Coast have some contendors but again pretty pricey - will now look at warehouse.

So many are just very cheap looking pencil dresses or strapless and I know you love those

MrsCampbellBlack · 06/06/2012 17:22

How about go for a pencil skirt like this with a nice blouse or a jacket?

MrsCampbellBlack · 06/06/2012 17:23

Yes a look like this

Enragia · 06/06/2012 19:23

Right. Phase eight maxi tube skirt looking a go er

MrsCampbellBlack · 06/06/2012 19:44

I can't believe you're wearing a maxi - you'd better be on those threads now defending them Wink

dexter73 · 06/06/2012 20:05

I love maxi dresses but cannot get on with maxi skirts for some reason.

Pinot · 06/06/2012 20:27
Envy

that is all I have to say

noddyholder · 06/06/2012 20:40

Maxi skirt WAY better than maxi dress can look super chic and flattering

Pinot · 06/06/2012 20:59

I agree nodders, old bean. I wear them and look all kinds of awesome.

dexter73 · 06/06/2012 21:22

I think it's because I have a short body and long legs.

MrsCampbellBlack · 06/06/2012 21:28

Get Dexter dropping her legginess casually in like that Wink

dexter73 · 06/06/2012 21:32

Grin but I do!! 5'7" and 34" legs!!

girlgonemild · 06/06/2012 21:39

I love this one personally but doesn't sound your style

Basically go try Asos go to 'dresses' and then select 'midi dress' and you'll get lots of on the knee/just below the knee options a lot of them only £25/35ish :)

oldqueenie · 06/06/2012 21:58

Thanks. Like the shape of the warehouse bandeau (I know fucking eh ) one on asos. Plus is Bargainous as I'd never wear again.

Agree they are super strict. Saw a couple of ladies turned away last year. I wore a midi last year from Whistles. this is nice in real life and you could potentially wear afterwards. Orange tricky to wear for some though.

Enragia · 07/06/2012 06:39

Ooh link went to home page.
Need cheap really as I really will never wear again

Enragia · 07/06/2012 06:40

Inside, is it very weddings. Ie if I wear a long skirt , does everything have to be super formal ?
So the knees thing is literally just for walking in ?

OP posts:
CHOOGIRL · 07/06/2012 07:51

Yes. Cover knees for getting in. Then anything within reason goes. Think about shoes too. Lots of grass. We were on a round table so it felt exactly like a wedding but without music and speeches. Spent most of day getting drunk on champagne didn't see many boats Will you have access to the Leander club too?

Enragia · 07/06/2012 08:17

No idea. It's not really my thing !

OP posts:
noddyholder · 07/06/2012 08:21

My sis has been a few times it is v strict but she is not vey into clothes at all so assume as long as knees covered anything goes will ask her

Fuchzia · 07/06/2012 08:37

Um haven't been for a few years but seem to remember shoulders must be covered too. Once you get past the gate you are free and clear.

Enragia · 07/06/2012 11:59

We have Leander things. Wtf is that
