For anyone who's interested .........................

OP posts:

Surprisingly, I've seen quite a few things I would like to try on - couple of dresses, tops and maybe a skirt but is it just me, or have the prices hiked up again? I ordered a parka 2 winters ago and as far as I recall it was between £110-125. Now they're £169! How in heavens name can they justify that? Rising the prices to give us discounts yet protect their profit. Biscuit

hattymattie · 02/06/2012 09:01

Phew - glad I got the parka last year! A bit uninspiring but I've put in three little long sleeved tops - good for layering and I rather fancy the skye jumper in purple. Otherwise I'm waiting for the summer sale - I have my eye on a posh linen jacket and a swimming costume!Smile

MrsBovary · 02/06/2012 11:08

I always complain about those perpetual discounts, they should scrap them and lower the prices accordingly, they're always available after all.

I bought three skirts and a plain top in the end . I'm also considering the Skye jumper and the heritage tank.

Enragia · 02/06/2012 12:20

I like Peter pan top. Wish they did sexier pencil shorts. More Lycra for better fit.
Shoes look dull although like the loafers

Enragia · 02/06/2012 12:21

I had to ring for the ten pound discount. I never got it. They were surprised and I thought it was me. Obv not !

Enragia · 02/06/2012 12:22

Id recommend the lands end shimmer down parka. Awesome

HollyBollyBooBoo · 02/06/2012 13:35

Just so samey-samey and so expensive. You can get similar wrap dresses for far, far less money on the High Street.

ameliagrey · 02/06/2012 19:05

There are styles in petite but they are not listed as such- you have to click on the item to see which are available in petite.

I have actually now seen a few things I like! One or two plain dresses/tunics, the chino trousers, and the Skye jumper. I think I might also have the Rainy Day mac in black this year.

Lovely coats too but don't need another one.....

mrsebojones · 02/06/2012 20:07

Thanks, I just realised that about the petite stuff too.
Currently sitting in my shopping basket:
Millie spot top in silver
Guernsey T-shirt in red
Merino cardigan in silver
These will all work in late summer / early autumn for me
Stuff that is more winter that I have my eye on:
Cropped cashmere cardi in ivory
Tweed blazer
cord dress in mole

ameliagrey · 02/06/2012 20:20

I might try the Emma Tunic Dress, the Natalie dress- which could double up as a summer dress- and a couple of the cord dresses- think one is the "Stitch trim".

Remember that Johnnie has given us a whole 12 months to like or return- so even if I change my mind when I see other brands, i can return for a refund later.

orangeandlemons · 03/06/2012 20:18

I never understand why they do so many 3/4 or short sleeved stuff in winter, particularly 3/4 sleeve jumpers

I need to have warm wrists where I live. I suspect it is a money saving thingHmm

blueglue · 03/06/2012 22:32

I like mini boden clothes and buy good quality basics from there that my kids live in. Am irritated the preview for mini isn't there.

QuickLookBusy · 04/06/2012 18:19

Does anyone know if there is a discount code for the preview or do we have to wait for that?

Enragia · 04/06/2012 18:42

My link automatically gives me 20%

cardoon · 04/06/2012 18:53

Thank you cardoon.

I didn't get sent a link dispite buying quite a few things recently.

I really like the Laura dress in Pewter and although it looks rather thin, I thought it might be ok with a thin jumper/t-shirt underneath.

Enragia · 05/06/2012 12:59

Anyone know when it expires ?

cardoon · 05/06/2012 13:11

25/6

Gingefringe · 05/06/2012 13:29

They now have Helena Christensen modelling for them!! Confused

suntodayplease · 05/06/2012 13:42

Have filled my basket with warm knitwear which seems appropriate for this weather. If I place my order now, when do they charge your CC? Now or in 8 weeks when they dispatch?

GeorginaWorsley · 05/06/2012 13:44

Am liking the ankle zip slim trousers.
Agree dresses not up to much.

Northernlurker · 05/06/2012 13:49

Hmmmmmm the Emma tunic dress is growing on me. Maybe the twist neck tunic.

Northernlurker · 05/06/2012 13:50

They charge when they dispatch

MrsBovary · 05/06/2012 14:56

Aargh. I've just ordered two kintwear items, in addition to my other order. The Skye jumper, and a tank. And I'm still deciding whether to buy the Hannah dress.

My initial observation was that it was same-old, but I've been surprised and impressed. I hope the quality is good!

Definitely gives hope for improvement in Mini B also.
