Just bought the Me & Em maxi. Well I had a code..

Evening All

Have had a fab day at work today, wore an all blue skirt/shirt/tights combo and felt good - will wear Agnes tomorrow. Bought myself a new 13 in Macbook Air and got a whopping 15% off for buying it on campus, plus a £70 iStore voucher - result!

Bloss, best of luck for tomorrow, hope you get outstanding. There was a MFL teacher who won teacher of the year on teacher's TV and she did a programme on going from good to outstanding - you could try Googling it and maybe watch it in bed?

Everything, pleased that you are feeling the butterflies again Smile.

Emo, B. is most likely v. cross with things at work and taking it out on you and the girls. I know that my DH finds it hard to cope with the DC when he is stressed. I hope he apologises when he sobers up - try not to take it personally.

Ollie, hurrah for the maxi and Fritzi, you have to keep the florals now that they have Bonsoirs seal of approval.

Great to see you back Decam, lovely story about your Grandmother and the girls. Will you be returning the red AH in a day or two? I want a Mulberry Alexa Hobo like Red's and DH has agreed to buy me one (if I can find one) for my b'day. Chortled at MrsCB's life begins at birthday coming up Grin.

MarshaBrady · 13/06/2012 22:32

Ooh well done Red (for remembering!). Yes I saw the second Grayson Perry. Would like to see the first. The tapestries are incredible.

I'm sure you will get loads of compliments when we next meet up in July Grin

Well done Pickled!

Russianred · 13/06/2012 22:32

So glad the day went well Pickled - how many days a week are you doing? Ring around the various outlets - start with Shepton Mallet as they definitely had some recently.

Russianred · 13/06/2012 22:38

Meant to say Bloss, your outfit inspired me today - Whistles classic breton, Mango 7/8 trousers (which are actually capris Blush, leopard belt, yellow suede pumps, Roxy and Wayfarers. Could quite happily wear that outfit one day a week.

pickledsiblings · 13/06/2012 22:43

Red, two days a week to start with and then hopefully a further day from home. When do you start your teaching? How much should I expect to pay for the bag btw?

Marsha, I need another hint.

pickledsiblings · 13/06/2012 22:44

It might actually help if I had the telly on Grin.

Russianred · 13/06/2012 22:47

Mine was £450, but they were £550ish in the outlet. I don't start till September, thankfully. Have had to rope in the reluctant Granny to do interim childcare before DD turns 2 on the 10th and can start at Nursery. Two days sounds nice.

MarshaBrady · 13/06/2012 22:47

Pickled red dot! (pm)

loobylu3 · 13/06/2012 22:58

Thank you for the Oasis cherry jeans advice. I am probably a size 10, I imagine. It is hard to gauge nowadays with all the vanity sizing. I tried on some J Brands previously and too a 27 inch so a bit between sized in some ranges. I may order 8 and 10 soon and try to judge a bit better 2-3 postnatally (stressing the a bit bit there)!

Had to google the HN ad- completely tasteless and destructive from an advertising point of view, I would have thought. I can't see it actually appealing to anyone.

Sorry to hear re your friend ollie. You are so thoughtful and kind! Also, your friend's mum, blue. Life can be so cruel.
Love your new maxi ollie
Wow to your McQ shoes, rufus! They are v not me but v cool!

SE- you sound v calm re flooding/ work, etc. Has it been dry with you today? There were a couple of hours of sunshine here today. I nearly fainted with shock!
You should totally enjoy and work related or other flirtations!

emo- sorry about rubbish home coming. Tis horrible when you look forward to seeing the family and then it all goes horribly wrong. It sounds, as pickled says, as if he is upset/ stressed over work issues and is struggling to deal with it. Hopefully, he will apologise once he has sobered up and you can talk sensibly.

decam- lovely story re your g/mother. I remember a similar occurrence with my g/mother. She had had a CVA also (although she could speak) and was rather weak and being nursed in a cottage hospital. The message I had was that she wasn't expected to survive long so I went down to see her on a day off with DD1 (then about 20 months). DD1 was a v energetic, bouncy, happy toddler and my g/mother cheered up instantly on seeing her and became much more responsive following the visit. Even the other elderly ladies on the ward perked up. There's something to be said for children as healers, eh?
Love the Crumpet scarf. I remember you linking before and the price seems more in my range now- v tempting!

