Morning Ladies, another wet, wet day here.

Those flapjacks sound yummy, I will make some after school with DD3 who is very keen on baking, we made some banana bread yesterday and I kept expecting Ollies MIL to appear! ( no disrespect intended!)

DD2 finishes her year in France on Friday, it doesn't seem that long ago since she headed off, she is changing schools in Sept and will go boarding school in Ireland for her final 2 years.

Not much to report on a W&A front, I think that I'll be looking towards A/W like the rest of you, unless some incredible bargain presents itself to me!

Decam 'Hope that you had a good trip home.

As regards toilet training, my DM, mother of 8!, says that's forcing TT under the age of 3 is false pride! Seriously my 3DDs were all different in that department.

NY 'Hope the wellies arrive on time!

Decameron · 13/06/2012 08:04

Hi all.

Looby, hope you are still feeling well, you are really on the countdown now. Did you decide to go for a cs?

Eeek, sorry about the teeth, NY. I haven't had my wisdom teeth removed, they haven't bothered me yet. Sparkly wellies sound fab.

Everything, hope things have dried up in your neck of the woods!

That year went quickly Portia. My DD2 was 1 yesterday. It was nice to see people and DD1 had a great time but I found it hard work on my own with them. My aunts and dad's girlfriend have lost interest in helping me as they have their own grandkids now (understandable, of course) and my father is a Kodak grandfather, my brother says (happy to show photos of his grandchildren but not so patient with them in reality). I don't think I'll go again until Christmas and only then if DH is with me. My father's house is lethal for babies.

Hope your DH's new employers stop messing him around, Hopefully. I am often discombobulated and getting fed up of not knowing which country we'll be living in, let alone which area.

I'm going to Westfield today and to Selfridges next week but like the rest of you, unless something I love at a great price presents itself, I'll be waiting for 50/50 boots, this bag and snuggly knitwear. Thanks for the heads up on the Maxmara dress, though, MiM. Also like the heliotrope J Brands but only if they are further reduced.

Bloss, have the J Brand leggings arrived?

Rufus, those boots look cool!!

Decameron · 13/06/2012 08:09

Blue, I waited until last summer to toilet train DD1 when she was 3.3, I was a bit worried as she was starting nursery in Sept but she got it in a few days. I think wait if you can.

Annie, I had a look at the other thread you linked to, those women sound awful. I still have dresses my mum made for my barbies and my DDs wore cardigans my aunt knitted for me when I was tiny. I haven't a creative bone in my body, unfortunately.

Enjoy Paris, Emo and good luck with your new job, Pickled.

Didn't do any shopping in Ireland but bought a load of make-up in the duty free. Chanel Perfection Lumiere foundation is the business!

FritziGreenEyes · 13/06/2012 08:10

While I was taking DD to school, my DHL express delivery guy left a parcel for me Smile. I got these floral skinnies and a pair of white SuperGas. Shoes are too big and have to go back and I am not sure about the trousers. They are a bit too cropped/capri for my liking but would work well with so many of my navy and white tops and summer shoes too. Would I have bought them at full price? Absolutely not. Would I be happy to bump into George Clooney wearing them? Oh, yes! It's not Roxy love but there is something about them that appeals to me a lot. Will try again tonight and see what DH thinks.

Time for cappuccino and catching up on posts.

Bonsoir · 13/06/2012 08:13

I really like those floral skinnies, fritzi.

Decameron · 13/06/2012 08:14

Fritzi, I really like those, more than the heliotrope I was thinking of. Hmm , tempted. Isn't it lovely to come back to a DHL parcel?

FritziGreenEyes · 13/06/2012 08:24

bonsoir I like them too as they are not too obvious florally IYSWIM. However, I am not sure if the 28s are a bit too tight and legging-like on me (although the fabric is gorgeously soft) and if floral will be a one season wonder and I will get to wear them only once. Think they could work with knee high boots and chunky knitwear too Hmm.

deca Good to have you back! I missed your post. Our DHL guy is very nice but I was actually glad that I wasn't in this time as I had seen him twice this week already: Monday Matches delivery. Tuesday Matches pickup. He is always very interested in what I have ordered Smile

Bonsoir · 13/06/2012 08:32

Those floral skinnies would work for my summer life picnicking in the park if it could stop raining - I think they hit the right note between glam and casual. They would look good with silver Hunters and my navy Marni @ H&M parka...

notyummy · 13/06/2012 09:05

Good to see you back Decameron, although it sounds slightly tiring!

I can see you in the floral skinnies Fritzi. I have seen a few patterned ones that I quite like, but so far have steered clear because of my big bottom/thigh paranoia. The same reason I have yet to try on white jeans, despite promising Mrscb that I would Blush. My mental picture of myself obviously runs deep!

Have dentist appointment in 30 minutes and then must rush back as my wellies are being delivered between 1130 and 1230. Quite usefully I have swapped my day off this week from Friday to today so I am actually around.

Was just looking at the sale stuff in Grazia. Didn't actually like most of the stuff they highlighted tbh, but I am sure there is some great stuff out there.

AmberNectarine · 13/06/2012 09:12

I have just looked through my wardrobe out of interest and I have noticed I don't own a single floral item. How odd, as this has not been a conscious decision at all!

