Did you see the Carven is reduced in the Flannels sale here amber?

OP posts:
AmberNectarine · 07/06/2012 20:21

I did see that bloss, I am hoping the blue hits the Matches sale, if not, I will get the black...

I think Matches sale will start tomorrow...

AntPants1 · 07/06/2012 20:31

marsha and annie am so sorry I have not logged on for a couple of days and so did not see your PMs. What a shame about the waft but would be no fun in this weather. Yes to evening drinks...!

CaroleService · 07/06/2012 20:45

A travel day bag, Amber. Evelina hobo v lovely though.

pickledsiblings · 07/06/2012 20:48

Amber, the blue Carven is 30% off at MW with sale preview code - are you hoping for a bigger reduction? Sorry to hear about your fainting episode, hope you managed lots of rest today.

Feel like I may have put the final nail in the waft plans, sorry. Weather really is dreadful. Hope you still get the opportunity to glam up Bloss.

I have ordered some seriously bad dresses from JL in the hope that they will surprise me [channeling NY a bit]]. May need help accessorising if they do actually work. They are specially designed for petite ladies which generally just means .

Have had such a lovely week at home with the DC just hanging out mainly - my fav. pastime.

blossoming · 07/06/2012 21:33

All is well here.. turns out it isn't that hard to recreate 'lady to the left of EA' at all thanks to the lovely efficient people at mypashmina whose black stole arrived today, after only ordering it yesterday. So I will travel in black skinnies, new high heel ankle boots, striped crew neck, Roxy and stole. Dug out my old Zara blazer and it looks good with that too, although the blazer itself has definitely seen better days.
For the evening, I will be wearing the white co bandeau maxi dress, with some super strappy jimmy choos, that I bought nine years ago when I got engaged in New York which have a 3 inch cigarette heel. I know it's not done to wear heels with maxis, but believe me, they work for me. I look incredibly awful in flats, flat sandals and wedges. Really happy that I get a chance to wear them. I'll have rouge noir on my toes, and DH has promised taxis. Happy days.

Bloss sounds fabulous.

I am comically busy - had a mad rush of sales in my fabric shop, so am manically packing orders and trying to keep on top of stock levels. Good timing, as it means I might be able to indulge in a sale purchase or two Grin

alwaysrunninginheels · 07/06/2012 22:13

blossoming have you returned to r&b without receipts? Have those wedges in camel but in less than a month the sole has a hole(tiny) but the sole has detached around the heel. I have the box but not receipt.....now wondering if it's worth returning them????

AmberNectarine · 07/06/2012 22:29

always if you paid on a card you could show them the statement? Did that this week with a whistles top that got several holes in after one wash and wear Hmm

Ooh Bloss your outfits for the weekend sounds gorgeous. Please do show us the ankle boots. Love how you buy to achieve looks rather than liking garments and going for them - how I should be purchasing for the future I think.

I am in my PJs on the sofa, whilst living vicariously through my best friend on a blind date with my next door neighbour's son. Am hoping it all goes well. Text update is that she's keen, but perhaps should have told her about the 4 year age gap. Oops. DH thinks that this is all a terrible idea as we really like our neighbours. I couldn't help myself though Grin.

FritziGreenEyes · 08/06/2012 07:28

russian May we call you Cupid? Grin

bloss Have lots of fun today! Love all your purchases and your outfits sound divine. Fingers crossed the rain won't be too bad.

amber Fainting sounds terrible! Please rest up! Impressed with your scarf organization. I could never find the energy to put them on a hanger. Mine get chucked in a drawer.

mim I particularly love the font of the words on your crockery. Do you mind telling me what the brand is called? My Mum keeps asking me about things I want for birthday/Christmas and I could give her the details. Feels more appropriate than emailing her my NAP wish list Blush

pickled Is your DH back from the States? Did you give him a shopping list? I love lounging with DD at home too but have promised that we are going to soft play hell this morning with a friend. Hmm

seventh Thanks for the link but I am not sure about the collar-bit of the VB dress.

dauphin Glad to hear that your Dad is making progress. Your home improvement projects sound great. Which paint are you using to paint furniture?

emo How did your lounge suit event go? Bet you looked great in your outfit. Love your new scarf and shoes. Oh, and if you ever consider doing the style/colour thing in Brighton, I'd be more than happy to hop on a plane and join you for a bit of shopping and Tapas (!) after. ollie, you're in? Smile

Just to make this post even longer than it already is..... The Matches Sale is on and I have ordered this waistcoat to wear with white vests/T-shirts and jeans. Slouchy cardi because it fills a gap in my wardrobe. This angora jumper to add some colour to my monochrome wardrobe. The Maxmara Pianoforte floaty dress is actually reduced by 40% but I can't think of a single occasion that I would be able to wear it: School run? Sitting at my desk at home? Summer holiday in the mountains?

