decorated. 2 trays of cupcakes made with "the help" of a 5 and 7 year old into ladybirds......fondant icing everywhere. Now buttercream icing with the oldest child.....still more shortbread and muffins to go! Arrrrrggggghhhhh.....when will I get on the mulberry site?????!

AmberNectarine · 15/06/2012 18:46

Oh you are taking the piss? That was £75 I didn't need to spend. Poxy Selfridges. Ah well, I wouldn't have had it to take on holiday would I?

Russianred · 15/06/2012 19:09

Fingers crossed MiM can log on soon and get that bag!

Didn't mean to set off a childcare/reasons to work debate - am really just thinking about childcare and working as is relevant to my family and not standing in judgement of any specific childcare option. Hope that came across. Thank you all, as always, for your support and being good sounding boards.

So pleased you have settled back in nicely Verity. I get the kitchen sentiment. I smile every time I walk into ours.

Wish I was wearing DVF and going to a party, instead of sitting around in leggings and a big jumper whilst DH is out watching the football. One of my best friends is coming down on Sunday for the day to hang out with me, so it's not too bad. Happy Father's day, DH!

Hopefully · 15/06/2012 19:19

Am trying to decide which of my big A/W purchases to prioritise - new bag (most crucial, but most expensive too), 5050s, leather jeans or orange DVF. Hmmm.

Red it is really hard to figure out home/work/childcare solutions - every single family dynamic is so different.

Boots or bag hopefully. What bag are you after?

Everything I hear you. A Friday night trip to the pub with no time limits, no need to get little people into bed first and so on. Lovely. Have just realised we have no alcohol in the house and I really fancy a drink. I've also started craving a fag on a Friday evening Blush. What is happening to me?!

Have also persuaded myself I need a Gracie. Incidentally, DH has left behind his wallet with his CC in it. I think not, somehow.

Russianred · 15/06/2012 19:27

Boots, for sure.

I imagine I could sink a bottle if given half an opportunity. I think I need to go out in the evening soon - it's been a really, really long time.

Decameron · 15/06/2012 19:34

I've said it before, there should be an emergency prosecco delivery service.

Verity, I don't get it, my aunts and friends' parents dote on their grandchildren. DH told me to tell them I'm out if I want but I'd better not. We haven't booked to go anywhere. DH was told to take a few days off after this project but then there is something else that has to be done yesterday.

Hope you get the bag, MiM.

Glad you like the scarf, Reine, I love mine.

Agree with Everything, the 50/50s should be top of the list, Hopefully.

MidnightinMoscow · 15/06/2012 19:37

Thank you SE for the text!

Grin at MrsCB.

Now I am dithering about the colour. Black, although not my colour, would be good for all my going out clothes/evening things. Tan better for daytime. Both situations require a bag.

Do not, I repeat, do not suggest I order both.

how on earth would I tell DH, he is in bloody Spain and therefore not in the room at the moment

I need a summer birthday.

AmberNectarine · 15/06/2012 19:40

Red, MiM? Just call it your golfing holiday...

Russianred · 15/06/2012 19:40

You musn't order both MiM, the guilt will upset you too much to enjoy either. Right - what is your bag sitch at the moment? My argument would be that you are out in the day more at the moment, so tan would be a good option. BUT, you are probably using a big changing bag and will be for at least two more years, so she won't get out enough. Get the black.

Russianred · 15/06/2012 19:42

And yes, you smile sweetly and tell DH that this is your golfing holiday. Ham up a tough time whilst he's been away.

Hopefully · 15/06/2012 19:43

5050s it is then Grin

Am hoping finances stand up to more, as wardrobe is so lacking following weight loss, but will have to see.

Have no desire for booze really (but mainly because I'm such a lightweight that opening a bottle is a criminal waste), but have just purchased sweet treats from Waitrose for a Friday evening film with DH.

AmberNectarine · 15/06/2012 19:44

Nah, if you were going to spend £400 on bags you should at least get two different ones or a sale Mulberry

Mim I'm voting tan, it will work for evening too.

MidnightinMoscow · 15/06/2012 19:45

Well, I actually have no bags whatsoever as my cheapy River Island one broke this week. Blush Yes, I do use a changing bag most days, but every now and again/once in a blue moon I go out in the day alone.

Needs to be between the tan or black.

Gahhh!

Hopefully · 15/06/2012 19:46

Plus you can see the lovely design details more in the tan.

MrsCampbellBlack · 15/06/2012 19:47

MIM what colours do you wear a lot? I'd do for nude as will go with so much and also I always find black bags just never quite excite in the same way

Russianred · 15/06/2012 19:49

I prefer the tan to look at. You only have black in your head as that was the one that got away today. The design features and general beauty more prominent in the tan. And I use my tan bag all the time.

And tell DH that your bag broke. This is need, not want Wink.
