There we go!

OP posts:
Decameron · 17/06/2012 11:54

I think you need some retail therapy, Bloss.

DH was giving her a dream feed until recently but is too tired/home too late. She is a greedy little thing like her mother so she needs it still. Porridge would be good but she can't manage a spoon and won't allow me feed her.

Decameron · 17/06/2012 12:02

Oh and Suburban, I was thinking of you yesterday! We kept losing electricity as I was trying to cook the girls' dinner and DD1 was shouting as she couldn't watch cartoons. I was cursing DH not being there, his boss etc but eventually realised it was the dishwasher tripping the circuit breaker. So I am back to doing the dishes until the estate agents reopen tomorrow.

rufus101 · 17/06/2012 12:26

Hope your Sunday is relaxing Decam. You never know they might get a rush of blood to the head and surprise you! At least you can come on here to vent afterwards.
We have DS1 7th birthday party today. Dreading. It.
I have eschewed the bouncy castle as it generally rains but have some party games planned. Making Bloss' quiche for DH for Farther's Day as its one of his favourites.

Got a beautiful DVF on Friday. Reduced from 400 to 145?. Got it for 120, as I had 25? on my loyalty card. Have never seen such a good sale in BTs. Tried on Victoria Beckham super skinnies in a cobalt blue. Quite impressed actually. They were like spanx/ TED stockings!(which is good).
I have to get into town and have a good look. I only had an hour on Friday.
Have a good day everyone!

NotSoGrumpy · 17/06/2012 13:08

Sounds like a fab bargain rufus.

decam I haven't been to Antibes so can't help there but if your DH is taking a week off what about a mid week night or two in a child-friendly hotel in the UK? We loved calcot manor and friends have been to Barnsley house which is also meant to be lovely. Oh and have you tried giving DD2 porridge fingers from the BLW cookbook?

We've got into some bad habits with DD2, she's in the same room as us in a travel cot so when she wakes at 4 or 5 am I've been bringing her into our bed and she usually goes back to sleep until DD1 bounds in and wakes us up at 6ish.

Does anyone know what time the NAP sale starts tomorrow?

blossoming · 17/06/2012 14:28

I think a bit of sunshine would do wonders decam! (Sorry nsg Grin)
I am still perusing nice bags and changing my mind about the Chloe Paraty. Think it could be a contender.
everything, could you give me pointers and a link to your DS's bike trailer please?

Bloss when we were looking at bike trailers we decided on a Burley cub, as it seemed able to cope with various terrain - it's the one they use at centre parks I believe, as DH wants to be able to take the boys in the trailer off road a bit. SE's AT3 seemed to be standing up to use well though, last time I saw it Smile

SE I'm not physically exhausted, more mentally very very full up at the minute. You know when every time you pause all you can think is the huge list of things that needs accomplishing by about yesterday? I'm there. I did treat myself to a quick jog instead of Insanity today - I've got PMT and always struggle hugely with energy levels when I do. Was quite nice trotting round the park and seeing the bowls game and all the families out.

Rufus I have DVF Envy.

Having decided that 5050s were the purchase to make, I am now wondering how much use I'll get out of them long term. Dilemmas. I do love them, and they do look good folded down, so I'm guessing I'll use them like that if I get bored of the whole OTK thing, but it's hard to decide.

loobylu3 · 17/06/2012 17:13

Hello all!

Loving the Gracie dilemmas (what a great dilemma to have, eh?). I love the cobalt colour. Nude is good too. MIM- if you around still, is it something that you would realistically use with small baby. For me, I probably wouldn't at present. I'm a bit of a kitchen sink girl but I suppose if you have a changing bag on the buggy plus the Gracie, it could work...

Hope your afternoon works out better than anticipated, decam. What would they say if you were just to ask them? Perhaps they would feel embarrassed into going out for an hour at least (appreciate may be wishful thinking)!
I can really sympathise with you on the sadness you feel from a lack of doting grandparents.
It probably makes you feel even more sad though as I'm sure your own mother would have been super lovely. :(
We have use found help this past week (thx for asking) and I'm sure it will help me to (hopefully) retain my sanity during the exhausting first weeks/ months.
My DH is working today as well and then doing nights this week so hoping I don't go into labour as he won't actually be able to leave the hospital!

bloss- I bought the IO jersey shirt when they had the 50% off offer. I sized up to a 10 as it is quite close fitting and I am bigger at present anyway. I really like it. Would definitely agree that IO tends to come up large in general though. The trousers are a lovely colour.
Nice Boutique by Jaegar jumper- they do nice stuff. I like this too.

Pleased that you have sorted your dishwasher irritation suburban! I remember when we had just DD1 and were living in hospital accommodation (which was ex council, really horrible with 30 yr old furniture and definitely no dishwasher). I told DH that when I went back to work when she was 6 months, he was doing all the washing up and miraculously, a dishwasher was bought within a couple of weeks! Maybe you could try that trick too. :)

Have promise to take the DC to the park for a bit so had better go!

loobylu3 · 17/06/2012 17:14

Forgot to say, rufus- great DVF bargain! I love her dresses!