Great floral skinnies, fritzi. I'm with NY and wouldn't wear flowers/ patterned jeans because of my fear of drawing further attention to my bottom!

reine- I had another peek at your blog recently. Wow! You are so talented and what imaginative designs!

bloss- good luck with your assessment.

amber- I'm sorry I missed your post re skin the other day. Hopefully, it has cleared up by now as you have recovered from the tonsillitis. I think the skin can be reflective of one's state of health. Let me know if it isn't better anyway.

pickled- congratulations on your first day in your new job. You sound v positive.

red- I can't believe that you never get complimented! Did you get any further with the childcare/ wardrobe dilemmas?

I think for me, my most complimented items are my Hobbs lined coat which is a stone sort of colour with white polka dots and a peter pan collar and a Coast lace skirt, which I got on ebay. I've had both for years and I still seem to get complimented nearly every time I wear them.
I am getting lots of kind compliments at present actually about my neat bump/ how I haven't put much weight on/ how well I look actually. I don't feel v 'neat' but it does make one feel better at a less than glamorous time and better than being told that I look bigger every time he sees me by a work colleague (yes, he has a great sense of humour)!

Apologies for epic post. Well done to anyone who has had the patience to read this far.

looby, I can imagine you pregnant and in my mind your are 'neat' and glowing.

Marsha, thanks for the PM, I will watch, quite like stuff like that.

Red, I am sure you can make it worth the reluctant Granny's while Wink.

I have been having a trying on session as my HofF order arrived. Ash wedge trainers in clay are wonderful - buy MrsCB, you will not regret it! Have finally found a label that works for me, NW3 at Hobbs - got some v. nice skirts also got some patent wedge sandals and a Whistles sweatshirt = quite a successful haul.

Decameron · 14/06/2012 07:58

No, I won't be returning the bag, I do actually keep some of the thimgs I buy.

OllieinOrange · 14/06/2012 07:59

pickledsiblings · 14/06/2012 08:12

AmberNectarine · 14/06/2012 08:14

Wish I sometimes returned some of the things I buy! En route to Selfridges, wish me luck!

FritziGreenEyes · 14/06/2012 08:15

deca The bag is gorgeous and you will love it forever. At least until one of your DDs is old enough to claim it Smile

blossoming · 14/06/2012 08:18

DH got the vote. Davina won, surprise surprise!
Slept no better though and need matchsticks for my eyes.
Have good days all. Will look forward to catching up after my stress filled day!

Russianred · 14/06/2012 08:19

I reckon I have a 25% returns rate - you need to have things at home to see if they work for you, I think.

Amber I am stalking you across S&B boards - if there are those shockingly bargainous 811s around inn a 26, do you think you might be a fashion fairy for me? Hope thos e elbows are suitably sharpened.

OllieinOrange · 14/06/2012 08:19

DH calls me the "Take Back Queen"
Enjoy Slefridges Amber.

The Onlne Stylist blog has an entry on Dona Ida setting up her own collection - centred around higher waisted jeans! Sounds good.

Off to the shops too - I may er, have a few returns to make. Dont tell Pickled Wink

FritziGreenEyes · 14/06/2012 08:26

Massimo Dutti Sale has not started on German website, grr!

FritziGreenEyes · 14/06/2012 08:26

bloss Fingers crossed! I'm sure you'll pass with flying colours!

Hopefully · 14/06/2012 08:27

Arghhhhhhh so bored of my crazy high maintenance DS2 today.

Sorry, just had to get that off my chest Grin

Emo hope things are brighter today.

Loving all the sales talk, am keeping fingers crossed for 811s in a colour I want appearing online soon. There's not much else I want that is likely to be in sales, but I'm keeping a lookout nonetheless.

notyummy · 14/06/2012 08:40

Just popping in to say that Cereals 2012 (for that is the name, believe it or not, for the show I am at) is a.huge and b. the place for flirting practice. Not.Another.Woman.In.Sight. Shall we make a date for next year SE? Wink

MarshaBrady · 14/06/2012 09:06

Am at a cafe in p&j shorts and navy t. Dh said it was hot. Bit fresh!

FritziGreenEyes · 14/06/2012 09:07

notyummy I'm intrigued! Is that the event you bought the glitter Hunters for?

Have just phoned MDutti customer services and was told that sale in Germany starts on 21st of June and I am "not allowed" to order from UK website. Hmm