OllieinOrange · 13/06/2012 09:32

Running in with maxi news. Finally, one that fits and flatters! This Gap maxi is a keeper - more column style than shown in pics and nice thick jersey. Know it being strapless limits its wearability but a good buy for 25 pounds (used 30% code) imo (given the weather, I may as well put straight into suitcase for our trip to France later in the summer)

Loving all the sales talk. Think we are all being quite savvy this year but Amber i think your bag and scarf are wonderful buys.

Having a strange day - feel v tearful which is most unlike me - and not caused by any one thing. Bloody hormones.

Must run out to finish buying stuff for gift bag for friend but back later for proper post. Boys have their sumer fair at school this afternoon and its also the neighbourhood 'play on the street' event which usually involves me loosing DS1 and him turning up riding a donkey or on the bouncey castle!

OllieinOrange · 13/06/2012 09:40

Oh and Portia , MIL last seen heading towards the ferry terminal. Éxpect a knock at your door around teatime Smile

MidnightinMoscow · 13/06/2012 10:00

Fritzi I think those floral skinnies are fabulous - I love the colour of them. Keep!

Lovely to see you back Decam. I know what you mean about 2 DC's without DH. My DH left for Spain for 5 days this am, it's my London trip on Tuesday thats keeping me sane.

Great news about the maxi ollie. Sorry you have been feeling tearful today.

Good luck at the dentist NY.

SE hows things today?

Wave to Portia

Decameron · 13/06/2012 10:05

MiM, I'm heading into Selfridges on Tues, babysitter coming at 10am. :o Let me know if you are around!

Fritzi, my DHL man knows me well, gives me a cheery wave and asks after the DDs when I pass him in the street!

Lovely dress, Ollie.

For those who like florals, I bought this lovely Crumpet scarflast year and it is now down to £40.

CaroleService · 13/06/2012 10:42

Annie Mac- I bought the Wallis maxi dress a month ago, but sent it back. It is a beautiful, vibrant, sheeny colour and the seaming is really pretty, but it is 100% polyester and CLUNG.

It sold out very, very swiftly though so perhaps other people have a better solution to static than I do.

Fleecy · 13/06/2012 10:46

Back from Valencia to crappy weather - boo! But have managed to catch up and am enjoying your sale buys.

Yay for ollie's maxi particularly

I say keep the jeans fritzi - I like 'em.

everything has your flooding subsided?

OllieinOrange · 13/06/2012 10:51

Question of the Day : What single item in your existing wardrobe has received the most random compliments?

Got asked in a shop just now where my slouchy nude Cos bag was from - its now been admired by my dentist, HoC lady, shop assistant, mums at school, Fritzi Smile and now a stranger. Just got me thinking about compliments and what sort of things get them? Im always telling people I like things - but its v nice to be on the receiving end too!

Time to go and fleeced into buying all sorts of tat at the summer fair

Great to have you back decam. Bloomingdales takes 3 weeks to deliver I think!
Love the skinnies fritzi, and happy to see strappy sandals on the models. I can wear my JC's again without feeling old hat!
Have struggled into work, in college, doing work on Maria full of grace, so not too hard, but have been unwell for a few days and had very little sleep.
Strangely, my Zara blazer is working for me again. I'm wearing it over the jigsaw stripy crew neck and portia's capris. Even stranger, it is still not raining!

Missed loads there, glad the maxi is a hit ollie. I mostly get complemented on the davina, pinstripe and tweed versions. And my quilted mid heel shoes.

FritziGreenEyes · 13/06/2012 11:15

ollie I got the most random compliments for my pink/nude silk floral blouse from Zara. Now that I know that it is essentially ME I love it even more but get a bit stressed about replacing it as it is starting to fray a bit at the seam. Your Cos bag is absolutely gorgeous and so so soft. Can see the maxi working well on you.

bloss Love your outfit today! I wasn't aware that strappy sandals were ever out of style. Thought they were a classic staple, no? Hope you are feeling better soon. When will your summer hols start?

notyummy Hope you are not in too much pain. Do you like your new Hunters?

deca Did you wear dress and heels for going out while you were in Dublin?

pickled Good luck for today! What are you wearing for your first day at new job?

fleecy Welcome back! How did the house hunting in Spain go? Any great purchases (clothes I mean, not houses Grin) while you were there?

AmberNectarine · 13/06/2012 11:27

Hmm, I have a dress from American Apparel, a very simple purple cross over body con job which I always get complimented in and always, always get hit on in. Was bought for a date with DH years ago, and it definitely had the desired effect. I resurrected it for the Steps concert and he was most pleased. Have ordered the same dress on bright blue when it cropped up on secretsales, as it is clearly a magic dress. My sparkly blue Bayswater always gets oohed and ahhed over a lot too. The thing I get stopped most in the street over (at least once a day) is this but not really W&A appropriate!

Glad the maxi is a success ollie! I am a terrible spendthrift in the sales, but I do try and buy only things I will use. I always stock up on basic tops from Vince, Splendid, Wang etc as I love them and wear every day but just cannot cope with £75 on a T shirt!! Haven't really taken the scarf off since it came home so I think it was a good buy!

notyummy · 13/06/2012 11:30

Will have to think about Ollies question of the day....

Still no Hunters.

Just running in to say that if you were planning to come to the Dublin MU and haven't booked flights, Aer Lingus has a sale on flights at the moment - I got an email from them.
