CHOOGIRL · 07/06/2012 12:36

Leander is the Members Club House. Great for people watching. It's like being transported into another world - boaters, blazers, innane chit chat. Hope the weather is kind for you.

noddyholder · 07/06/2012 12:58

A completely plain dark long maxi dress might do!

noddyholder · 07/06/2012 13:46

this Cheap and can be dressed up a bit You might hate but they are useful on holiday too as a cover

Enragia · 07/06/2012 13:51

I wonder. How long is it on you nod?

OP posts:
noddyholder · 07/06/2012 13:56

I don't have that partic one so not sure on length. I have one from matalan v old but it does look ok with decent bra.

noddyholder · 07/06/2012 14:00

this maybe with gold flats if you have. May be a bit casual but i love it

Enragia · 07/06/2012 14:06

I'd look huge in that. I rilly need straight or il look like the SS hugebint

Strapless is the only one then! Or black 3/4 sleeves plain long High st full of them. There is a v nice one in East friend got for wedding sort of mauvey grey but prob not cheap but nice

Summermeadow · 07/06/2012 15:07

Not sure about Leander club but I would say that the Stewards' is not weddingy in the same way as Ascot. Haven't looked at your links but a summer dress , or a maxi dress you could subsequently wear on holiday would be fine with a wrap & I got a big stiff net bow from Accessorize for hair (didn't matter if rained as hadn't broken the bank)
Agree about flat shoes.
I'll have a look at the Towie thing but I would say that from the little I've seen of it - what they would wear wouldn't nec. be typical of the norm. HTH

I wonder if I rather like this Tesco beauty m.clothingattesco.com/tesco/product/detail.do?categoryId=2167624&itemId=by211865

I thought you had boobs? I think it'll hang off your boobs and make your top half look barrel-esque. Sorry and that. I am blessed avec breast too and those puffy topped dresses look mingalicious on me.

I know. Shock.

CardiCorgi · 07/06/2012 16:56

I don't remember anyone being as "fashiony" as Ascot (well the photos of Ascot in the papers), but that was a few years ago. We didn't bother with hats (impoverished undergrads).
Another thing, they didn't like people taking massive bags in, as far as I remember picnic hampers and rucksacs couldn't be taken in.

Have fun, I'm quite jealous. One of my ambitions was to cox at Henley but I don't see it happening any time now.

noddyholder · 07/06/2012 17:02

I know what you mean about boobs Need definite waist definition for it to look ok. I could at my skinniest but would be barrel if a bit heavier. Good bra should help I really love the dress though

Enragia · 07/06/2012 17:11

ohy NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
was just feeling pleased
