Do you remember the show Pimp My Ride? I pimped my Mini Gracie.
The strap was a bit long and also zigzaggy from being bundled up in the box.
So I detached the plain steel chain strap from my Dior pochette - it's perfect and can be worn two ways, long or looped once around the bag flap which makes a lovely double chain.
Have had a post-it influenced day today. Yellow dress, green Gracie, neon orange ballerinas, burgundy sash (I think it was originally used to tie up my Matches bundles
). Not sure how lunatic I looked but got compliments from a few passer-by. Ladies, I overcame my fear of yellow! Will you join me this week in wearing at least once something that challenges a personal style taboo/color phobia/shape aversion?
Italians are so confident with color. Saw three lovely ladies on my street on their way to the supermarket today. One wore magenta narrow trousers (not skinnies - you don't see colored skinnies on adult women all that much in these parts), a transparent white silk skirt (fabulous quality fabric, almost greasepaper like in texture) tucked in at the front but not at the back, plus flat plain silver sandals. Another: a breton type dress, but the stripes were about 20 cm wide, brilliant electric blue and blinding white, really crisp cotton, knee length, monastically plain and severe. The third lady broke a few style rules: tight narrow black trousers, a very tight and generously necklined top, perfectly balanced with an enormous, very thin black envelope clutch and sky-high stilettos that had injection needle like steel heels. Stripper chick? No, she looked like she was strutting down the catwalk...
Dinner suggestions: I have a few easy but satisfying things I often serve. Penne with a cold sauce of plain yoghurt, dill, pink peppers and smoked salmon. Roast chicken with lemon juice, brown sugar, salt, thyme, dried mint, and olive oil (1 hour in 200 C) and a big green salad. Or roast veal with the same marinade (1,5-2 hours in 175C); if you place the meat in the roasting pan over cubed raw potatoes, onions and parsnips, it's a full meal with minimal effort.
Sorry for the maxi length message...
