There we go!

OP posts:
suburban · 22/06/2012 20:34

Some people have very strange ideas about gender Red it works both ways. A good friend of mine has two boys and is always telling me how much easier boys are how we'll be responsible for DD all our lives but boys are independent at 18 etc.

Glad the meeting went well Fleecy.

Poor guy Decameron I hope it gets sorted soon.

Oooh I really like that jacket Fritzi

Exciting about tomorrow Hopefully I hope it goes well for you.

Russianred · 22/06/2012 20:41

I know Suburban - it's been really interesting to see how ingrained gender stereotypes are; particularly having a boy and a girl so close together, I'm often quite shocked.

I have a mini-crisis here. Casually talking on the phone with a friend, who ended the conversation with 'see you next week' - it would appear that the wedding I'd decided was in July is, in fact, next weekend and it's a big deal fancy one. Think I have recruited my sister for overnight childcare (although last time she looked after DS at 10 months her and her then BF drew a moustache on him before talking him for a walk in the park and wander round the market) but what to wear?!

MrsCampbellBlack · 22/06/2012 20:51

Red you will look amazing in that dress - you do need some leopard print accessories though Wink

Don't get me started on how under-valued boys are in today's society. Honestly the attention DD gets compared to the boys when we're out infuriates me.

Bloss - we have complicated family history but have recently discovered that 2 of my father's siblings died very suddenly whilst young of the same thing my sister has. We are 'estranged' from my father's family so no-one had bothered to contact us to inform us we needed testing. But we've been tested now I guess. Must say mn was invaluable for providing me with some great advice at the time.

My low-carbing is going well - 5lbs down.

blossoming · 22/06/2012 21:17

What a gorgeous dress red. You'll look amazing.
Fantastic weight loss mrscb, are you near target now?
Cautionary tale there re tractors decam. Is there still money to be made on eBay? I think it's harder now.
So I survived mr & mrs shred with little embarrassment. I find shred 1 tough on the old pelvic floor which can be embarrassing. Only 9 more days then we'll move on to level 2. Might rope in DS too as he's finding it hard to sleep these days.

MrsCampbellBlack · 22/06/2012 21:37

Well 7lbs ideally but perhaps 9.

DH is so super fit at the moment as his tdf thing is coming up soon and he's doing another 100mile race on Sunday - I just can not be the fat wife.

MidnightinMoscow · 22/06/2012 21:42

Decam what a nightmare. Totally understand the aversion to ebay.

What a stunning dress Red, you'll look perfect in it. Agree that some leopard print would look fabulous too. Chilli sounds excellent, much better to have as much done in advance and then you can be the hostess with the mostess. Smile

Well done on the marital shred Bloss.

We just finished watching the last part of the Greyson Perry series about British taste - absolutely fascinating, and love watching Grayson on TV, he is very engaging.

DH loved dinner, stealth boast alert, and ask me why am I not cooking for a living. Why indeed, I ask?! Anyhow, for anyone interested in the pork recipe, it can be found here. I find Bill Grangers Asian recipes excellent.

Decameron · 22/06/2012 21:49

It's any high value item really. Account hacking and fraud is a big problem (not mine, thankfully as it is not my responsibility but don't think that poor man will get his money back). I don't sell on eBay much any more, it annoys me to sell something for so much less then I paid. I am going to make 100% sure I am happy before buying something and give my old stuff to charity. Tempted to close my account but I may want to offload a bag down the line!

You look great in the majors, MrsCB.

Lovely dress, Red.

I get told that the DDs will be more trouble as teenagers (I was the sunny teenager, my brothers were the moody ones, actually), they are not as affectionate to their mothers as little boys, blah blah, I zone out. My SIL told me that my father was saying he wants more boys as he has only one grandson and his grandaughters won't carry on the family name. My SIL (who has a son and a daughter) nearly hit him. So did I when I heard.

blossoming · 22/06/2012 21:50

Well done mim! I made grilled chicken enchiladas which is better than a pound of Perl Las (local blue cheese). I must be worried to agree to shred with him!

Decameron · 22/06/2012 21:56

That looks scrumdiddlyumptious (DD1's new favourite word), MiM.

Hope you are now quaffing champagne, NY.

Russianred · 22/06/2012 21:59

MiM that looks delicious! Yum. DH just made me my all-time favourite meal - spaghetti with anchovies, lemon, olives and chilli. So simple, but nearly all of my favourite things (bar avocado). You do love cooking don't you? And sound to be very good at it.