AmberNectarine · 17/06/2012 18:14

Yes we use the Burley

AmberNectarine · 17/06/2012 18:15

Whoops. We use the Burley every time we go to CP and it is v good.

blossoming · 17/06/2012 18:56

Thanks for the info re trailers. I don't really want to spend Cub money, but we'll see. Decided against IO. Have been too grumpy. Found a dab website where you can see 100's of photos carrying the bag/item of clothing of your choice. Will link later.
That was a great bargain rufus. Which one was it?

rufus101 · 17/06/2012 19:38

It's a wrap dress in navy/black/grey and off white colour way. Will see if I can find online Bloss.
Party over. And relax. They seemed to have a ball. We just did old fashioned party games. Very retro and recession friendly! Did a great game which involved buying Tescos cheapest loo r

rufus101 · 17/06/2012 19:39

Damn iPhone!
Anyway game was dividing them into teams and they had to make a mummy. Using Tescos cheapest loI r

rufus101 · 17/06/2012 19:40

You'd think I had been at the wine! (I haven't. Yet!)
Anyway you get the picture. 7 year old boys. Lots and lots of cheap loo r

rufus101 · 17/06/2012 19:41

Grrr! I give up. This phone is too sensitive!

rufus101 · 17/06/2012 19:42

Really sorry for the repeated mind numbing messages!

Russianred · 17/06/2012 19:48

Your last few posts made me giggle Rufus! Glad the party was a success.

Hope your evening ends the weekend on a higher note Bloss.

How was your afternoon Decam? Painless I hope!

I have had the most lovely afternoon with my friend, who came down for the day from London. Afternoon tea and shopping. All for her, I might add. I played the personal shopper as she is 23 weeks pregnant and has struggled to find a look that she's happy with. After seeing my lovely friends, I always feel a bit sad that I no longer have anyone I'm as close to nearby. Poor me..!

NotSoGrumpy · 17/06/2012 20:01

Sounds like a great party rufus

Sorry you're grumpy bloss, I've been put off ordering from IO after my last experience when it took 3 1/2 weeks and several phone calls to get a refund for stuff I'd returned.

We popped into our house today, it's a complete state and the idiot electrician left the power off all weekend so the fridge stinks and all the batch cooked frozen food I'd made for the DDs is ruined. I'm feeling very fed up so I'm going to cheer myself up by browsing NAP and making a sales wishlist.

red my closest friends all live quite a way away, it's hard but lovely when we do catch up.

blossoming · 17/06/2012 20:08

What a pain nsg. Nap sale browsing sounds great. I am going to shred. In a minute..
Then will be on the wine. Cheers rufus!
This is the cool website I mentioned. Forgive me if I'm behind on this, but you put anything in the search engine, like EA, or Agnes, or Balenciaga, and it comes up with photos of that person/handbag. I could spend hours on there!

Russianred · 17/06/2012 20:40

How annoying about all the ruined food NSG. I'd be livid!

I enjoy coolspotters very much Bloss.

Tried this coat on in Zara today and liked very much. Then, my lovely friend reminded me of a near identical one I have that I last wore 4 years ago. Have managed to find it in a forgotten-about coat box, so am feeling very pleased with myself. It is lovely though, for anyone needing that kind of thing!

Hopefully · 17/06/2012 21:25

I have a bit of NAP wish list going on, doubt any of it will be reduced enough, but worth a shot, right?

Rufus I am Grin at your posts.

Bloss coolspotters is great - I spent ages on there when I was trying to decide whether I wanted Pistols. Saw a woman in them yesterday actually, and decided they were really nice but totally not me. Which was satisfying.

belsize77 · 17/06/2012 21:27

Ladies, I hope you don't mind me delurking to ask a question. I had a bit of a sales splurge in Selfridges both on Thursday and yesterday. I was prompted to delurk when I realised that I was sub consciously channelling Amber Nectarine as I bought the same Goldsign skinnies and Day Birger Breton tunic dress before seeing her links. I may also have bought loads of expensive bras and a Vivienne Westwood and a Michael Kors day dress... Totally unexpectedly today I have just found out I am expecting DC3. My dilemma is - should I take it all back as (all being well) I won't be wearing some of the stuff for the best part of 2 years. Maybe I should just exchange for shoes and bags...the 14 day exchange period doesn't allow for a sensible wait and see approach to pregnancy unfortunately.

Any thoughts on this very shallow issue appreciated.

AmberNectarine · 17/06/2012 21:37

Ooh belsize, that is a dilemma. I would keep the Birger breton, as I think that could work a good way into a pregnancy and is pretty timeless. I also think the Goldsigns are pretty classic, unless a massive shift change back to bootcut is on the horizon. Can you link the MK and VW? Bras have to go back, I think as no guarantee you'll end up the same size. I'd be tempted to return a lot as I'm an instant gratification kind of girl and having lovely things hanging in my wardrobe which I couldn't wear would be torture. Congratulations, on the baby and the shopping!

OllieinOrange · 17/06/2012 21:37

Busy weekend and now all very tense (not chez Ollie it has to be said!) as Holland needs a win against Portugal to go through. not looking good tho.

Hope you all had nice father's day? Got DH back for more than a few dubious presents over the years and got him a Body Shop foot file Smile (and some lovely aftershave from Massimo Dutti which DS1 pointed out was more for me than for him!)

Friend's leaving do yesterday was lovely - really great boat tour around the city. Drank lots of Pimms in the afternoon which caught up with me and I had the strange experience of a 7pm hangover! A power nap, hot bath and dinner cooked by DH sorted that out tho.

Rufus - I was chortling at your iphone related posts! Party sounds good.
Bloss do you need a trailer or can your bike cope with a rear bike seat? I love mine but DS2 does moan if its cold or wet.
MrsCb. Really enjoyed looking at your blog - looks great, as do you all on it. Like the whole idea of having entries from ladies with different styles, tastes body shapes etc on one blog and enjoyed the writing styles too.

Calling Whistles fans - The online stylist blog today featured some things from their AW range. Red - I can see you in all of them. Apparently over the knee boots feature heavily so still worth buying Hopefully?. Will find link.