Will stop rambling now...

alwaysrunninginheels · 08/06/2012 07:44

Good grief.....have just frantically chucked half my wish list into my basket after reading your last post! Love matches but some very speedy shoppers had cleared out some things in my size already. Any idea if the dvf stuff will go into the sale later as I had a few dresses on my wish list but it seems none of the dvf ones are reduced!

FritziGreenEyes · 08/06/2012 07:54

alwaysrunning I haven't even had breakfast yet and feel a bit queasy from all the excitement!

suburban · 08/06/2012 08:05

Morning, I am paying the price for putting DD to bed at 6 last night Blush We were up so early there was nothing on tv except infomercials for Insanity. I have new found respect for Hopefully it looks torturous, but highly effective.

Fritzi Great buys, especially love that Acne jumper.

What did you get alwaysrunning?

MidnightinMoscow · 08/06/2012 08:19

Morning.

Thanks for the Matches heads up Fritzi - I have ordered the red JBrands again, and will return to HoF, when I collect them today! Was restrained and only ordered this as well. Was tempted by so many others things, but held off.

Fritzi love that cardigan, very wise buy. The crockery is by Keith Brymer Jones, agree it's a good gift to ask for.

Your outfits sound great Bloss, the service from my pashmina is excellent.

Exciting at being cupid Red, maybe you'll need a wedding outfit soon. Smile

MidnightinMoscow · 08/06/2012 08:20

Decam the Maxmara dress you like is down to £108 if you are reading.

blossoming · 08/06/2012 08:46

Oh no, the panic of logging in to find the Matches sale has just started, and now can't get onto the site!

alwaysrunning, I recently took back DH's summer shoes that he'd bought years ago, but had only worn on a few holidays that fell apart in Spain, and they got him a new pair straight away.

red, in a bit of a hurry, so have put boots on fb instead. Will update MN profile later.

Hopefully · 08/06/2012 09:07

Grin Suburban. I have never seen an Insanity infomercial, but is it wrong that I want to?

No time for Matches perusal, off to a friend's this morning for tea and cakes. And I haven't in any way already scoffed one of the rice crispie cakes we made. Am unsure what to buy anyway - have made a wishlist but since I can't afford all of it I am in a crisis of indecision about what to prioritise.

Dauphin · 08/06/2012 09:11

Morning. Out with DH for lunch today, with DCs, of course. Looking forward to Italian for lunch and no cooking this evening....shameful, I know!

Not even dressed yet. A very lazy morning. Weather not exactly inspiring me. I mean, rose print jeans are just going to look ridiculous. Thinking black skinnies and stripes with trench too Bloss. Seemingly back to Autumn, albeit temporarily, I hope.

I'm going to have to wait until I get 'my' bonus (end of month, yay!) to do any sale splurging as spent rest of my self induced budget on some Swedish chairs, which I have yet to pick up. (I can feel DH Hmm ing already). Well, 'when you see it, you just have to buy it', is my new mantra. Beautiful, beautiful, pale swedish grey painted wood with upholstered seats in a simple Nordic print. Well, they would I suppose, being Swedish and all that.

Fritzi - have used F & B's Shaded White and Joa's White, Dulux's Court Grey and Susie Watson's Dark White...all very nice muted soft shades. I am repainting the childrens play house too....in a soft grey (and have run up some raspberry check curtains for the windows)....

Bloss - yes, the house is a nice distraction. Cannot wait for buidling to start. I have a good idea now of how I want it to look. DH still obsessed with the boring bits like heat source and drainage.

I really want the Jaeger sort of paisley floral shift dress which I saw in The Times supp a while ago, but cannot track down...anyone seen...?

Emo76 · 08/06/2012 09:13

why can't I see the Matches sale on their website?!!

Dauphin · 08/06/2012 09:15

Hopefully - know what you mean...things keep popping on and off my list.. I do loathe the scrum of sales too. The weather needs to change. Fast.

Mine made Rice Crispie cakes too...even the 2 year old. Wasn't even too messy, or maybe the fug of half term going stir crazy in the house has made me delerious. Bloody weather.

Dauphin · 08/06/2012 09:18

delirious - oops...

Can someone please link to the style definitions so I can guage what I think I am....self diagnosis not good I know, but in the meantime,.... Would also like to do one day, just so's I can consolidate my thoughts Wink

suburban · 08/06/2012 09:19

Hopefully I was captivated Smile. So far today I have had 3 Percy pig biscuits and a bag of mini cheddars Blush.

I am also in a crisis of indecision about the sales. I think the mini Gracie is too similar to my Mulberry Lily, given that I rarely have occasion to use it I might just keep saving and buy a bigger bag in January.

Wearing my floral skinnies today has put me in such a good mood Grin

I hope you have fun tonight Bloss

As far as I know all shops have to take something back and replace if it is faulty receipt or not, but could be wrong.

CaroleService · 08/06/2012 09:19

Damn you Fritzi for the Matches heads-up! Another handbag. Will prob send the Flannels one back though.

Had better leave this thread .... bye Ladies, and thanks .....