Ok, shall go with the dress - feel a bit bad as it still had the labels in it! We have a lending each other clothes thing going on though, so I think it's ok - she assured me it was. I don't have any leopard heels though - do you have some nice Next ones MrsCB or am I making that up?

I really, really enjoyed the Grayson series and agree he was incredibly engaging - everyone he spent time with seemed t had a genuine affection for him.

pickledsiblings · 22/06/2012 22:07

All you need now is a hot tube Bloss.

Red, great dress. You should have your hair done the way that you had it at the first MU too. I've never really experienced the gender thing bias with my 3, maybe I just zone out like Decam. Come to think of it, people are somewhat 'incredulous' when they say how lovely my boys are.

Is there a drink that's gin and martini - is that the James Bond one? Very nice ice cold with lime...want some now!

Looby, hope you are doing fine and managing to conserve some energy for the big day.

Congrats MrsCB. Love the Worn Out blog - would like to see you standing a little straighter, more face and and to actually see your gace Smile. We have the schleich mummy and baby polar bear too Grin.

Saw a baby hare today, we couldn't believe our luck, soooo cute.

pickledsiblings · 22/06/2012 22:12

Should have proof read - oops.

try again...MrsCB, would like to see you standing straight on and would also like to see more of your face and perhaps a jacket on, jacket off shot. .

AntPants1 · 22/06/2012 22:34

red some lovely leopard print heels and matching clutch in Dune. Will see if I can find link...lovely dress BTW.

AntPants1 · 22/06/2012 22:39

red these are the shoes www.dune.co.uk/mobile/argy-d-bow-point-court-shoe-prodargyd22leopard/

They are really lovely IRL, pony skin. Cannot find the clutch but there is a matching envelope clutch.

MidnightinMoscow · 22/06/2012 22:40

Ha Decam, that made me laugh as DS has just started sayIng, "Wow, that's amazing". Grin

pickledsiblings · 22/06/2012 22:42

I think leopard might be a bit much for a wedding. I would just stick to boring nude heels and a nude mini Gracie ..

Russianred · 22/06/2012 22:48

Ooh they are nice Ants. It's a Civil Ceremony Pickled which might pave the way for a bit more flamboyance than usual at a wedding. TBH I have the boring L K Benett nude Middleton shoes, so will most likely wear those and avoid any expenditure - a bit necessary this month. Will have my Warehouse Edelman rip-offs in my bag for when my feet hurt to add the necessary something Wink. Leopard print clutch though...

MarshaBrady · 22/06/2012 22:50

Great dress Red

Go with the ones you have I reckon.

MrsCampbellBlack · 22/06/2012 22:52

Oh reluctant to show face to be honest - don't want to be too identifiable [hollow laugh]. Also photographs tricky - I need to train eldest DS up over the holidays which start in 2 weeks!!

Red - I have good leopard heels from next and dune - think the latter are in the sale.

Is anyone else watching Episodes - I love love love Matt LeBlanc

pickledsiblings · 22/06/2012 22:58

Just. bit more face would be nice Smile. You don't look short in your photos btw, not at all - if I had to guess I'd say about 5'4". I on the other hand .

pickledsiblings · 22/06/2012 23:04

Have you lot seen this Science video that there has been a lot of hoo ha over today. It just makes me laugh.

MrsCampbellBlack · 22/06/2012 23:33

Amber - I have botox and have done so for the last 18 months and love it but I am over a decade older than you. So I doubt you need it but if you were keen you need to find a practitioner with a light touch. I did party piece 'cross face/happy face' for the other mums last night on our mum's night out.

Hopefully · 23/06/2012 07:09

Just setting off on epic car journey to view house. Unsurprisingly it is a glorious sunny day Hmm. Forced myself out of jeans and am wearing coral/beige stripe TS maxi, leopard scarf, stone coloured linen biker and various long necklaces. And cashmere cardigan for when the temp inevitably drops to 10 degrees in an hour's time. Hedged my bets with shoes by wearing Toms and taking sandals.

Hope everyone has lovely Saturdays!

Decameron · 23/06/2012 07:46

Hope you get the house, Hopefully, if you like it.

Still in dressing gown here.

I have been up since 5am with DD2, who is now crashed out on the rug, fast asleep. She looks very cute and I am afraid to move her in case she wakes.

That made me laugh too, Pickled. How did they think it was a good idea to release that video?!
