Cheap as chips

noddyholder · 07/06/2012 17:56

bargain

MrsCampbellBlack · 07/06/2012 18:07

Those dresses have a lot of gathering around the waist.

noddyholder · 07/06/2012 18:16

I think its quite a low drape and with the very sparse top half maybe quite flattering.

Enragia · 07/06/2012 18:17

Well
I'll wait for the Tesco firehazard dress. Then compadres! We move on.

What happened to the maxi skirt?

Pinot · 07/06/2012 21:12

I like those DIAD choices. The black one I imagine would be flattering avec tittage. I look lbs slimmer when I have a fitted upper tummy area. Looks better in photos too - if you get a picture from the waist up in a baggier outfit, you can look hefty. Well I can, I'm generalising about the rest of y'all.

Pinot · 07/06/2012 21:12

lol at firehazard

MrsCampbellBlack · 07/06/2012 21:16

I love the word hefty its up there with sturdy isn't it or plumpscious which is what my mother calls me when I gain weight Hmm

Pinot · 07/06/2012 21:19

YY see also tubby and plump

MrsCampbellBlack · 07/06/2012 21:34

God yes - children love 'plumpy' from madagascar.

noddyholder · 07/06/2012 21:35

My ds and his mates call it 'mummy arms' Shock Not me of course Wink

Pinot · 07/06/2012 21:38

My Nanna once said I had arms like hams.

For a tiny wee old person she was surprisingly snarky. I learnt from the best :o

Enragia · 07/06/2012 23:17

I didn't get to shop. Rain

Enragia

I think either of those would be great for Henley (personally I think the Tesco one is better - the other . although pretty , is a bit "cocktail" for Henley. ) However , if you prefer the latter and will wear it , get it , it will be fine .

You , I assume , know what suits you , my advice is purely aimed at what would be OK for HRR .

Have a lovely day - I wonder if I shall see you in all your splendour this year ....

Seriously enjoy it - once you are there you won't worry about the frock - you will have a lovely time I am sure and I wish you well .

Dress code for stewards is throughout the enclosure and enforced, so be careful with on the knee. Shoulders can be bare but there is very little shade on a warm day. Lots of mud or grass so don't do spiky heels, wedges are better. Style is generally more floaty than your standard Kate m, generally most people don't wear formal plain tailoring unless of a certain age. Hats are not really done these days, other than softer styles (not formal wedding, think country house wedding). Cheapest food at the bridge end is the competitors cafe which you can get into with your badges.

cybbo · 08/06/2012 21:52

That spotty tesco one is really nice but frankly, I'm worried about your hooters and how much support they can expect to receive on the day

no one wants those bad boys swinging around willy nilly

Enragia · 08/06/2012 22:02

Have you checked your hosts are not feeding you Enragia? We had hospitality so didn't pay myself, but think it worked out as £100 ish per head. It's the wine and Pimms bill you need to watch. I seem to remember there was a buffet option in the Stewards tent.

cybbo · 08/06/2012 22:12

still reckon tesco spot, black suits you

Enragia · 08/06/2012 22:12

i dont know - owner of tickets wont actually be there, we need to politely ask...
