Thank you for the Oasis cherry jeans advice. I am probably a size 10, I imagine. It is hard to gauge nowadays with all the vanity sizing. I tried on some J Brands previously and too a 27 inch so a bit between sized in some ranges. I may order 8 and 10 soon and try to judge a bit better 2-3 postnatally (stressing the a bit bit there)!
Had to google the HN ad- completely tasteless and destructive from an advertising point of view, I would have thought. I can't see it actually appealing to anyone.
Sorry to hear re your friend ollie. You are so thoughtful and kind! Also, your friend's mum, blue. Life can be so cruel.
Love your new maxi ollie
Wow to your McQ shoes, rufus! They are v not me but v cool!
SE- you sound v calm re flooding/ work, etc. Has it been dry with you today? There were a couple of hours of sunshine here today. I nearly fainted with shock!
You should totally enjoy and work related or other flirtations!
emo- sorry about rubbish home coming. Tis horrible when you look forward to seeing the family and then it all goes horribly wrong. It sounds, as pickled says, as if he is upset/ stressed over work issues and is struggling to deal with it. Hopefully, he will apologise once he has sobered up and you can talk sensibly.
decam- lovely story re your g/mother. I remember a similar occurrence with my g/mother. She had had a CVA also (although she could speak) and was rather weak and being nursed in a cottage hospital. The message I had was that she wasn't expected to survive long so I went down to see her on a day off with DD1 (then about 20 months). DD1 was a v energetic, bouncy, happy toddler and my g/mother cheered up instantly on seeing her and became much more responsive following the visit. Even the other elderly ladies on the ward perked up. There's something to be said for children as healers, eh?
Love the Crumpet scarf. I remember you linking before and the price seems more in my range now- v tempting!
Great floral skinnies, fritzi. I'm with NY and wouldn't wear flowers/ patterned jeans because of my fear of drawing further attention to my bottom!
reine- I had another peek at your blog recently. Wow! You are so talented and what imaginative designs!
bloss- good luck with your assessment.
amber- I'm sorry I missed your post re skin the other day. Hopefully, it has cleared up by now as you have recovered from the tonsillitis. I think the skin can be reflective of one's state of health. Let me know if it isn't better anyway.
pickled- congratulations on your first day in your new job. You sound v positive.
red- I can't believe that you never get complimented! Did you get any further with the childcare/ wardrobe dilemmas?
I think for me, my most complimented items are my Hobbs lined coat which is a stone sort of colour with white polka dots and a peter pan collar and a Coast lace skirt, which I got on ebay. I've had both for years and I still seem to get complimented nearly every time I wear them.
I am getting lots of kind compliments at present actually about my neat bump/ how I haven't put much weight on/ how well I look actually. I don't feel v 'neat' but it does make one feel better at a less than glamorous time and better than being told that I look bigger every time he sees me by a work colleague (yes, he has a great sense of humour)!
Apologies for epic post. Well done to anyone who has had the patience to read this far.
