Basically go try Asos go to 'dresses' and then select 'midi dress' and you'll get lots of on the knee/just below the knee options a lot of them only £25/35ish :)

Agree they are super strict. Saw a couple of ladies turned away last year. I wore a midi last year from Whistles. this is nice in real life and you could potentially wear afterwards. Orange tricky to wear for some though.

Yes. Cover knees for getting in. Then anything within reason goes. Think about shoes too. Lots of grass. We were on a round table so it felt exactly like a wedding but without music and speeches.
